@wildkyler95 I was just saying, a Yugo has just about the same torque but it won't do a burnout. Sometimes HP will be more beneficial than torque. Case in point: Look at Nascar, it isn't torque that is as important than HP. Nascar uses a higher gear which produces less torque than HP, but they will still do a burnout. I'm not talking about when they powerbrake, there is times when they can do a burnout just by standing on it.
@wildkyler95 Another example, my brother had an 88 mustang with a four cylinder. He put a 5.43 gear in it so he could do burnouts. Guess what. His car still wouldn't do it. It still needed HP to increase the torque. He then dropped in a 302 and WALLA, he could do awsome burnouts then. Most not all but most of the time HP and torque coinside together for maximum results.
@surrynet I've seen a four cylinder mustang do plenty of burnouts, it was probably too low geared, or your brother cant drive, and please dont post a comment telling me about how your brother can drive, and hes drove all these fancy cars, that hes probably never sat in.
@wildkyler95 Are you trying to be a smartass?. I wasn't being a smartass to you. Why do people like you always have a smartass answer to just throw out?. Be cool man, you know nothing about me. But I will tell you one thing. I do know about cars, I have retired from GM, I was a mechanic for one of the biggest dealers in Winston Salem, N.C..I didn't post any smartass remark to you, so why post them to me?.Class goes a long way to the public.
@wildkyler95 Also is this YOUR CHANNEL? Where do YOU get off telling people not to post. I think I just met the troll of YOUTUBE. You can post back anything you like, I won't belittle myself responding back to you.
Like old times. Back in early 80s had a friend who owned a Dart. In Auto Shop he parked the car over tranny fluid then dropped the clutch. Smoke filled the auto shop. Best times EVER!
my buddy had 1 like this but blue he bought it off a really old guy 4 like 600 bucks shure it needed a new paint job and floor boads but man what a beast and he was only 16 we used 2 cruse in that all the time then the kid went 2 jail and his old man sent it 2 the crusher
@NiggaRich313 lol well no matter what mopar for the win right? But on what will win depends on what is in both of the cars also but I love the chargers what I would do to own one..
Dude I honestly wonder why u went to the effort to even put this under your YT name when its not the right car and you make a fool out of yourself. She's a Dart skeeter, get your shit together.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it probably is a duck. I dont care what they call it elsewhere it's an american made dart. looks good though.
a 440 is my dream, but if its a lot of money for someone in the US, imagine to someone who needs to import it to a foreign country (and needs to buy dollars to do so, in a rate of U$1 to R$2.70 - R$ is the brazilian currency) ...
I know a 318 isn't much, but its what we've got, since there are too many difficulties to get a larger engine.
Damn.....sounds like along way away, hopefully theres a cheap one out there, id sure as hell like a 440 for $200 lol but thats going to be one hell of a find....
318 engines are something like the standard Chrysler smallblocks.
and it's really complicated and expensive to import crate engines (and cars) to Brasil... so we do what we can with the 318 (in fact, the 318 is kind of a legend here, for it's the biggest engine we have).
I do have the intention to mount my own bigblock dart, importing an engine and adapting it to our national darts... but that's gonna take a while to happen
REALLY?! a 318 is the biggest engine u guys have?! u can build one up but....its just not the same is what im trying to say, id always be a 318 no matter how much u build it up, well to me anyway, id like to buy a 440 but they are alot of money......
a 440 is my dream, but if its a lot of money for someone in the US, imagine to someone who needs to import it to a foreign country (and needs to buy dollars to do so, in a rate of U$1 to R$2.70 - R$ is the brazilian currency) ...

You can just about put anything in there if you like. Just trying to say that some cars work better if you keep with the smallblocks. You want a car made for bigblock engines, buy a Charger, not a Dart, is my advice. But by all means, this is up to you. Mr. Norm did them with hemis if i recall it correctly, wich would be a much better choice than a 440 in my opinion. Anyways to me, a Dart is a car built for performance, as it has a rel. compact frame in US-terms at least.
I believe Mr. Norm's darts came with a 440 and special "bandaging" all over the car, espically across the back..i think it had a strip that said Mr. Norms 440 Magnum Dart, but i am not sure....i remeber the Hemi dart super stock you could get from the factory but i dont think i remeber Mr. Norm building hemi's? Not sure on that, would have to do some research on it. I agree a dart is built with performance. A Vortex Supercharger on a 340 would make quite the suprise on the quarter mile...
@saror71 in 1968, He pioneered putting in the 383 which crysler said could not be done. He then brought it to the factory to see. Later (1969, I think), he put in a 440. He put in 340 6bbl for 1971 Dodge Demon. 1972 was the lower compression 340 w/ the Paxton supercharger.
Yep, Ive got a '72 Dodge Dart Custom with a 318. Not going with a 340 or anything, sticking with the 318. Heck, ive even seen some fast moving Slant sixes running 12's in the 1/4 mile.
In Brazil, Chrysler created a modified version of the '68 Dart. There where made some modifications on the car's structure... extended C columns, modified front - aproaching to the concept of the '68 & '69 [American] Charger - some modifications to the 318 engine and so on... So, here in Brazil we've got Darts and modified Darts named Chargers by Chrysler itself... Later ('79), Chrysler redesigned our darts AND chargers (the brazilian version) using some of the '71 Dart Swinger lines.
Thats interesting, i did not know that Chrysler had a branch of there company there, thats cool to know thanks for the info, id like to buy one with a Hemi if i could
So would I! But in Brazil dodges where only equipped with the 318 (and, unfortunately, it's the biggest engine ever made here... that forces any mopar lover to, if decided to go through all the head ache, import big block engines from the US). Every car with an engine above 318 had to be imported... and that really sucks
318 engines are something like the standard Chrysler smallblocks.

It's a good ol' American early 70's Dart Swinger. The badge on the right fender behind the wheel says so, plain and simple. Has nothing to do with Australia, ffs.
thats a 70-75 dodge dart, the 68's were sold in australia as a valiant coupe, they were neer sold as a 'charger', we had our own special charger based on the same floorpan as the '68
Nope... It's just I've never layed eyes on a swinger before and the lights in the bumper seemed to be a GM only thing. So I made a mistake, shit happens.
sick burn, i bet i could come close to that with my 318 '78 half ton....dodge power ftw
