four stroke technology just hasn't evolved enough yet. they're still heavy and slow. torque is unbeleivable, but my brothers Crossfire 800HO will overtake a Nytro XTX and is much lighter.
We just towed an AC 800 triple TWENTY-SEVEN MILES out of the woods with an Apex. Coolant pump blew somewhere around 100mph on a railbed.
I was doing 113mph on the Apex, then stopped... and waited... and waited... nothing. 0_0 ...Whipped it around and sprinted back. Never thought I'd be so happy to see a sled with the hood up, if you know what I mean.
I have to agree about the Apex being a great sled. I own a Rev 800HO and my father owns a Apex GT, The Rev is nice for a beater, but I ride the Apex whenever my father isn't. The next sled I buy will be a 4 stroke Yamaha.
It is heavy but honestly it doesn't bother me. Its not that they make more torque than a 2 stroke, they just do it different way. Much smoother & flatter torque curve. I'll never buy a two stroke again.
if your a novice looking for a sled, run away from a yamaha. buy yourself a REV, but if you know what your doing, and want to really have fun and turn heads, buy one of these
i have a 04 Warrior and it is incredible. will NEVER buy a two stroke again either. i know what your saying about the torque curve. everyone thinks it just has more torque and no power, but its so smooth and the power is even, throughout the entire RPM range.
beats alot of sleds on lakes and in the powder even.
In this video, just my ram air kit and the sled is studded. At the end of last year i put a pioneer clutch kit in it. Made a nice improvement in the bottom end but it didn't help much for top end.

What about low end and mid range are they the same? or better?

@700triplesrx Low end and mid range will improve just by the added airflow, the topend is where it really starts to come alive.

@cmaninos Yes you will see in icrease 5-7mph wide open throttle is a typical gain.
