That was an awful performance by Froch. I had Dirrell slightly ahead on my scorecards and so did the commentators. In all fairness possible a draw. It was a close fight and a very boring fight in my opinion.
Dirrell could have won this fight easily if he would have shown more aggression in the first 4-5 rounds. He did defense and run away too much. To be honest I am not sure how Froch thinks that he will eventually be in the pound for pound rankings fighting like that. Froch is just to bad.

He looked like a bum for the first half of the fight, but really impressed me with his speed over the last 4 rounds. if you figure the referee into the equation it was a disaster. the scoring 115-112 froch not even remotely close by the way more like 116-112 dirrell. but the ref failed in his duty. he didnt penalize froch for what must have been at least twenty punches to the back of the head including a knockdown with an illegal backhander and a body slam/ judo throw. take that into account and it was a horrendous show of boxing. and a disgrace that froch won. however yes the fight was close otherwise!!!

I knew it was a matter time untill this debate turned into a silly US vs UK argument. Seems like the word "robbery" is cried out whenever a fight goes to the scorecard. In most cases it's unwarranted (Cott0/Clottey) while in some cases it's definitely appropriate (Diaz/Malignaggi). This was definitely a robbery in my opinion. It wasn't a brilliant performance from Dirrell but Froch looked absolutely horrible. I only recall Froch landing 1 meaningful shot (excluding the rabbit punches).....

That was an awful performance by Froch. I had Dirrell slightly ahead on my scorecards and so did the commentators. In all fairness possible a draw. It was a close fight and a very boring fight in my opinion.
Dirrell could have won this fight easily if he would have shown more aggression in the first 4-5 rounds. He did defense and run away too much. To be honest I am not sure how Froch thinks that he will eventually be in the pound for pound rankings fighting like that. Froch is just to bad.

He looked like a bum for the first half of the fight, but really impressed me with his speed over the last 4 rounds. Wasn't enough to take the belt from the champ, (especially in his hometown, cuz there's always that element) but in a rematch I'd probably go with Dirrell.

if you figure the referee into the equation it was a disaster. the scoring 115-112 froch not even remotely close by the way more like 116-112 dirrell. but the ref failed in his duty. he didnt penalize froch for what must have been at least twenty punches to the back of the head including a knockdown with an illegal backhander and a body slam/ judo throw. take that into account and it was a horrendous show of boxing. and a disgrace that froch won. however yes the fight was close otherwise!!!

Only Americans and Calzaghe fans think Dirrell won. Americans upset there next big hope got beat. Atleast the judges werent all from the UK unlike in the states when they usually are all American. Fortunately for Froch, Taylor didn't have the stamina to sustain the one sided beatdown he was dealing Froch the first half of their fight. I laughed when I heard Froch refer to himself as a warrior...on the battlefield this tool would cut his own leg off. My prediction for the rest of the tournemant...Ward, Kessler, Abraham, Dirrell, Froch. I wouldn't be shocked if Taylor (if he sticks around) beats Froch in a rematch.

jee...interesting that you bring up Diaz/Malignaggi as an example of bad decisions in the US. The argument used to defend that decision (from Diaz supporters) is identical to the one used to support this one. Diaz was trying to take the fight to Malignaggi while Paulie just danced around potshotting Juan. ONly difference is.Diaz didn't look nearly as awkward and amatuerish as Froch. Diaz had a few good exchanges in that fight. Froch had 1 good exchnage..if you can call asingle punch an exchange.

Dirrel should get a real corner. His game plan sucked in this fight. He could have easily outpointed and hurt froch had stood his ground. By the way the Show time Commentators are the worst. They cant even analyze a fight right. One guy says to have dirrel stand his grand while tarver says to run how stupid. He's fighting in britain, how is he supposed to get a decision if he doesnt hurt Froch. Out pointing isnt enough to get a decision there

Gyro...Dirrell fought the perfect fight. Froch has 3 things going for him...chin, power and stamina. Dirrell standing toe to toe would have increased his chances of getting knocked out. He has to fight his fight. The Showtime commentators are a joke. I thought the coverage of the Abraham/Taylor fight was just as bad. Abraham didn't do shit through most of that fight either. At least Abraham got the the job done in the 12th though.

Yeah Taylor may have beat Hopkins on record. But imo Hopkins won both their fights. He landed way more of the much harder, cleaner shots.

I agree that dirrel did to much clinching and running and pretty much wasted his talent by not going toe to toe with froch like he did in round 11 and 12 but, Froch did nothing in this fight. Only time he landed was during clinches. I would have accepted a draw but how the hell do you give Froch a decision for doing nothing. If he landed shots, there would have been some justification but, he was swinging at the air and couldnt catch Dirrel. Nobody is going to see this as a victory for Froch

Dirrell should have poured it on in the 10th....when you go to someone's backyard you have to rip the title off them...this was not an amateur fight, it was champion vs challenger and also...in the pro game, you need to press forward at times and look like you actually want to finish things and not settle for a few scoring shots.
