Funny, you actually play it wrong! Nonetheless a good tutorial. The into should be played with an open d string in between each note, and the pre-chorus without. Trust me, I've seen them play this many times, live and on video. Josh moves his hands way to much to only play three notes...plus I've watched him right in front of me play this song!
