starting in 1985,the part of the opening where it said,"c.1972 By Corday Productions Inc,All Rights Reserved." was chyroned over.sometimes the film tends to jump a little bit and you can see where the chyron space is.
you can see where they covered up the prt where it originally said "COPYRIGHT 1972,BY CORDAY PRODUCTIONS INC.,ALL RIGHTS RESERVED". very cleverly done,chyroned no doubt.
@saml760 yeah, thats what I remember about the show, it said c 1972 well into the later years, dont know why they didnt update it annually or then why they removed it so late.
This was not the original 1965 intro to DOOL -that had a different display for the most part. This sequence ran from 1972 until June 1993, and at that, this recording was made no earlier than January 1985, because the Corday Productions copyright that appeared under the title for years was finally digitalized out at that time.
I notcied the original 1965 DOOL Intro looked more videotaped than the one used from 1972-93. And also the background in that intro was in a much darker shade of blue.
The font was also in Latin Bold in all capital letters in a smaller font as well. Search for Days of our Lives 40 year-anniversary or something like that and watch the beginning of that video and you'll see a partial intro from a pre-1972 DOOL intro.
I thought somebody had posted one, but we'd have to check to see if one currently exists on here. That version of the opening would have ran between 1966 and 1972.

I wonder why no one has an original '60s open to the show, one that includes the Peacock?

there's something soothingly simple about this intro music with his voice......its almost hypnotic.

Have you come across any 16mm or 35mm versions of this?

@VaultMasterDBT
I'm also looking for a copy of the pilot episode and intro. Have you ever seen one on VHS or 16mm?
Thanks.
