  • Interesting. I never thought about the mathematics of the game but really, the swing is you creating an arch which ever way possible so you can maintain the club head speed "Grip important in maintaining the arch as well " which ever way you can do best at that. My club head speed is 103mph clocked at golf galaxy so there for I would want a wider arch and a 10.5 deg. driver creating a higher launch off the Tee and 10 or so more yrds more off that first bounce. Nice video man

  • The key to lowering your handicap is the stretch, check out the brand new golf specific TRAINERmat at

  • i agreed with Alex....i prefer to choke down a little...not too much....it gives me better control...try that guys...have fun golfing

  • is it okay to choke down (not too much) on all of the clubs (except for the putter) like anthony kim. Im very interested on his "choking down" swing.

  • Sure, it's okay, even with the putter. If it works for Anthony, it can work for other people. That's actually how some Tour guys take a little distance off an iron if they need to...choke down on the club.

I'd practice it a little on the range first, though. Choking down on the club changes how it will feel when you swing it. You might also need to squat down a little bit more too so that the lie angle of the club doesn't change at impact.

  • im 14 with a nike sumo 13 degrees driver im not strong or tall just average, i cant hit my driver for shit right now but on good shots itll go 210-240, and does length of the club screw your swing up at all because i like tall drivers but people say i top the ball

  • It's depends on the person as to what length of a driver they can handle. Longer length drivers can typically hit the ball farther, but they are also often harder to hit consistently in the middle of the clubface. If you miss the sweet spot by just an inch, you can cost yourself a lot of distance. Personally, for regular golf I like 44-44.5" drivers...but it's up to you what length you go with!

  • Hi,

I have a Clevland Launcher 10.5 deg loft. People say tee the ball higher to get more distance. But, when I tee the ball higher, I hit it up not farther. Ball doesn't go beyond 100 yards. So, I started teeing lower. Do you know what swing change I need to make? I tried lifting the club up to match the center with the ball. I was not consistent. Please give some tips.

  • It's a little hard to say without seeing your swing. Do you have any video of your swing?

  • The tip you've received is false. Think of your swing as a pendulum. The further you swing forward the higher your club moves from the ground. Here's my tip to you : If you feel as though higher tee'd ball position gives you more distance, then you should place the ball further forward in your stance to match the height. Find your balance and work on it from there.

  • Thanks, glad to help. :-)

  • I will give that a try! Great video!!!
