i awoke this morning and this video was on my suggested video screen. loving DFW as i do, i had to watch and listen.
thank you for posting this evocative piece. listening, i had the feeling that the recurring F# and E were the ever-present demons that fueled so much of his mania, while the lead was his muse given full voice. regardless, i think the piece met his standard of "what it feels like to be a fucking human being."
I just made it up. It's a simple riff of F# and E power chords with a delay effect from a pedal, then I'm improvising using mostly F# pentatonic minor.
