Gotta love the haters, praying that Miami gets the death penalty. Don't depend on the NCAA to do the job your weak programs couldn't do.
Sorry to disappoint you, but Miami will not get the death penalty. But hey, anything to distract people from the nonsense going down in the SEC on a daily basis.

oh iwas there & remember this play in the 3rd quarter... we had possession of that ball for 11 CONSECUTIVE MINUTES. & capped it off with a td. only at the []__[] baby
@TheFreshTrumpet Haha yeah he does that a lot though. We led the NCAA in interceptions and he was most of it. Hopefully he can get better with some good coaching though.
And how many players from this Miami squad received degrees? Hahahah! I'm not even sure The "U" is actually an institution of higher learning anymore. Is it? Can you actually get a diploma there?
It's funny how Miami fans can talk shit because of one blown coverage by one of our defensive backs while Notre Dame still has more National championships and Heisman winners. I guess you guys are just a little bitter about the 31-30 Notre Dame win the year before? hahahahahahaha
@m2diggs we weren't "handed" a national championship. We were a great team all the way into the early 90's. we deserved that championship because even if we had a call go our way, we still beat the shit out of everyone else. and we still have more national championships and heisman trophy winners. Nobody can deny that notre dame is one of the greatest football programs ever. even if our record doesn't show that right now
@tehvaonmas Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy.watch the play again and tell that wasn't a BS call.i'm not denying that Notre Dame team was great but Miami got screwed plain and simple.Catholics vs. Convicts...you're telling me there wasn't favoritism there?come on now.
@tehvaonmas Yall have more championships because ND has been around ever since the early cavemen ..YOURE OLD AS SHIT lol, we won 5 in lest than 20 years
@italstallion06 Miami Qb was sacked and fumbled, the ball was knocked backwards 30 yards in the scramble. Devon McDonald of ND tried to pick up the fumble and run it in, which was not allowed at that time. Probably the key play of the game because if McDonald had just fallen on the ball as opposed to attempting to pick it up, ND would have had a first and goal, trailing 17-10. Instead, Miami went to have an 8 minute drive (after the Hill catch) for a TD to make the score 24-10
Hey, Baldwin..If you're going to make cracks about UMiami, at least know what you're talking about. We're top 10 in the nation in APR in regards to football programs, even back in the era documented in "The U", we were one of the few schools graduating over 70% of our players. However, continue to spout nonsense, it's entertaining.
look at the end of the play, how randall hill pushes his own teammate away while runs back onto the field to get the praise from the crowd. What a tool. If you need evidence that Randall Hill is a tool, just watch the ESPN 30 for 30 about the canes, He still embraces all of BS antics that he did when he was a 19year old kid. Being 19 and doing and saying stupid is forgivable, being an adult and confirming your behavior 20 years later just makes him look like the idiot he is.
@rwoods2k The kid caught an amazing pass against cover 4. I think he's allowed to celebrate. @level3statedept Notre Dame has been hung over for 22 years. They've won a grand total of one bowl game in the last 16 years. They're not hung over. They're just irrelevant.
I watched this on TV in a hotel room in Columbia, SC, while on pass from Ft. Jackson. Big Miami fan at the time. I was talking to my dad. He heard me go crazy. Thank you so much for the flashback.
At that time, it is possible that Randall Hill was the fastest man in the world. Notice that Erickson took very little time to deliver the ball. Thats how fast Hill was
I remember this game... I was working that night and the bar in the restaurant where I was working had the game on. Miami football was magical back then.
Those days were amazing! But I think the Ken Dorsey Canes were in the same mold and tradition of the 80's and 90's Canes. They just weren't allowed to be as flamboyant but those teams were so stacked with play makers. I think if either Butch Davis had stayed or they would have gone with someone other than Larry Coker they may have maintained that dominance for even longer.
These where the days, I remember getting stuck at the mall and rushing home to see the game and when I turned on the TV, I saw the fumble then this play, we where screaming so loud the neighbors told me they heard us.
I remember watching that game live. Man those were the Good times. We took them all on, FSU, NOTRE DAME, MICHIGAN... I love UM Football. Bernard Clark, Jesse Armstead, Sean Taylor, Andre Johnson.. Ray Lewis, Andre Reed.. Man I love the U.
Notre Dame is always getting spewed on their back. Their used to it from their Catholic Priest getting plenty of practice. Oh, I'm sorry, that was a little harsh.
What a game that was in 89'...Loudest football game i have ever been to...the Orange bowl was amazing that night...the stands were full 45 minutes prior to kick off and no one sat down the entire game...my ears were ringing for a week
In 1988, Notre Dame actually should have won 31-24. The last TD by Miami's receiver was a drop. Look at the replay, the ball comes right out on the 4th down TD. The refs spotted Miami a TD and then came the great dramatics of Patrick Terrell. The man who smoked Miami earlier in the game, cleaned up the referees mess.
Is that the same game where they refs said Cleveland Gary fumbled before he crossed the goal line? It was clear on the replay that he crossed the goal before he fumbled. So if they blew both of those calls in the same game then it was a even trade.
Yes it was the same game and I agree with you. I was responding to the Miami fans who call the ND win controversial when in fact the refs made up for the call. I completely agree with you vdogg43 it was an even trade.
