Aanyone who says they shouldn't dance are completely wrong, being interactive and physical with your music is a fantastic way to do things, and make things modern.
@ledormant hahaha! Go for the exceptional case, why don't you. I suppose if I were to be a smart ass I'd say that the effect that the dancing is having on the musicians themselves in being expressive might be enough to be heard by the blind. But otherwise... I guess you've got me there >:)
Hahahahahah this is the demonstration that the recorder is such a stupid and useless instrument that you need to do all that idiot movements and faces to try to make it interesting (and anyway they failed!!!!)
@ledormant Actually, you are incorrect. There is a distinct difference between music alone and music accompanied with a visual, and today's youth are increasingly only consuming music that is accompanied with a visual. They see movies or watch music videos or see ridiculously over-produced live shows, and THEN buy the album. This music is actually good, and the group has decided to produce a visual so the music can appeal to a wider audience. Not a bad idea, considering it's a recorder quartet.
@nickr753 First off, do know that I am never incorrect. Second off, these ugly girls who are badly dressed and ridiculously move around should only play music. They are good musicians and it’s largely sufficient. If you think that the fact they move like flee-infested bears is appealing, you should telephone James Levine and ask him to dance the next time he conducts an opera.
@nickr753 I mis-spelt flea but I speak ten languages. Ok, you have noticed my mistake but you haven’t discussed my post. You danced instead of singing !
@ledormant Agreed. It's probably because this is more a study in internet trolling than it is a debate. In light of that, the only way I can possibly imagine bringing cadence to this discussion is by saying "I'd totally do the cute one."
We get TTBB, SSAB (or is it SSTB or SATB?), BBBB, BBGC, and AAAA voicing in one big medley! It's always fun to see how different register voicings give a different character to the music.
You guys shred. I loved this recording, esp. 11/8 modern insanity. Also great Telemann Quartet 4tet in D (Allegro) - burning! I also love your movement - makes me think of Orff method for big kids... :) And is that a contra-bass recorder??!
@goodguysdoll what on earth are you talking about? They lift the music off the page, for starters, memorize it and internalize it so they can perform it so well. That first piece was incredibly difficult. If they were reading, it wouldn't have the same great feel to it.
This is an ultimate success in art, presentation and sound, talent, skill, and unique expression. Thank you...I don't know when I've enjoyed any program more than this one. Fantastic ladies, superb!
I love the marketing technique. And they are skilled and musical. Finally someone has admitted that music IS made through the body. It is one and the same.
how can you have such a week opinion about art, thats how everything starts until it becomes a tradition, you have to learn to be creative too, show us what you can do, I bet the only good thing you can do is to give a negative criticism, nobody will remember you for that
you can make cool celtic music with recorder :) the tone of it gives it something straight from ancient times, but i agree that this modern stuff is kinda weird, and so are theyre moves.
@goodguysdoll Ya, those dead guys sure care a lot. Actually sir, these wonderful musicians are keeping it fresh... not DEAD like those guys in pine boxes...
Ahahah they really are incredible! They sound crazy at first but its very cool the modern way they play. The part I like the most is the last, the Telemann one! =D
For an age that can't hear but gets all it's information through the TV,this is a logical approach.A video and arrangement designed to keep our minds off the music(which is worthy of attention),and our own inability to hear it.I predict that they'll go far this way...I.E.They'll make a living!
