  • 2:30 hahahahhaha very scary! hahaahhahah scary! hahahahaha hahahahah hhahahaha

  • Thanks 2 this

The Tokyo tower's point got bent

  • This clip gave me an intense feeling inside of me!

I was up there in the Tower just 9 days before this happened.I waited 36 years of my life to fly to Japan...and when I finally did it it was just days away from this Earthquake.

Make me feel like a very small person in natures powerfull grip.

  • had been there just a few months before. keep wondering how I would have felt if I was there on that moment. amazing how the buildings in Tokyo can withstand so well such strong shakes. I might have pissed my pants, but I would probably feel very safe up there.

  • how did people get out? did they walk down the stairs? or take the elevator?

  • If I would be there when the earthquake happened I surely had suffered a heart attack or I would start screaming and crying as never before in my life

  • the first thing that would be on my mind in a situation like this is 9/11

  • @YOHEMITSU huh?

  • @YOHEMITSU ok so i translated what you said in some translator and got this:

In a voice such as the めっちゃ howling [だあああすけでえええええええ!]Guy いるな w which] - says Oh, I shook so that the tip of the tower bends, and is the feeling - わ w wanting I grit a tooth because you let - all the neighboring people frighten and to endure it though I

  • How long was it???

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuu...........

  • poor japan i think mother nature is angry against them,so pray for japan

  • My sister has been to japan several times, and Tokyo Tower as well. We realized today how scary it must have been to be in the tower at that time. I was surprised to find this video, and very pleased to see everyone was safe.

  • That was one scary quake. I work in an office block near the building you were in and I set a world record for descending 26 flights of stairs! An unforgettable experience as I am sure you will agree.

  • I visited Japan for EXPO70 in Osaka. Before heading South from Tokyo, I went up the tower. This video was shot from the expansive lower platform. The upper observation deck is at about 700 feet. Imagine what the ride would have been like up there? The people were probably human ping pong balls. In 1970,when I saw seismographs on the upper level ticking away, I knew they were there for a reason. I took 20 fast slides along with some Super-8 movie film. Then I headed straight for the elevator.

  • I was expecting at least those flatscreen monitors to fall. A real testament to the design and engineering of the building.

  • I was there about a month ago. I think that you can get on the floor and all but The place itself makes no difference if "the worse" was to happen..

  • That WAS a earthquake alright???you've been shacking record for 1 min and still wondering about it?

  • Can you imagine being in the elevator?

  • I was at the base of the tower and everytime I saw the top violently sway side to side it made me glad as I was on the ground.

  • WOW! Dr. Asarta is the Man! Not even a 8.9 earthquake can keep this man from preachin' his economic truth.

Party on, Dr. A, party on!

  • That's my professor! So hardcore. He told us not to worry and that he'd be back on Monday to teach us more economics

  • those slackers, get back to work!

  • Damn I'm buying a Japanese car after seeing this ...

  • That is the last place I would want to be in the 5th biggest earthquake in history - on top of a 1000 foot tower. Though on the other thand - it took it without a problem. I guess being on the beach would have been much worse.

  • God, people screaming in situations like this don't help anyone. Someone needed to shut that bitch up.

  • @lapotamus People like you are all big talk but if you were there you would have shit your pants and cried for your mommy.

  • He is obviously an economics prophesser, a physics professor would have known where to point the camera to capture the effects more efficiently.

  • someone punch that screaming bitch!!!

  • i never understood why some people just straight out scream in situations like this. In no way, EVER does screaming help the situation unless your injured. Even durring less dangerous events, sumdumho will find a way to panic and scream her brains out. It just trips everyone else out and harshes the general mellow. Get your shit together lady.

  • Be inside Tokyo Tower during massive earthquake.

Spend half the time focusing on the goddamn floor.

    Fail.

  • I was scared enough being on the top floor of a three-story apartment building during a mag 5 quake... I don't even want to think of what these guys went through.

  • Japanese Engineered Building " Is that all you got?"

  • 7.9?

    IN YOUR FACE MOTHER NATURE!

  • goddamnit deathwing... leave japan alone

  • You have to love the Japanese guy's calm reaction initially, "But it's safe."

    Thumbs up for Japanese Engineering!

  • hahaha, the walls and floor were shaking so you point the camera at them? next time just put the camera on a flat surface, professor :)

  • It's my favorite structure in the world...

  • dear god film the city not the floor

  • i have seen after pictures, and i still think Tokyo Tower is beautiful.

  • I was up there myself once, several years back. As I rode the elevator up, one of the Japanese women on it couldn't stop saying kowai kowai (scary scary).

Now, being on the obs. deck during the most powerful earthquake in Japanese history - that's fucking kowai.

  • @ancalites actually someone , a woman screamed for help,'tasukete kure'!

  • I literally had a panic attack watching this video

  • Japan couldn't handle the magnitude of awesome brought by Dr. Asarta.

In all seriousness though, that's tragic.

  • When I was there this is what I worried about the whole time: "some crazy Japanese earthquake while I'm up here on this thing." Glad to see everybody made it down okay.
