  • A fire? Big deal! Get out of my way- I need to get to City Hall and turn my petition signatures in!!!!

  • I wonder if all police fire and ambulances could be fitted with some sort of device that works when the lights and sirens are activated the device would turn all traffic lights within a certain distance to red in all directions sure would save drivers from having to go thru what both drivers in this vid had to

  • @flammabletube That won't do shit for idiot's like this guy. He reminds me of a guy who I know, who will blow ALL red lights if he has the opening because "They waste time, and do nothing"

  • @flammabletube Are you being serious? Because there definitely is a device that does exactly what you just said. Some older traffic lights are not equipped with the device that picks up the opticom though.

  • @XxNINJA636xX Yes I am being very serious there are too many police fire and ambulance and other emergancy vehicle crews being injured and killed all over the world because of idiot car drivers and yes I know EV drivers have to take care but the other idiots do not

  • @flammabletube You must not be in the Fire or EMS service. There are devices that change lights and they have been around for a number of years. They are called opti-coms.

  • Now who put that fire truck there?

  • lucky that fire truck didnt kill some one. all emergancy veh have to stop at a red light and only proceed once the right of way has been yeiled to them. you cant blaim the suv driver, he had the right of way and no visual contact with the fire truck till the last second. Sound echos in citys and you cant always tell were the sound is comeing from. The onas is always on the emergancy operator to ensure the safety of his crew and other drivers/pedestrians

  • @madmedicdoc

I am not sure what state you are from, but in my state ALL emergency vehicles must drive with due regard. No where will you see that all fire/ambulance/police have to come to a complete stop; moreover, if you look at the video, the fire truck was in view of that lane for about 200. Driver inattention? oh yeah.

  • @madmedicdoc What? The truck was visible from his point for a good 150 yards.

  • That's why they need to stop at all lights. Newer vehicles have soundproofing that negates outside noise. NOBODY has the law to run a red. Period. They need to stop, whether PD, FD or EMS.

  • Well im a firefighter, and most people must not realize that firetrucks running code 3, are to slow down almost to a stop at redlights, just for that reason. Yes, the drive of the SUV is an idiot for not hearing the Q and seeing the lights, but at any rate....

  • milwaukee...finally a fire engine video in my state

  • WHAT AN IDIOT!!!! (not the fire fighter)

  • I remember someone who stopped just like a deer in front a of a fire truck like that

  • wow.. how fuckin retarded can someone be??!! u really couldn't HEAR that loud-ass siren or possibly SEE the big-ass red truck w/ flashing lights??!!

  • chick on the phone/texting

  • People Need to learn to Fucking drive

  • So close!!!!!!

  • i think you get a free license if you live in that city

  • did u not hear the sirens or the horn? did u not see the flashing lights, mate i suggest u hand i ur license cause ur a danger on the road

  • They would not have to worry about leaving different color paint on each other's vehicles.

  • @zaidrim LMAO!

  • Yet another example of how everyday drivers to do stupid things on the road. This asswipe was probably on the phone, applying makeup or texting someone.

Can't tell you how many times I see this stupid shit every damn day. And the thing of it is this asshole was probably cursing the fire truck for trying to get through the intersection.

    God damn assholes . . .

  • i have seen drivers do stupid things around emergency vehicles, like the moron back in 96 it was snowing and i heard a fire truck on approch a car zipped passed my to catch the green light i heard the truck give three blasts meening he cant stop this idiot keept going and came inchs away from getting t boned. the fire truck was in a slide cause of this dork.do we not hear the sirens and the warning blasts.

  • I bet that driver is saying, "Shit I hope nobody filmed that!" Should have stopped at the intersection.

  • Emergency vehicles must yield to red lights..period. All depts have SOPs stating that they must come to a complete stop before proceeding. If this driver would have creamed that SUV he could have been sued along with the OIC of the rig. Unsafe practice, too many MPO/DO don't realize that to deal with the emergency in which they respond they have to get there and not make another emergency. If you look at the light as he goes past the camera it was green for cross traffic

  • Comment removed

  • that guy would hav got fucked up

  • i didnt know wall mart gave driving lessons

  • What a dumbass!!

  • I wasn't scared...

  • I was at a red light and an ambulance, with lights and siren on, got trapped by traffic behind me. Even though everyone in the opposing traffic stopped, the ambulance turned their lights/siren off, just to keep me and the driver next to me from going through the red light. Once the light turned green, the ambulance turned the lights/siren back on, everyone got the hell out of his way, and he went on. They all typically stop for lights here, except cops, who only stop if they feel like it.

  • @SarraPiyopiyo interesting, haven't seen something similar over here. When they are stuck in traffic in front of an intersection, they normally force the cars to the side (if needed also onto the sidewalk), over the red light into the intersection, or they go into the oncoming traffic lane. But as far as I know they never turned siren and lights off and wait until traffic flows again

  • @EnjoyFirefighting I think it depends. It was certainly for public safety that they stopped. The ambulance couldn't see the intersection... And the cars behind me had nowhere to go but onto the sidewalk, or through the intersection. The light changed after about 20 seconds anyway, so they didn't wait long.

  • @EnjoyFirefighting who ever said that emergency personal turn of their lights and sirens and wait for traffic to start moving again is a liar, if there is a medical emergency or a fire you don't have time to sit and wait, every second counts

  • @SarraPiyopiyo Where I live we have a nasty intersection at HWY 50 and I-94. Sometimes cars will be 4 or 5 deep in all four lanes during rush hour and I'll turn off my lights and siren in the ambulance when I approach the intersection. Motorists try and do the right thing by moving out of the way, but accidents can happen when they move out of the way into traffic. Better to wait the 45 seconds for the light to change then to have some innocent driver injured.

  • if the tender driver hit a car & killed someone while breaking a red light then he is at fault not the motorist, just cause ur on lights & sirens does not mean u can drive like a idiot

  • @bobtul umm the driver of the tower did every thing right he slowed down for the right light the idiot in the red suv needs to watch what he is doing

  • @bobtul completely incorrect. it is the law that you are to yield to emergency vehicles. emergency vehicles always have the right of way.

  • @ZealotsACH That is not the case, the law in WI clearly states that we must drive with Due Regard, and that our lights and siren are only "requesting the right of way". Yes a motorist can be ticketed if they blatantly disregard an emergency vehicle, but ultimately it will be a jury that decides that the code-3 response was indeed, in fact, necessary to prevent the loss of life and property. I've taught EVOC a long time and I've always taught it doesn't do us any good if we don't arrive...

  • @dsfryda Same here. Asking for the Right Of Way...but it never made sense if your asking for it yet the person can still get a ticket. I say, lifes are in danger, you better pay attention when driving, and let those men and women pass.

  • When you hear the EQ2B. STOP!!!

  • I swear some people get there license from a lucky dip!

  • @liamrokocoko I thought licences could be found in a Crackerjack box as well..

  • @liamrokocoko yup

  • Woman on cell phone: "........what...what you say.....I can't hear you, theres this loud siren and honking noise getting louder. Hang up and text me,k ?.....OH SH!T"

  • ariel ladder applience

  • Just because you're running Code 3 doesn't mean you don't have to stop and look before running through an intersection.

  • What an idiot, how stupid can you be to not hear and see that big of a truck coming, and blowing a loud ass airhorn too, and no in reply to the comment below, i dont really think an accident would have been the fire departments fault, after all they are on an emergency run, in my state anyway a driver has a legal obgliation to pull over for emergency vehicles on a code run like this, now this is in Wisconsin so it may be different there, but probably not

  • Driver of the rig would have been at fault in an accident for not properly clearing all lanes of traffic before proceeding through a red light.

  • this vid sucked

  • Very good brakes.

  • It cases like this where I kinda hope the fire-engine plows into the red SUV and kills the fucktard driver.

  • The truck would owned that car something like this..... 0% damage

    car... 100% damage.

  • this car is retarded

  • Lets See.....

    1) A fire truck is really big and loud as a Fat lady after having BEAN's

    2) People stopped at a green light

    3) WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! open your GodDamn EYES and drive. We are in america not europe drive GOOD

    4) This looks like a penis<---------------------3

  • @paolifireasst3 4) I Would go see a doctor then mate

  • that idiot in the red car, should be given a ticket for not stopping for an emergency vehicle. god the morons on the road today !

  • That jeep would have been a hot wheels car if they fire truck hit it

  • Jeezus!! He must have been standing on the brake pedal 'cause that truck stopped hella quick.

  • @FrogSteaks1 Yeah, thank god he followed policy and slowed down for the intersection!

  • his car slid a little...good thing they both stopped before they even met corner to corner..it shows good reflexs...something a driver needs

  • had a call the other week, my driver came to a stop with a car in the middle of a 4 way stop sign. she from and stopped in the middle of the intersection. when i wailed on the air horn, she had a dumbfounded look on her face, looked at me (officer seat), and threw a single arm in the air because the other was firmly fixed to her ear, cell phone in hand...pay attention, people!

  • moron in the red jeep, ur supposed to STOP IF YOU HEAR FIRE TRUCK, AMBULANCE, OR POLICE VEHICAL AND PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET THEM BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (idiot)

  • nice driving dumb ass

  • I once saw that happen to a cop. He was responding quickly down a parkway, doing maybe 75 in a 55, and some jackwad blew right into the intersection smack dab in front of the responding unit. The officer had to swerve up onto the raised grassy median, and fortunately he recovered and continued on his way.

  • @Jhosh1540 siren and red lights...means you stop not us....i already had a situation like this...we were going to an MVA and some idiot tried to cut us off....

  • Comment removed

  • @Josh1540 shut the hell up

  • @Josh1540 dude have you been in a fire before

  • maybe he wanted to see where the fire was O_o

  • time to check your pants !

  • And the red car is gone again -.-"

  • co za asy

  • People like that need to give there licence back to the DMV.

  • Maybe you should try stopping at intersections. Just because you have lights and sirens doesnt mean you can blow intersections without stopping first. A driver at my company would suspended in a heartbeat for that

  • @fire73rescue over here in Europe we normally slow down at red lights (or when there's no lights at all), but we don't have to stop. Actually we can also go over red traffic lights without slowing down that much.

  • thats a pretty open intersection 2 he should of seen them coming

  • what state are you in

  • @badkid595

Milwaukee, WI. city and state was listened in the discretion.

  • what a dull cunt in the jeep, fucking wake up .

  • dude i love walgreens

  • Wow that was close.Great driving by the fire truck. The guy in the SUV was probably on the phone, had music blasting and the heater on.

  • holy shit. cant tell you how dumb people aare.

  • @gamerbob34 "small red car vs. big red truck....hmmmm"

As you proceed with your GREEN signal, are you expecting another vehicle (matters not how big) to suddenly appear?

At a blind intersection, you won't notice it until it is entering the intersection.

The fire truck driver must be ready for that.

Even good drivers may not detect the siren early enough.

  • First check where the fire truck is, then stop. Don't have it smash into your rear.

  • dumb person everyone else stopped cause they could hear the sirens and im pretty sure u could hear them 2 so stop they r trying to save lives they r not going to the movies whats wrong with u?!

  • @MegaTitans101 Deaf people have driver licenses. Usually they compensate for thearing impairment and do well with emergency vehicles.

Also there are morons who make themselves "deaf" playing loud music.

When you see traffic stopped for a GREEN signal, if you have an IQ above your vehicle's Octane Rating, you might consider an emergency vehicle may be approaching.

    What was this dummy's excuse?

  • @robertgift Irrelevant, i keep going.

  • @robertgift im not sure but ur right even though this person was a bit stupid i shoukd have probably thought of deaf people

  • @MegaTitans101 Deaf individuals usually do a very well at compensating for thearing difficulty.

This may have been someone on their cell phone or making themselves "deaf" with stereo blasting witheater blowing.

  • @lokalexi1 u may b right

  • what a dumbass

  • ups! my pants!

  • that was close

  • Thumbs up to the driver of the truck for noticing the dumbass.

  • and the giant huge moron retard award goes to.. red SUV!

  • Ok, reading the comments below i see two sides: some say Emergency Vehicles dont need to stop, some say you do. Both are right. I'm a firefighter/AEMT-I in New York, now, according to New York Law ALL EV's MUST STOP at red lights/stop signs and proceed w/ due regard. BUT this law varies state to state, so, depending on what state this occured in the firefighters may be at fault, but the driver of the red car should have also seen him coming.

  • @piolet41

Do you actually have to stop?? In Canada I'm pretty sure they just have to proceed with extreme caution and can't go further unless safe to do so. AKA yield

  • @squallz13 If I can see that everyonelse hastopped, I do not stop.

Stopping increases response time and wastes everyonelse's time and fuel waiting for me to get out of their way.

Also, I use more fuel starting up from a stop, so more pollution and more vehicle wear and tear. Brakes often get hot in emergent runs!

When vehicles obstruct view of the lane behind them, I must slow enough that I can stop without hitting someone proceeding through their green signal. Snow makes it more fun!

  • @squallz13 In New York, you have to stop at all red lights, not until the light turns green, but until all vehicals yeild the right of way to you and it's saft to proceed.

  • @ thaaxe...Easy there firefighter. Be the professional. Citizens don't do this on purpose.

Glad this collision was avoided, and it took BOTH drivers to do it.

  • The EV driver didnt even slow down in preperation for the intersection...good thing BOTH parties were paying enough attention.

  • Reading the comments below shows that some people have no idea what the meaning of an EV is.... they have to get to EMERGENCIES as Quickly and as Safely as possible but with dicks like that on the road its hard.... secondly, EV's do not have to come to a complete stop at a red light if they are on an emergency run because then it would be completely pointless even having lights and sirens... they may aswell be normal civvie vehicles

  • Ha ha idiot did that where I live.

  • i don't think the driver said very nice words out the window.. lol

  • Mswincredible I couldn't agree more!!! And he didn't blow the air horn as a warning to let people know he was coming. The siren alone dosent do the trick and the air horn should announce your arrival. Someone is sitting in the back of the truck for real

  • @Phareal99 Ummmmm, yes he does, if you listen at the very start of the video, he is using the air horn from 0:01 until the car stops.

  • @Phareal99 are you serious? the Q siren is a 200 watt siren, that's twice the power of any ambulance or police car siren and you think them using a lower wattage air horn is the answer? The answer is for drivers to get their heads out of their @sses, turn the fu$%ing stereo down and pay attention to the road like you're supposed to when driving, or did you get your drivers license online?

  • If you hear a siren - Slow the fuck down.

  • @0Tanaka0 Why ? Unless cop is around i am ignoring it.

  • @0Tanaka0 or speed up, in case of narrow streets.....

  • @0Tanaka0 better yet if u hear a siren get the fuck out of the way

  • @christian18075 Watch your language please

  • Gosh damn that was crazy the firetruck had a good driver

  • Alot of you seem to think it was ok to blow the light. NFPA certified driver/operators would know that you must come to a complete stop at a red light intersection. I bet someone in that department is no longer driving fire trucks.

  • ummm doesn't help that the tower blew the light.. had he have just came to a stop that wouldn't have happened

  • sometimes, you wish that the people get hit, just so they can learn.... this is one of those times....

  • Big red truck, loud ass siren, really loud siren, bright flashing lights, A bunch of cars stopped at a GREEN light.... what part of that doesnt scream to you GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!!!! were trying to save lives, why do you force us to nearly take them

  • @thaaxe You would think that they know the big read truck WILL win

  • @thaaxe Some morons don't understand what we're doing, unbelievable. Happens all the time here when people do not move out of our way while responding.

  • @thaaxe they should take it from that driver. he fails at driving

  • @thaaxe

People make mistakes. So, expect them and stay cool when they happen. Makes your job easier :-)

  • @thaaxe What part doesn't scream at you that i do not give a crap. No cop=no foul=I do not give a crap that you got a siren on your vehicle.

  • @001looker Haha. Now thathey have dashcams, you can be charged and receive a big fine and points. Cop need not be present.

  • @robertgift Oh really? Let me educate you on the law. Register owner of the vehicle is not responsible for the action of the driver. Being that register owner might or might not be the driver, police officer need to witness the violation and pull over the vehicle in order to issue a ticket. Video of the vehicle is not enough to issue a ticket. So no that dash cam is not going to be use to issue a ticket. Sorry to disappoint you.

  • @001looker Correct. Must ID the DRIVER of the vehicle in violation.

Sign a complaint. PD delivers citation to the Registered Owner.

RO goes to court to prove under oathat he is NOT the driver.

Owner may, but need not, ID the driver.

PD has followed us and pulled over idiots.

Big fine and 4 points, or more if egregious, plus Victim's Assistance and court costs.

All because moron did not yield a few seconds of his/her precious time to help someone in need - such as a choking baby.

  • @robertgift Everything you said is correct. My vehicle is register on corp name. The register owner is the corp and not me. I can easily sent my lawyer to represent the corp and the ticket will dismissed.

  • @001looker Hahahaha. You'd cause your "corp" far more money in legal fees than the citation?

    Hahahaha.

And you still may be identified and get your four or more points.

But then you can always have your chauffeur drive you.

  • @robertgift Well no i would not cost legal fees to my corp as initially i can do it by mail. In my state you can fight tickets by mail for free. It's very unlikely I can be id through corp. We have fought red light cameras ticket and they all been dismissed.

  • @001looker You'd rather waste the court's time and effort?

You'd rather waste far more time fighting citations than losing the few seconds yielding to EVs, or 50 seconds to red signals?

    Haha. What fools.

    What is your "corp"?

  • @robertgift It's just a letter. Corp can't be driving as it's not a real person. Yet in eyes of the court it's a person. So basically if ticket is issue on the corp it's easy to say it wasn't the one driving as it do not have a driver license.

  • @001looker Hahaha

    Why waste court's time?

    Why waste corp's time?

Why afraid to name the corp?

    Are you faking bad English?

  • @robertgift Why wasted court's time? Ask the officer that sign off on the ticket.

@Why waste the corp's time? Not really wasting its time as corp technically is not a real person.

As for not having the corp, it means no longer anonymity on the youtube which means i can't say what I want to say.

Regarding my english, i do not proof read what i write on the internet.

  • @thaaxe

they were probably busy putting on their makeup, drinking their coffee and talking on the phone all at the same time

  • holy shit i wonder what it would be like if they hit

  • I hope that idiot spilled their coffee all over themselves when they slammed on the brakes

  • @mrskillz8910 ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha :D

  • What a dousche

  • Dome People try to beat a train....others a firetruck...WHY shitty drivers? Why???

  • I know I have the right of way when I'm responding but I'm always ready to stop even at a green light. People do strange things when they panic, and that siren makes a lot of people panic.

  • Emergency Vehicles have the Right of Way and you can be ticketed for failing to Yield to them. people need to use their mirrors, get off the cell phone, and turn down their music.

  • @Dthorn912 actually, they ask for others to yield. they dont get the right of way. its a common misconception. Im taking a patient transport class and we talk about "rules of the road" when it comes to emergency vehicles and/or ambulences.

  • @Ren17183 knowing you can be fined if you don't yield, I am 99% sure you have to yield.

  • @Ren17183 :: He is right. Emergency Vehicles get right away.

  • PEOPLE IF YOU HEAR A FIRE TRUCK COMING FROM ANY WARES STOP AND LOOK AROUND JEZZ

  • Firefighters #FTW

  • someone did that to us but we just kept going one time, we are emergency vehicles if you in the way too bad

  • dumb jerk

  • Pause this video at 0:07 and you will see that this driver/engineer went through a red light. The light in the opposite direction is green. It is probably safe to say that most departments SOP's and most state laws state that an emergency vehicle must come to a complete stop at a RED light prior to entering the intersection and then only proceed with caution when the driver knows it is safe a clear to proceed regardless, running lights and sirens or not.

    18yr Professional Firefighter

  • @cfp176 really? :o at out station we get there we dont stop along the ways for anything or anyone

  • Blaze That Airhorn On the Intersection for a good 5- 10 seconds!! Lol

  • STUPID DRIVERS YOU KNOW THE DRIVER OF THE SUV ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK THANK GOD HE BLEW THAT HORN THAT WILL TEACH HER A LESSON
