There should be less Tchaikovsky and more Brahms. Tchaikovsky is highly overrated after his late 20th century revival. Brahms's Symphony No. 3 is better than anything Tchaikovsky ever composed.

ugh, German and Russian music was so heavy on the brass...reminds me very much of English music around the time of George III. But I do love this music so much. I prefer List 1 (the classical/baroque era) but the romantic era did have some very good music too.
Very good choices! I also saw the first video and loved all that music,too. Another great one, in my opinion, is Beethoven's Fidelio Overture. I don't know if you've heard it...but it's a very good piece. :)

I don't know much about classical music. All I know is that I love it very much.
My favourite composers are Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Chopin. I understand that these guys are classified as being composers from the Romantic Era.
Can anybody recommend composers and pieces of music that I might like based on my preferences? I would appreciate any responses very much.
