its not a sickness, its a curse. why ? because people start to fear you, because you have this shit in your head, that will start a seizure. i have epilepsy myself and i hate it
I have epilepsy, and I have a sezuire in my school once, but only one student was with me, I don't remember anything but I'm guessing I probably scared him. :/
Likewise. This is the only video I've seen that doesn't portray a tonic-clonic seizure (the stereotypical convulsing and dribbling). I have suffered from partial complex seizures and absences for a long time, but luckily my tonic-clonic seizures are under control.
i have absence seizures and one time im at school and im talking to my friend Anthony and his skater friends and i said something about skating or something and then i stopped randomly in the middle of my sentence and they thought i was trying to remember what the trick was and their like wow your stupid but no one thinks i have seizures they say "ya right! im sure you do" then like roll there eyes
Try having you ex take your kids from you because they could not get that it was epilepsy. Not bi-polar disorder or deprestion or even just flat out a mental illness....well I am now fighting to see my kids because of this. I have epilepsy and the emotional stress this case has put me under is causing more seizures...My doctor tells me to try not to stress but how do you not stress when you can't see your kids because of this...anyone out there???
It's a little known fact that us epileptics are more likely to be found attractive by the opposite sex. I'm glad this video sorted that out for everyone...
Sezuires Suck, i know. I've had em ever since i was 16 yrs old. People get treated differently cause they have seziures. I got made fun of in HS alot cause of my seziures. Normal people should try walking in our shoes for a while to see how we feel. it sucks completely. When people r having seziures, they aren't Fucking wasted. It's a condition that they got. I would never ask a girl out on a date cause if i told her i have sezuires, she'd run Kolerik
It's about time society recognizes the agony and devastating effects of Epilepsy as much as it recognizes stroke, cancer, diabetes, etc. After all, adversity is just adversity, one way or the other. Let's raise our voice and root for ourselves as much as rooting for others who can NOT stand for themselves. IT'S ABOUT TIME TO STAND UP & CHALLENGE THE CROOKED SYSTEM.
I had one major seizure this year and the very first time I saw it on video. Kinda weird, I wished the camcorder was focused on me while having seizure. To laugh at myself and ashame of having it? If I were a lowlife.
Just brush yourself off and don't worry about trying to remember what happened during a seizure, man. Your brain actually blocks out the memory on purpose, from what I've heard. It's like a traumatic experience being blocked out. I can't remember anything from my grand mals except for what eyewitnesses told me.
My Seizure videos are very interestingly educational. One can see the Grad Mal seizures and EEG test in the same screen. Thanks to my Neurologist Dr. Chen at VHC and Neurologists, Doctors and nurses of Staford University Hospital, Department of Neurology. Stanford, Ca. I finally, learned a lot about my seizures, which I never knew before. Education & support is the key answer for Epilepsy.
Una identificación 100% con el caso de este muchacho en el video. Ayudémonos por favor. Necesitamos orientación neurológica para un mejor nivel de vida.
I refuse to comment anymore on this subject, only because of the dickheads that think it's a joke, there is one guy in here I just cant handle with his stupid pathetic comments..this is serious stuff.. Take care everyone xxxxxxx
Can you please help me stop my seizures by writing letters on my behalf to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California to intervene on my behalf in expediting my Medical application, therefore, I could have my brain surgery to stop my seizures and live as normal life as I always had before being struck with endless Grand Mal seizures.
Just like Alcoholics Anonymous, why isn't the Epilepsy Foundation available any where in USA, except designate areas? Who finances the EFA? Besides dispensing redudant self-serving brochures, how, what, where and when did the EFA helped any victim of Epilepsy since it ever came to happen around? I wonder, if the EFA have any idea that victims of seizures are losing every thing they have ever earned for persistent seizures? WHERE'S THE HELP?
I live in England and there is no support at all in my area for victims of epilepsy. Basic information is availble in hospitals but that's it - no support groups, no advice centers, nothing. I am so glad that sites like this and forum4e are around because if they weren't I would have literally noone to talk to about epilepsy. Thankyou to everyone here, it is so comforting to know that other people are going through the same things I am and that I'm not a freak - thankyou! x x x x
Bookthief, It's sad that nations who "BLUFF" about aiding the whole world with their foreign aid can NOT even aid their own desperate people in need, fighting adversity, disease, death & destruction.
Sad it's always the powerless citizens who are paying the price, while those who swore to "serve" their own people are partying with their cronies. So much for a civilized society?
There's a doctor in my city who started having seizures after a stroke, and lost his license to practice medicine, for the slight chance that he might have a seizure while treating someone, or even worse... while operating on someone.
So if you think you're going to be like everybody else and go to medical school, don't be surprised when they turn you down for public safety reasons.
Thanks for caring to visit & write. NOT MUCH IS BEING DONE TO PREVENT FURTHER PHYSICAL OR NEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE. Though I have suspicions of my confused, dizzy, exuasted, disoriented & sharp chest pains, No I don't have any form of warning a head of time before seizures happens. Epilepsy is painful & deadly. To find out look at my pictures in myspace.myseizures. Your friend is lucky to have good friends like you, protecting her. I wish I have.
This is the type of epilepsy I'm classed of having. But that doesn't mean that's the only thing that happens to you. I have absences and full seizures aswell.
Epilepsy is secondary to an(inoperable)brain tumor that I have, and definetly become my prison without bars. There are thousands of people in this world that are worse off than I am, but it is comforting to here all the Epileptics stand tall and proud and verbally protect all others!
The video is perfectly realistic - a person having a temporal lobe seizure will suddenly feel 'eerie,' even horrified. I have had hundreds of such attacks
hey,I'm an epileptic also. ( which is why I'm a sped haha.) is it ok if I ask this? Even if I feel like I don't have any seizures ( I still take medication though), does it mean that my epilepsy is almost gone? ( because I've been seizure free for 6 years) is it? hehe. 'cause I've been telling my dad that it could happen again unexpected even if it seems like my seizures are gone.
did you stop and apply basic common sense to that question? You are probably SEIZURE-FREE because you have enough anti-epileptic medication is you to prevent a seizure. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT stop taking your meds, that is what keeps the seizures away.
Even if you don't care about your own health enough to continue your meds, think about other innocent lives that you could harm should you stop you meds and have a seizure!!!
Wow thats not an adequate answer to the kids question! Depending on the kind of epilepsy, the seizures can disappear. Some pediatric epilepsies that start in early infancy are gone by mid-adolescence. Nonetheless I think this person should not stop taking meds without consult of a doctor.
PS: Did you know that sometimes anti-epileptic medications can be detrimental to your cognitive development? Sometimes anti-epileptic medications don't even work all that much, either. So I suggest before you judge someone (or answer questions like these for that matte), you should read into what you're talking about first.
How ever long you live you well always be classed as an 'epileptic'. But once you been clear for ... years as instructed by your Dr (mine is 2 years) you shud be able to do things other people can do eg: driving.
The likelyhood of it happening again are slim but ALWAYS consult your Dr before making any rash decisions.
I'm an epileptic and I happen to have this form of epilepsy... it gets very frustrating for me when people start shaking me and yelling in my face to get my attention when I have an attack.
It gets really irritating when people automatically make assumptions based on my behaviour - I can't help it :(
Hey, I have epilepsy and I just say "Hey I have epilepsy and I take medication to control it..too bad they dont have any medication for stupidity..you could really benefit from it"
boy, i like you, I'm getting business cards made up with that slogan on it. That way if I don't have time to say it, I'll just give em card when I'm done. Good Idea.(Promise not to sue me either?)
