  • i saw this film on the big screen when I was about 13 years old. It was hard to get past Steven Boyd in a hero role. It had a great score and a pretty good movie all around.

  • The problem with the film I thought was Steven Boyd cast as the main hero of the film. I think he didn't have enough box office clout to pull in the audiences. Someone like Charlton Heston or Richard Burton perhaps would have been more suited. Boyd had played the evil Masala in Ben Hur, Heston didn't want the role in this film even though Mann had originally wanted him, Heston had grown tired of such epics after El Cid also made by the same production team.

  • Thanks for posting this brings back memories.

  • This music is used throughout the Karnak "Sound & Light Show" at Luxor in Egypt.

  • Thanks for posting this. One of the most impressive scores ever written for the opening credits, but in the rest of the film didn't live up to it's promise. The movie itself also was disappointing, could have been marvellous but failed to deliver.

  • @TheVaughan5 True. It is has inspiration throughout it, and it inspired "Gladiator" in 2000.
