    That is not the objective. Your recommendation would have a perfectly milled part that would stick out like a sore thumb. The part should be replicated like the original with manual design flaws and would blend in with the other parts.

  • Or the better faster more accurate way to model this very basic object would be go buy a cheap vernier, then measure the object and draw it manually. It's nothing more than 4 extrudes, 1 draft or sweep (take your pick which), 4 holes and a few fillets, total time about 20 minutes

  • That part may very well not be machinable. Its is very deep relative to the outer diameter, and 3D in nature. Casting is the only way to exactly duplicate the part.

  • How much would a part like that cost?

  • the exact same amount as it would cost to take your Solidworks file to a CNC mill. Probley cheaper considering you dont have to invole foundry work.
