  • can u upload unsung the barkays, freddie jackson

    please . thank u.

  • He is the originator of that sound...

  • First time I saw them was opening for Prince on the Controversy Tour in 82. I was blown away

  • More BOUNCE TO THE OUNCE wasnt number1. We wore that 8 Track out. My sister 8 track was dragging by the time we finised playing it,,lol

  • @IMissMyMichael That 8-track Larry was holding ....I have it right now !

  • I wonder which brother killed Roger?

  • @aqueencee1 larry

  • Roger is so animated--reminds me of Morris day with his theatrics!

  • Yes, other artists used the talk box before him, but compared to Roger they simply don't matter because he is the best to ever do it and he used it consistently for over 20 years. This doc is about the late, great Roger and zapp so stop naming other people.

  • I have more respect for Snoop. He will tell you straight up that he loves Old School music.

  • Stevie and Peter Frampton were early voice box users.

  • @JODYMACK1957 That is correct @ early talkbox users and lets not forget Joe Walsh,The Eagles,Iron Butterfly,Sly And The Family Stone and many more.

  • I remember Roger and the Human Body. They played every other month in East Lansing at Dooley's. They were tight. I also remember 1980 when Earvin came back and after winning the NBA title and the band was now called Zapp and they played at Dooley's. That was a party.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!

  • cool documentary, love zapp ... but they seem to forget stevie used the talkbox before rog.

  • I hate the fact the interview has only 2 active brothers.... R.I.p. Larry and Roger. Im so MAd at you Larry.. you could've did it different.

  • If you believe his brother killed him, your a motherfucking fool

  • Shoot...they invented autotone sounds.

  • T-PAIN YOU THIEF!!!!

  • i remember that many faces of roger album. it still has the library sticker on it. moms never took it back.

  • You Can Most DEF SENSE Snoop's Excitment About Zapp & Roger! Shoot Im Right W/ em!! Zapp & Rog had that ENERGY!!

  • Herbie Hancock was using that fx too.

  • one of the greatest live bands ever, too appreciate Zapp you had to see them perform.

  • i like this video

  • Well, Stevie Wonder, Sly Stone,Peter Frampton and Johnny Guitar Watson used the talk box before Roger. they all did well with the talk box but Roger took it to another level. Auto tune ain't got S@%t on the talk box.

  • @KingMellow11 i've never seen sly on a talk box but i know he used it. love to see him thou

  • You can not listen to Zapp without smiling. :D

  • T-PAIN AINT GT SHIT ON THIS RIGHTCHEAAAAAA

  • 1:52 to 2:07......Snoop is a GOT DAMN FOOL!!!!

  • @ROGERTROUTMAN1 Which Is Funny Cuz I Rewound That Part Like 20 Times During Live TV, Lol! ;-)

  • @ROGERTROUTMAN1 lol dont forget the last 10 seconds of the video

  • 3:09 "Nobody had ever done anything like that before?" Are u serious??? What about Stevie Wonder in the early 70s?

  • @roscoegino Steavie did it with a harmonica not a talk box. Stevie had his own lane too though.

  • @c0mm0ns3nc3

I don't think that's true, Stevie did some talk boxing before Zapp. In the matter of fact Stevie was not the only one but Roger was firste that made talk box THE BOMB!

  • @c0mm0ns3nc3 he had talkbox too which he played live long b4 zapp.

  • @roscoegino yeah and Larry graham and graham central station, now do u wanta dance jam...

  • I WANNA BUY A COPY OF THIS ZAPP AND ROGER STORY LOVE THIS BAND!!!!

  • Hmm, Larry played congas, whereas the other brothers played "real" instruments. Then Larry focused on management of the band. So basically the other brothers were not dependent on Roger.

I'm sure Roger must have had uneasy/unsettling feelings about Larry. I wonder when Larry bought that gun.

  • snoop is a great storyteller & comedian @2:01

  • Snoop says it sounded like he had a robot with him. That was my first thought when I heard Zapp. Old school smacks the new school in the mouth like a disobedient bitch. lol

  • @TheMrplayaplaya Amen. LOL. Old school was and still is so original and real.

  • @TheMrplayaplaya When I was little, I called him Roger Robot haha

  • @TheMrplayaplaya LOL!! You silly

  • is it me or do big robb look like the club owner from the movie purple rain? lmao

  • I wonder why they didnt menion his son on Unsung?

  • ooh man this vid brouht back alot of memoris iwas at their show at gillys about a week before more bounce to the ounce came out and yes bootsey / clinton and everybody was there.but thememory for me was when the human body played at the lakeview paladium.with parlament funkadeic.roger played maggot brain. and george clinton was sitting in the audience.he jumped up screming i got to have that guy he;s bad i didn:t know iwas seeing history in the making.
