I absolutely LOVE the book and the movies and i think it makes it even better finding connections to Christ. You don't have to, but if you want to know where i'm coming from, try reading "The Philosphy of Tolkien" by Peter Kreeft. Amazing book!

Damn, I miss these movies! Of course, I have the trilogy on DVD, but there was just something so magical about the three years when they first came out. I remember the anticipation, waiting an entire year, and the satisfaction of sitting through each film. Peter Jackson truly loved this project, and it shows. Wish more directors would put this much love, respect and dedication into their works.
