Wish you would have shown more of the tree ie: cut into it to show the depth of decay, knocked on it to hear the hollowness, shown the top branches, showed any signs of decay along the truck. This could have been a great teaching tape.
Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha! In all my tree cutting days! I've yet to have this one ever happen! LOL! Must be the saw LOL! That was priceless! stump & tree removal all in one shot! That was good Peg!!!
Classic case of landscapers a few years back trying to create a lawn among trees, rotorvators cut up all the roots, they all died off and then people go blame "the tree"...
no that's root rot. No rototiller is going to eat up the huge roots on a tree like that.
I love to see a tiller eat up 6inch round roots.
I seen these before but never that bad. People normally take them out well before they are all gone. They are very lucky no wind pushed it over onto the house.
Great stuff, pity the camera couldn't have been steady. I have put a link to this video from TreeWorld forum titled "Imagine the consequences of climbing this one".
He had cut a huge wedge out of the other side. He didn't know this side was completely rotten and held up by less than an inch or two of live wood. So the weight started to pull the tree the other direction before he made a cut!
he had already wedged the other side, but this side he was attempting to cut was so rotted that it just started falling. The tree was tied off to direct the fall, but having it fall unexpectedly is really a fright!
lucky, luck, mutha' ducky

I guess the moral is, push tree first, then beat the crap out of it, in direction of fall of course; then cut it! Thanks for the tip!

wow, looks like he really could've just pushed it over, did he even make a face cut? Lucky it didn't hit the house.
