I am old enough to remember when it was all in Latinl. What is this fasination with the Old TLM? I am getting married for the second time next June and we wll have some of the old and it wil be very very dignified. However I am happy we can all understand it and while I belive in choce in how one's wedding should be it saddens me that people want to returen to the öld days". Blessing to you both
A wonderful, beautiful, decent and dignified REAL Catholic wedding. It moved me deeply. Thank you!
I have never been to Novus Ordo mass in Latin before. It looks very fine. I left the Church because of the undignifed circus and returned - THANK GOD!!! - when His Holiness restored the Tridentine. Our church has had the High Altar restored and the other altar taken away. I sing in the choir which, I think, is as fine as yours.
wow! what a wonderful catholic wedding i've seen, i hope mine will be like this someday..... i love the part y'all went to the Blessed Mary statue to pray too. wish y'all a blessed and fufilled married life. What God has joined together especially in the one and holy Catholic Church, no man Can put assunder. Ave Maria!
Yes this was a novus ordo mass in latin. As far as I know, removal of the high altar was never madatory after Vatican II. As far as the vestments I think it is the same, our priest would never do anything that was forbidden. At the time of our wedding, the TLM was not allowed in Detroit. :(
OMG then the Tridentine was availibe just days after your wedding. On July 7th 2007 the Pope released a statement saying that its no longer the Bishop's juristiction on the Tridentine. It didn't take effect until September 14th though.
The Council Fathers never ever said nothing about replace the traditional latin mass that was a wrong idea of liberals catholic that mayority of faithfull dont know.Pax.(Congratulations u wedding was beautiful and spiritual.God bless u)
Yes this was a Novus Ordo Latin mass, thus why there was no double genuflection. We were married 8/2007, the pope did not open up the use of the traditional mass until a month after we were married. If it would have been allowed we would of had the traditional mass.
Someone hacked into my account and left the previous post! I tried to see about deleting it - - but I can't - - only you can. I'm sorry for any hurt feelings. - Debbie
