You don't need that many (1000) sparklers. What's also important is the containment. If containment is good (allowing more of the sparklers to burn and more pressure), it's possible to blow up a fridge or dryer with a rather small no. of (colored) sparklers. Look at v=8ZBTGZ1yMJ4 for a case of a sparkler bomb with very poor containment. It produced only a huge flare.

Nice bomb! Have you looked into flash powder before? I use it because I can't get coloured sparklers in Australia and it works out cheaper anyway. I think flash is better for smaller quantities because it is so potent. Still, I've made sparkler bombs when I was able to get the sparklers I needed, and I think there's something special about them :) They have a nice deep sound and I can get them to look good as well (like this one, with all the tape). /rant.
@AustralianPyromaniac Yea, I actually started with flash powder about 3 years ago but it was a pain in the ass because the ingredients for flash powder are hard to get so I would empty the flash powder out of firecrackers XP hahaha so I switched to sparkler bombs since sparklers are much easier to get here. Hey, this is definintely the best sparkler bomb on youtube, i've seen. Could you make a video tut sometime of something like a 100 spark bomb? i'm not 100% sure but the 500 one you made seems to have a ring shaped ridge around the fuse entrance is that filled with flash powder?
@Guiltygard Nahdude, the ring around the fuse just happened because that's where the electrical tape overlapped over and over again when I was wrapping it. And sure, I have like 150 extra sparklers from the bomb I recently blew up a fridge with :) I'll see what I can do haha and the fridge video is gonna be up as soon as I can get my laptop's disc tray to work :-P stay tuned!
Freakin Sweeeeeet . Only thing I did even close to that master piece bro was took a cast iron 2inch by 12inch length pipe. and filled it with dynamite paste, 30,30,30 nitro based fertilizer and some aluminium nitrate powder, followed it up with a water proof firecracker with canon fuse taped around it. and interted it and caped. 4 foot fuse and the car was running at the time. hahaah Nice noise. and a spot on the ground about 4 inches deep the size of a car hood. That was it. lol
I'd like to see somebody devise a way to use a sparkler bomb this size [or larger?] in explosives fishing, as in using explosives to fish... whatever... that'd be cool to see.

nope. all that matters is tape, the people who tell you to wrap the sparklers in newspaper or cover it in foil are just spreading rumors. all I do is tape the sparklers, and make sure that the tape covers the sparklers EVENLY, so there's as much tape on the top and bottom as there is on the sides. The way a sparkler bomb works has nothing to do with foil or reflecting energy, its just pressure built up inside and when the tape stretches enough, it bursts open :) good luck, tell me how it goes!

hmm, well the only reason i use electrical tape instead of duct tape is because duct tape is so wide, you can't really tape the top of the bomb like with the narrow electrical tape. also, electrical tape stretches to twice its original length, which is good for letting all of the sparklers light within the bomb.
you need enough tape to contain the burning sparklers until they've all lit and then the explosion bursts out of the tape. you need a crapload of it, i had about a quarter or half inch of tape on the sparklers. try wrapping them until the surface is completely smooth, then it should be enough.
@DKDNJN so just in case the fuse got wet in the snow, it would still work. even though the fuse i buy is waterproof, i didn't want the bomb to end up being a dud just because of some water

Nice bomb! Have you looked into flash powder before? I use it because I can't get coloured sparklers in Australia and it works out cheaper anyway.
