@GrosNoob06 I didn't own a video camera at the time, so it was stills shot by a friend, checkout the Iceland vids on my page that are video, tell me what you think.
lucky boys getting all that time on these great bikes in such picturesc scenery, have you thought about the new 2008 tenere as an option or an update?
I've read a very mixed reviews about the new tenere ..... it looks great but apparently it is not good at all .... top heavy, vibrates a lot, only 48 hp for over 200 kilo wet weight, handling issues due 21 inch front wheel, uncomfortable standing riding position because the bars are too low and so on .... but comfy seat, fairing works, should be reliable .... mcn gave it 3 stars out of 5 only which is not good at all ....
@a6km Manufacturers have to make bike to fit all.Give me a break,"It vibrates to much!",it's a fecking single cylinder!!As for bars, front wheel etc,set it up to your preference,if you like high bars,i dont, buy some bar risers Cheapskate! If you prefer a 19" wheel, buy a rim!Very few bikes dont need money spent on them, especilly with noise and emission regs!If you're going to use it for Adventure Touring, strip it bare and build it the way you want it,re-inforce the frame etc, even if it's new!
Thanks Gerry, if its road riding only then the 950 sm any day of the week, but it you may wish to tour or hit the dirt then the 640 adventure is great, my good friend edog200 has a one I have a 640 enduro with a 28 ltr tank, 320 miles between fills, you have choosen 2 great bikes, I,ll leave it open to any other comments from other users
mate i wish i would know im looking to do some outback touring for example cameron corner, or from bourke to broken hill via the dirt road etc and so on but bmw adventure is out of my budget so i thought a new tenere might be a good option but there are very mixed opinions about it it looks like the bike looks much better then it actually is ..... plus its not available in oz but why i have no clue .....
Been in the Alps the last two summers on my Ducati Monster. Not exactly the ideal touring bike but good fun on the mountain roads. Have decided to sell it and get myself a Tenere before the summer. Looks like I'll have a few new trails to discover this summer in the mountains. Nice vid!
Lucky for me a few of the guys I went with had done some of the trails before and we also found some more that took us into Italy, all are marked on the maps. Mind you the roads are awesome in the mountains anyway.
Part of this ride was up the Colle de Sommeiller, which is the location for the Stella Rally (Goggle). On the day we went up it was blocked by ice and snow, so we had to turn round. Shame I didn,t get to meet you Oz !
