  • thank you for sharing ur videos, i think i watch them all except the religious singing ones. I enjoy them very much, brought me back to the memory lane. Definitely I will retire in the Phil.

also, thank you for responding to each one of my comments.

  • @lizafelisa I want people to know that I am grateful for all those who watch and all those who make comments. It help me be a humble person.Glad you have good memories of PH. The religious singing ones are the real reason I'm here and married to Bhem. God has been good to me for 68 years. I live to praise him and worship him. We are just a vapor but he is eternal. I have to stop preaching. Thanks again for watching.....Popz

  • my mother paid a woman to wash our clothes back then, we were 10 people in the household and mostly kids, until 90's. The poor woman has to be handwashing clothes, the whole day/ twice a week. now after watching this video, i feel bad for her, it's was hard work for very little money.

I wish that Phil. economy will get better or people will shift their thinking toward living sustainability, permaculture farming- growing ur own food etc. instead of adapting western lifestyle. Just sayin' :) thx

  • @lizafelisa 100 pesos a day to do laundry now. Bhem's mother comes sometimes and helps do laundry. It takes her half the time compared to our washing machine. lol It's sad to say that there are just to many children born here. Every woman wants a baby. Most people here in Negros do grow their own food. They can't adapt to a western lifestyle. They have no money. Glad you enjoy the videos...............Popz

  • actually I was raised to was clothes by hand and feet all of my life we used it that was till i was 16 then we got our first meachine washer cuss my mom wonted me to learn how to live without electric so id allways b abel to live

  • As American I can tell you for sure no way in hell would I ever wash cloth like that.

  • @ylen13 It's pretty simple. You wash clothes like this or don't have any clean clothes. It's pretty easy really. Do them everyday about 15 minutes. There are no laundry mats here in our area. There are some in big city's. 35 pesos (.80 cents ) a kg wash and dry. Three day service. Popz

  • We Americans are lazy with our machines and all! Hey I just had an idea Popz and Im gonna blame you to my girl lol Im gonna sell my clothes washer to get extra money and save on the electric bill LOL Just kidding not gonna do any of that just an Idea. Naa won't do that to my girl LOL I hope to have her here by 2013

  • @thereathing100 No don't do that. It's only money. We don't have a washer at Mama & Papa's. You only get clean clothes this way there. I have a friend that moved here from America because they turned her down his wife for a visa to go to America. Twice. Before they where married and after. Something to thing about. He said that they only want Mexican & Ararbs in America. LOL Take Care Popz

  • Hi Tedd, you're so nice taking time to reply to each of the comments here about your videos. I really enjoy your videos. My husband is a simple man too but I'm not sure if he would like to live in that kind of place because he hates the roosters' crow..

  • @loudelnavarette I have to LOL. When I use to talk to my wife before I came here. The rooster would crow. LOL. I would say the rooster is calling me. I still hear the rooster crow at our place here Canlaon City. Thanks for reminding me of that. God Bless.

  • @pop65z I am Volume 13 now of your videos. I just hate it when my internet is so slow I can't watch it smoothly. I started the first volumes just last night and I can't stop from watching.. :)

  • My family lives in Manila but we only had our first washing machine when I was already in 1st year high school, that's when my father went to Dubai to work. By the way, I'm also married to an old (but sweet and still young-at-heart) American man and he loves me for being simple like your wife. I am following your life here in our country.. God bless you and your wife..

  • @loudelnavarette Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy the simple life. I feel so different when I'm at Mama & Papa's. It's like a blessing when I'm there. Thanks for following us. God Bless you & yours I know you husband treats yours right.

  • I was born an raised in the US, as was my parents and ancestors going back hundreds of years. We didnt have a washing machine or dryer and my mother washed clothes by hand in the bathtub. When she was young, she helped her mother carry water from a spring. She would carry 1 5 gal bucket and her mother would carry two. This water was used for cooking, cleaning, bathing, and washing clothes. We didnt have airconditioning either. None of this is very shocking. My family is from NC and Tn mountains.

  • @TheRedStateShadow

No, It's Not to you. However, most people in America have no idea how you lived as a child. And they didn't walk 3 miles in the snow to go to school either. Right. Your one in a million. Pop

  • @pop65z No, there was a school bus. But walking to where the bus picked you up, without street lights, was an adventure. Imagine walking into something large and hairy only to later realize it wasnt a bear, but an old mule. Most of the people on the road we lived on, lived the same way. The TVA didnt get to our road wired until the late 50's. My g-grandmother refused to have an electric hot water heater because she had heard that they would explode. Applachia, a third world country til the 80's.

  • @TheRedStateShadow \

You're so right about everything. When I was in 7th grade back in the 50's. My teacher was with the electric company in Kentucky. The old farmer was getting electric for the first time. They put in the outlets for the light bulbs and came back the next day to turn on the power. There where corn cobs stuck in them. He said we didn't want the juice to run on the floor when they turned it on. Hehe Pop

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • If you wash one piece you don't use a bucket of water. Actually you use a tub of water to wash all your clothes. Water is hauled up the mountain from 1/4 of a mile away. 5 gallons weighs about 45 pounds. You don't waste water.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • she doesn't know mhow to wash that shirt.she suppose to have a backet with little water in it and soap.

  • @pop65z I am also like your wife who used to wash clothes by hands as early as when I was in Grade 4. But I can really tell she needs to learn the proper way of washing clothes by hands. jimmytwoshoes2009 is correct, she should be washing the clothes on a little bucket or a tub like what you said, but only smaller so as not to waste the water because you will only use little amount of it to make some suds to start your laundry.
