@disneydanny2, you should have said that the Scooby Doo song resembles this song, as "Simon Says" came out a year earlier. But "bubblegum" music was the big thing back then.
you should hear the album of these songs covered by Peter Pan Pop Singers and Orchestra - the album is called "The Unicorn" and it is on here, look for it!!!
I was very young and my sister had these song in a 45 and I loved it. Well my sister passed away about 17 yrs ago and I love to play it, because it reminds me of her.
@radicright 1910 Fruitgum company had several really good songs another one I love is 1 2 3 Redlight, Yummy, yummy, yummy, Indian Giver, really under rated band. I love 1910 Fruitgum Company.
I was only 10 when this song first came out. I just love this song. Unfortunately, my teacher that year, Mrs. Grotz, passed away one year ago this month. That's right. I was in her class when this song first came out.
my sister use to have this record!? lol she would play it over and over? i would request it all the time :) i miss those days when you bought a song and it meant something :)
@MacAggy You can love any group or song that you want, no one is limited to any one genre. I love bubblegum, pop, rock, glam rock, country,r and b,classical, jazz, gospel, if I like the song that is what counts.
I got to see them and Ohio Express in concert in the summer 1968 in Waterloo, Iowa. It was a full house and the music was great and made you feel so good. Thats what I always remember is how the music made you feel. Happy and good about yourself no matter how silly it seems today.
has anyone else noticed that the music played during the verses bears a striking resemblance to "Scooby Doo Where Are You?"

I was a tenth grader in 1968 and recall this group doing a good number of tv shows. they had several big hits....they weren't just "one hit wonders."
