i got a really stupid question but here it goes,

I have been playing drums for about 5 months now, and my whole set rings for an excessive amount of time, especially my ride cymbal, is there anything i can do without spending a bunch of money to stop all this ringing ?

@shaun135961 For the cymbals and drums, use tape. I would suggest putting strips of tape on the cymbals until you reach the preferred amount of dryness. For the drums, fold up a paper towel into a little square, place it on the drum, and tape it to the head. All you need is 4 strips or just enough to hold the towel in place.
