We're doing this at school, and everytime he says "I can feel a snag!" I hear it as slag.
We have so many inside jokes at the moment, like "Wait in your office, you will shortly recieve a visit." Now say that in a really overly sexy voice. We make it so hard for the guys to keep straight faces. :D :D
I wish they'd at least make a DVD or some sort of recording of this play for us who can't just travel and go see it... I mean, if those cheap bastards are leaving us without the two movie adaptations left, then at least the National Theatre should be kind enough to release something for us die-hard fans of such wonderful books!
this two part production will be done this year i so so hop som e one gets to record the play and put the whole thing on youtube for us in the states who can not swim across the puddle to see it ourselves
I totally agree. For me the two part production at The National Theatre in London ( a special 'drum' stage was needed as there were *dozens* of set changes) was the most amazing piece of theatre I have seen. It was light-years beyond the film in intensity - the two young actors who played Will and Lyra were brilliant. I went to the two parts with a week gap and could hardly think of anything else in between!
I have seen the film. The plays were much better. The scene aboce with the boat was brilliant. You could not see how it was supported as it came down from the top of the stage in a narrow beam of light. The Harpies were also wonderful.
I have always been a fan of theatre over movies. Can you please (if allowed, copyright) to post more clips from this stage production. or could you tell me if this production is available on dvd or video? Thank you
I went to see the play (both parts) at the National In London, 2 or three times. It was absolutely brilliant. The special effects were superb. large chunks of the books were chopped, but it made no difference. It was superb.
Wow - I didn't think that was going to be any good but jesus, thats amazing. Especially the bit in the Land of the Dead...really captured the raw emotion of that scene.
Saw the production at the National Theatre a couple of years ago. They split the books/play in half, so watched both parts a month apart, but it was amazing! All the daemons were done by puppeteers - absolutely brilliant! Really looking forward to the movies, too!
I dont like this series for some reason.it feels to cold. I don't feel like I connected with Any of the characters at all
