My 21 has become my primary IDPA pistol for that very reason. I never in a million years would have believed a plastic gun weighing in nearly a pound less than my all steel 1911 could be a softer shooter but it is. I was impressed with local shooters who were getting great times; they were shooting the 21 with factory ammo and the proof was in black and white. Believe it!
Glock 21 has very little recoil, most of the wait is on top wich helps tame the recoil, and the polymer frame helps to absorb some recoil too. The .40cal glocks have a little more felt recoil because the slide is thinner and has less weight then the .45cals do.
Are those full power loads? Competition shooters often use lighter power loads for faster followup shots. That said, .45 ACP recoil is not as bad as many make it out to be. With a good grip, it's not really any worse than 9mm, just a little different.
I agree the 21's recoil is not bad at all. my rapid firing with either my 21 or my model 19 give me the same results accuracy and quick recovery. Glocks rock!

@12GaugeLosAngeles So you're suggesting that he should handicap his gun just to feel the recoil more? Makes no sense to me.
