Wonder if he sang this opera in the early days of his career in Sweden. The tenor role has many beautiful moments, of which this is of course the most beautiful.

I believe this recording was made when he was 24. If that's right this is among his very first recordings. It has never been surpassed. Of course Bjoerling had been singing professionally for almost twenty years at this time. He started pretty young!
