Considering that youtube fails to permit sports, tv episodes and movies, pay a visit to "stream episodes (DOT) net" to watch them instead #VIDEOPOSTERID#. That is what I use in order to watch American Idol and all the latest tv shows.

I have a 2G ver 3.1.2 Jailbroken iPhone. The iapd file I loaded did not work. The incompatability message never appeared, however. Also, the audio stopped working through the (cheapo) cables after swapping out the file.

just a question, what resolution does this output to your tv? is it 480x320? i managed to get 1080p mp4's natively working on my ipod touch and was wondering if it would be any use out putting onto a tv.

i actually dont know what the output is. i do know the iphone will play lareger formatted vieos on its OWN screen by down grading the quality. i'd hope it would output the video in its native size, but i have no way of testing.

you can use very high quality videos if you need to. 640X480 will look better on your TV out without taking up much more space than 480X320 videos. Remember your tv/lcd has a much higher resolution than your ipod/iphone so the image is streched and usually looks kind of bad.

the file should already be set. otherwise you will need some software that can change Linux file properties.

thanks man it works. it only works for the ipod screen in the i phone. i had to download tvoutput via cydia. i use on 3.0 firmware. also dnload dtunes 2 it has a builtin output in the player. in the ipod app u willsee a frezzeframe pic of the video on ur phone dat when its working. in the other apps its a black screen but the player will act as a remote in potrait mode. if u tap ur movie and all you hear is sound just tap done and re tap the same movie and it will start showing on the tv.

ok this is a new one. i havn't heard of anyone bricking their phone from an IAPD file. restore and try again. thas all i can suggest

for those who cannot get it to work, remember to set the IAPD permissions to 0755.

You do this in the ssh client and right clicking on the new IAPD file and clicking properties.

In there you change the octal number to 0755

the downloaded file is already set. just copy it to the right folder and overwrite the old one. restart your phone after. I see i should probably make another video detailing the whole procedure. ;)

some people are reporting the error message goes away but video will pause after a 15 sec or so. can't really help you there. if i find a solution i'll post it.

idk if this is helpful but for my Ipod (2nd Gen) i downloaded the iapd patch meant for iPhone 3G directly from the ipod with the permissions already set to 0755 then just switched the original "iapd" with the one i downloaded, did a simple reboot, then videos worked fine, they sometimes won't work the first time you press the video but if you just press it again it will work. (well in my case that's what happened)

if you are using winSCP to transfer the file you can set the file's "attributes" or permissions to allow it to do certain things. right click on the file in winSCP and select properties and it will give you a 4 digit number. change it to 0755. its a linux thing. took me a while to sort it out.
