I'm not really sure how to describe making your own pattern. All the different parts in amigurumi are basically just different shapes you sew together. Once you've made a few, you kind of know how many inc/dec you need to do to make a head for example. Just get a picture of the character you want to make and break it up into the different shapes and start from there. The key is in the details. So mess around with different hair types and clothing ideas until your character takes shape.

Thanks so much for sharing. Btw can you please help me out I need to learn to make my own patterns because I have 4 kids two boys and two girls. All with different tastes. I would love to make them special items or charaters. Please please please can you give me a clue of how I can make my own Patterns. I've asked others with no responce.
