  • i saw this movie at school to day and it touched my heart. now im watching it again

  • I grew up in the next neighborhood over from that motherbitch. After you grow up as a kid seeing these kinds of people all the time, then you can understand know why us blue collared mofuckas will do anything to get money and punch the drugs out of our kids. If I see my kids doing that shit, I'll get real Irish on 'em right quick.

  • OMG!!! i think that woman's name is Darlene, but what a difference!!! as soon as i saw the interview with her after she got clean, i was so shocked and amazed at how different she looks!! she really is absolutely gorgeous!!! for her to be able to bounce back like that and get her life back is extremely amazing!!! she is definitely a woman who should be proud of herself!! she can be a role model for all the women out there who think that there is no way back from the lives they have chosen!!!

  • Yes i would like to know what happened to Nicola?! i have seen her in a few other video clips and unfortunately, she seems to be just getting worse and worse! does anyone know of any updates with her at all?? obviously she is a kind hearted and smart woman, she, among many others, was just caught up in a world that nobody can possibly understand unless you have been a part of it! anyways, if there are any updates at all, many of us would really appreciate it! we all wish her the best!!!

  • These officers are angels.

  • It was 13 years ago. I guess most or all those heavy drug users shown on the film must be dead by now. The whole thing is very sad and brutal.

  • 23:20....Joe Cocker?

  • Gripping

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO NICOLA?! :(

  • Compassionate police officers, hard reality, nasty stuff, such a waste of lives. Sad.

  • This movie....

  • Of course good cops exist, but the media will never let the public see that, or report it. No place is easy to be a cop, try walking in a cops shoes for a day. Vancouver is probably the most difficult place to be a cop, we live in a country where, for some reason, society cares about the rights of rapists, pedofiles, murderers, gangsters.... there a tonne of great cops out there, I work with many of them everyday, I am greatful everyday those men and women get out of bed.

  • Wow I'm scared

  • It breaks my heart watching Nicola. Such a waste of potential. She seems like such an intelligent, bright person. It's terrible how many lives are destroyed by drugs.

  • Vancouver is the easiest place to be a cop

u wanna see a tough job go to L.A. or Sao Paulo

  • Thanks to these officers, for showing how to do the right thing. Should be adopted by all law enforcement agencies.

  • FUCK TRICK DADDY

  • Does anyone know what kind of heroin predominates here? Is it black tar?

  • Canadian cops have it right when it comes to drug policy. Seriously, seeing how chill these cops are gives me hope for the world. Addiction is a disease, not a crime. I hope the poor souls in this documentary find some kind of peace.

  • @TheMatthewfitzgerald Addiction is real of course, I would disagree on the "disease" assertion however

  • This needs to be shown. Also, these police officers in Vancouver are a far cry from the ones I've met here in the US.

  • this is an awesome documentary on drugs and what it does to you, i,m showing it to my children (teenagers) to hopefully curtail any decisions, if and when they want to try drugs ,pray they wont tho<, but yeah , this is a way kul vvideo on this subject,, 5 stars to this vid for sure ,pass it along , it,mll ssave alot of lives in the long run ,,

  • ive seen most of these ppl in the video and know the cop who does the reality walks and i now have old school buddys that were in tournaments mad metals too when i look back at this, this place is the last time i seen my friend i believe she is still down there i miss you and love u

  • I remember seeing that nicola lady in vancouver like 10 years ago. it's a sad story, that's for sure.

  • This is how police should be. I would not have such a deep hatred for police if they did what their job entailed. These police are a prime example of how police should act and how they are doing what they swore to do.

  • RAPE!!...RAPE!!!...RAPEEEE!!!

  • only white people and natives are drug addicts in Vancouver. Sorry people but its true. Take a look on the downtown east side. Any Chinese ? no. any Sikhs ? no.

  • @VANDRO81 and the niggers are smoking crack and doing heroin.

  • Thats so bad to say....

  • very sobering

  • These cops are totally chill dudes. I wish they were my uncles.

  • lol scaring the kids to not do drugs is not the way to do it

  • its good to see some of these people were able to quit, hope they've kept it up

  • Vancouver is a beautiful city but also has the very dark side.Like is the worst City in North America for Intravenous Heroin use.The dark secret of Canada.Vancouver and Nanaimo British Columbia is the 2 cheapest place in North America to buy Heroin and the easiest to get Dilaudid and M Eslon(Morphine) prescribed by Doctors

  • That's why Vancouver opened "In-site"Safe injection site and if anyone says that was the wrong thing to do then they are very very ignorant about the Drug problems in Vancouver and other cities.Addiction is a Disease!!!!

  • @28:13 if Nicola did that in New York she'd be face first on the ground in handcuffs

  • @dongdongvu1 Or they could put her in the new Broadway production of Little Ophean Annie

  • They showed this movie at my school i had to watch it again haha

  • I used to Volunteer at the Dodson and Jubliee Rooms near Hastings and Main Street, not to mention I was an addict my self.

  • I'm a recovering herion addict from the suburbs surrounding Vancouver, The ONLY time I went to the downtown eastside because of drugs was to go to detox... I haven't touched drugs since, one of the reasons WAS because I didn't want to progress to that state. 6 years of heroin and 8 days in DTES detox was what it took for me to quit.

  • @1;48 thats a pretty bitchin' calvin klein shirt

and buddy@2;31 looks like llyod from dumb and dumber

  • if it aint green it aint clean!

  • @ilike2phuc damnn right

  • pot is okay dunno why every one hates pot but loves smokes.... least pot makes u happy WTB pot grenades for riots

  • this was a really mindopening vid! thanks alot, i've got an other perspective on drugs now... you saved my life! i was going to be one of this kids that wanted to try drugs just one single time... i will never touch drugs now... thanks alot

  • These police officers seem rather dedicated, and ethical in comparison with the current stories of corruption and violence.

  • @DaseinFly Compared with the pigs in California...esp. So. Calif.

  • Watching this whole show sure makes me look at these addicts in a different way. I was just numb during some parts of this show.

  • Good job, guys. I wish I had seen this when I was young.

  • Wow, this really changed my perspective on drugs.

  • Right, well, this is definitely very helpful! I tried cigarettes in China last summer, because underage users are less likely to be caught than the underage users in America, and I'm pretty sure my health teachers were lying to me... Unless I was doing it wrong. Cigarettes aren't very addictive, and I always told myself I'd try coke only ONCE in my 20's. Now that I've seen this and that girl's arm, there is no way in Hell I'm going near that crap.

  • Dx Is Nicola stupid??

  • @deatXbyXchocolate335 Nicola was mentally handicapped and she has been dead for like 6yrs now

  • @jozsefkacsa Nicola is alive and well , .. just saw her at woodwards panhandling ....she still does crack

  • this just makes me want to become a cop in Vancouver

  • @psdddt you dont have to be a cop to do good...

  • wow as an addict myself this was very shocking to see for me, that one girls arms r some of the most horrific images ive ever seen in my life, i hope they can all find some peace and light out of the cold darkness.

  • Were watching this movie or our school were only haft way through it Some parts or so Bad

  • one of the best documentaries i've ever seen.

  • In chronological order, this is shocking, touching, and hopeful.

  • truly sad state that drug addicts live in..

  • this is definitly the movie they should show at schools if they want to teach you to stay off the drugs i mean this made me think again what it does and that its not funny. this is chocking and that is what should make children realise that drugs are bad

  • This is making me appreciate every great simple little thing I have in life.

  • wow, so worth the 52 minutes. Hope Nicola will be okay and finally come to her senses.

  • woah it's more than 50 minutes long.... i don't have that kind of time @_@

  • Although this is one of the grittiest down to earth docs on the subject

it's still just PR for the police.

If you do just the tiniest bit of research, you will see these policia of the governments are responsible for letting this happen.

It's just under a 'watchful' eye now. If you walk those alleys of Vancouver you will see all the cameras which they don't talk about here.

The dirty truth, is heroin doesn't magically appear out of baking soda or cocaine. it has to be imported and by who?

  • @freqazoidiak I understand what you're saying. But we see the negative effects of alcohol and tobacco every day just as well. Police do a job. And that job is the enforce laws that officials- that YOU elect- make. Sometimes they are just trying to pick up the pieces. I agree addicts should be treated like patients and not like criminals. But it's their own choices that put them in their situation. Whether their drug of choice is legal or not.

  • fuck ....this is the movie that must be shown in the schools ....

  • @Larimuto I saw it in high school.

  • @Larimuto this movie was shown in my grade 8 health class a few months a go

  • @Larimuto it is

  • @Larimuto They showed it to me in my school.

  • @westcoastlogik same here

  • @Larimuto i watched it in school..in biology class lol...

  • @Larimuto they showed it in my school

  • @Larimuto it is i seen it in 9th grade

  • @just306in Such excellent command of the English language you have there. Maybe by the time you graduate HS you can be at 4th grade level.

  • This is a lot more realistic than what they show in school. After watching this, it becomes real to me. It's closer to home than most people think.

  • This film is so capturing! watched the whole thing completley captivated, nice editing and having this in a story type film. good job guys, loved it

  • Wow. As a teenager seeing this I am sure I won't ever get into drugs. What they have turned people into both disgusts and saddens me. I will be sure to circulate this amongst my peers so as they will also be educated of the effects of these kind of decisions.

  • jesus, 52 minutes

of course i have the time, i mean, im on youtube but....

    nooo

  • Gnarly

  • Good cops do exist

  • @shuzzbutts and i'm the first surprised ;)

  • This is a good initiative. Seeing it first hand sure has an impact. As a former drug addict myself I wish someone had shown me the hell I was bound for when I started. It might have prevented me from wanting to go that way.

    Good quality filming too btw.

  • Constable Al Arsenault and his group have my admiration. They obviously really care and are trying to help in the best way they know how. Very impressive!
