Thanks for the review. It's actually because of you that I got the Onyx (it's currently on sale for about $20 or so off). Can't wait to get my hands on it.
@Eriyoth We reduced shipping to Canada to $45. Madcatz shipping is cheaper because they probably have a depot located in Canada while we are shipping from San Francisco, CA.
Hot damn dude, didn't you used that PS3 Onyx at Dev? Hell just looking at it I thought it looked pretty cool, and there's a dual modded stick too? I'm gonna have to buy that. Thanks for the video Aris. I'll have to check this out.
nice finally somebody gets, it, i also fucking hate when hori or mad catz release a new revision of a stick its the same shit with a new picture, i love simplicity too, ill be getting one of these as well.
It's sad when you see a new stick like this which comes with features like plugs, no-slip bottoms, detachable cables, razer's stick has an easy open top and along with the Q4 an easily replaceable artwork top. INNOVATIONS which in my opinion make a stick better. Then Madatz gives us a step backwards with their new "pro" model. Totally agree with Aaris and his first comments about competition in the field.
Why would this company send you sticks to review. Who are you and why are you so special, you don't even know how to do a proper review. In my opinion you just made this product look bad.

What is the build quality like on these sticks? Ive got a TE stick which I love to use but I am not a fan of the about the build quality of the case. It feels to plasticy and toy-like for my tastes.
@c0118oy my guess right now would be that you can buy the Fusion right now and have it this week while you'll be waiting quite a while before Qanba makes another wave of Q4s.
I've been doing that for the past 2 years by taking GIANT mouse pad, cutting it using the bottom panel as a guide, using a spray adhesive and sticking it to it. It works JUST as good, I removed the rubber feet because if one is off the entire thing is shakey, and the mouse page has so much traction since it's kind of like rubber I guess it's great for putting it on a table and having it being perfectly level.
@Aris I'm very much a pad player and I got the stick as birthday gift. Having never used an arcade stick I was very excited to get this. My point is do you have any tips for people who had never used an arcade stick or is it a case of finding a style that suites you.
@AbeloW1000 I switched from pad to stick about two years ago and it was an awful experience but well worth it in the end. All I can say it, prepare to go back to the very beginning when you were a complete noob and embrace it. No one can tell you "how" to use it, that's entirely up to you. Practice, practice, practice. Go into training mode and do each move 25-50 times until you get the feel of the stick down and the moves out consistently then move onto combos, you'll get it eventually.
I can see your the type of person who would just have a plain vanilla ice cream when you were a kid right? No sprinkles, no syrup, no multi flavours...just...vanilla...like your sticks?
The Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition Fight Stick had both a foam padded bottom (although not Velcro) and a detachable cable, so this stick isn't the first in that regard, FYI! :)
@Aris Just want to know why you dislike the tekken 6 wireless hori arcade stick is it purely because of the pictures on it or is it because of its functionality as an arcade stick
@AbeloW1000 It uses poor quality parts, the case is completely made of plastic, it takes batteries and the signal for the stick can be disrupted by other electronic devices. That stick is bottom tier in my opinion.
@AvoidingthePuddle I had a friend almost buy one and I almost tackled him not to. He's a big tekken fan and wanted him and I could NOT tell him enough that iwasn't a good stick. Just on Input lag alone..
I would love to buy the EightArc arcade stick because I've never had one before! Once I get my own place Somewhere So-Cal to pursue an acting career I'll buy one of those fo SHO! & Arcade machines as well. Open up more Round 1 & Super Arcade places nationwide/internationally Whenever I become a high lever multi millionaire or posibbly a mid to high multi billionaire. Let's say 600 Billion dollars.
if sega would make the sega saturn pad re-done with (4) ps3 style shoulder buttons, instead of (2), six face buttons and select and start. perfection. those sticks look good, though.
They're partnered with Qanba or something. Beside the EightArc logo you can see what looks like the Qanba logo. But yeah the Qanba dual modded stick is a lot cheaper and has the handle (some versions don't), but I guess if you really hate the start button placement.

TBH Aris, the dual-modded stick isn't that much of a deal since you can get Quanba's out-of-the-box dual-modded for $150. In fact, the layout of the turbo panel on the second stick is strangely familiar to the Quanba. I like the first model quite a bit though, removable cable and recessed buttons, usually you'd only see that in a custom made stick.

Should I get this stick ? Shipping to Canada is crazy expensive ($75). It'll come up to about 230. Is it still worth it?
ghostslime 4 months ago
@ghostslime We dropped the price on shipping to Canada to $45.

Looks like a good stick, but it costs 75$ shipping and handling to ship to Canada. Such a ripoff, Madcatz's shipping is 10$.

@Eriyoth Yeah; I live in Canada as well; I would totally get the eightarc stick if it the shipping wasn't so ridiculous.

Nice review. I think a static camera + you moving the stuff in and out of view (or editing) might make it less disorienting though. :)

@AvoidingthePuddle i bought a TE for ps3, but i want to get this because of its versatility.
have a few questions though
1.I've heard there are firmware problems with unlicensed sticks?
2.How easy is it to customize?
3.Why are the white versions of sticks not bought more than other version? Because you can see dirt?

I have received confirmation from my contact at EightArc on the differences between the Q4 and the EightArc Fusion.
1. EightArc start button has been removed from the top panel and moved to the top right mini buttons. the Q4 has the start button on the main face.
2. the headphones wrap around 1 ear instead of being the iPhone-like earbuds.
3. handle has been removed

@AvoidingthePuddle Aris, do you think that since they are asking you to review this, then you could "suggest" to add detachable cable on the Fusion?
