Sony's goal to put Samsung down is with technology that the old RCA left behind in a way of a tecnology called GothicSharpness means the darkest color with the brightest contrast developed by Sony Labs(Old RCA) in Indianopolis, Indiana both use in RCA and Sony branded TVs those models will be called Bravia for Sony and LX 1000 for RCA models Sony will sell more on with the RCA brand than the Sony brand even though they bought Aiwa and killed the brand but the RCA brand will never die.
The old RCA was developing new technology but then their is OnElectronics a subcontractor to make shitty and also good models of RCA TVs Sony has put RCA down and now that Samsung has put Sony down when Samsung starts selling TVs in Japan again then Sony will look to the profiles of sophisticated technology planed by the old RCA that left behind and this time Sony will help RCA out and it will let an American icon to be put in the map Sony's goal is to put Samsung down.
Its sad to hear people talking shit about RCA well I had an RCA CRT TV back in 2000 and it works fine well the LX100 series was known back then and ColorTrack as of now Sony sees opportunity on pruchasing the RCA the shit talk has happend is when Thompson let contracters to make shitty models lately it was a Thompson product when GE aquired the brand to make TVs for GE it seems that RCA has a bright future ahead of them so Sony is getting the oppurtunity to purchase the RCA brand.
@7609497 I'm glad Walmart dropped RCA. I have been telling people for years to stay away from RCA. I also came across a 52 inch rear projection RCA somebody left by a dumpster. The whole deflection board needed to be replaced and I got lucky enough to get 2 refurbished boards. It doesn't appear anything else is wrong with it. Lucky find I guess.
@mrlichenstein I have an RCA TV for 8 years and the TV is on the hands of another dude that TV I bought it around 11 years ago a 27inch RCA tube TV and I bet those old RCA TVs still work now I got a Sony 40 inch LCD TV and they make great HDTVs well it seems that RCA does not make their own TVs anymore they are now being sold as a rebadged Sony it seems that Sony someday will purchase the RCA brand and probably future RCA TVs will be made by Sony !
@Embargoman Maybe that will finally bring the popularity back to RCA. For the last decade at least RCA has been associated with some of the worst companies in the US and even worse the parts used are all cheap Chinese stuff. So maybe when people learn of this they will begin to trust RCA again.
@mrlichenstein Well RCA was America's Sony back then and it had its day even for the golden years RCA is the oldest television brand ever but later on after Thompson diceded to manufactured some to some Hong Kong based company just to make crap well my RCA TV that I had in 2000 has been kicking ass. Now that Sony is on the line eating dirt from Samsung, in 2012 when Samsung enters Japan's TV market Sony will buy full assets of RCA and then they'll develop technology from the old RCA .
@mrlichenstein Yes some RCA TVs are made by the Taiwan based Amtran but they waterdown the brand and favors more on Vizio and JVC what was left of the old RCA was development of the most sharpest TV technology when Sony gets the files after Samsung's introductory into the Japanese TV market soon Sony's development in TV technology labs will move to Indiana and its US headquaters will be in Indiana to be called Sony Coportation TV division instead of Sony Eelctronics.
@mrlichenstein In 2012 when Samsung hits Japan's TV market then Sony knows about the old RCA and its purchase of what was left this will hellp Sony be on top in Japan and also Sony will let RCA bring it back to its glory days the Television development divsion of Sony will move to Indianopolis, Indiana where the orginal RCA headquaters is located.
@KolerikRocks Dman you got some of the bad ones now Sony is doing a project to fix the problem they are getting ready to purcase the RCA brand by 2012 !
i go the same tv, works fine bout a half our... then tv goes black but theres still sound!!!! any PLEASE send me a message and let me know the problem!!!! PLEASE!!!! LOL.
@Webcat10 RCA is the oldest TV brand of all time well in 2012 Sony will purchase RCA then the old RCA technology left behind will help Sony also to comptete against Samsung just wait and see when Samsung enters Japan's TV market in 2012 and that way you should not talk shit about RCA because Sony will bring it to its glory days so this is the time when RCA comesback in its glory days like back in the 1950's so everyone should not talk shit about the oldest TV brand in history !
@Embargoman how old is RCA doesn't mean much to me. When you pay $1200.00 for something and it last for 14 mths and you suddenly realize that all the RCA stuff you bought has lasted for 12 to 18 moths, one can call it whatever it needs to be called. I just wonder what's the point with Sony buying such a piece of junk. Are they opening an RCA museum what ? That's all it's good for.
I just got one free too, almost the exact same set. The digital ATSC signal looks perfect, but anything analog has the convergence bowed at the top and bottom. Is this the same problem yours had?
where is the fuse area anyways....we could use aluminm foil too right? i dont have picture but only audio.....is it a fuse problem or a internal prob and can you fix that and how/
my RCA HDTV 52" TV when i turn it on is ok but then later star going off and then on, what is the problem, how can i fix it, if anybody can help me, thanks for your time.
fixed one like that, 2 days later, set died. goes into shutdown. HV comes up, then falls back down. After troubleshooting and disabling the saftey feedback for the deflection shutdown, picture appears to be dim and way out of focus. Flyback gets hot. Culprit: Flyback.
keep this in mind becuase if the TV ran with cracked solder for an extensive period, flyback will be slightly damaged and windings will short. you will see this symptom ALOT....
@therockkkkher I know I'm a few months behind but a flyback is the high voltage transformer that powers the CRT. They are extremely dangerous if not discharged so if you mess with them be careful.
@alljackedup408 thanks man now i can fix the same tv i got for free today, thought i was going to have to pay 300+. Your vid saved my wallet thanks man!
@acuragsr4 Same here green light turns on three times and that's it. I replaced a blown cap but that didn't fix it, still same thing? Will try the to check all the solder points though. Thanks. AllJackedUp408
