When I was a kid in 1950s England we had a wind-up gramaphone, and this was one of the records we played on it; it was my favourite, and I can still remember how upset I was when it was broken. I've been looking for it on and off ever since, but always came up with Tchaikovsky's march. Thanks so much for posting this; nostalgia was never better.
@smnwlkr1. It's great that it brought back memories for you. I can send it to you if you send you email add, I will wipe it when finished. Thanks for viewi#ing and thanks for the interesting comment.
Thanks for posting this tune. Great memories for me. Looked up Jessej and discovered that the original name was Parade of the Wooden Soldiers and became Parade of the tin Soldiers. What a great day it was when I first got a tin soldier. All the wooden ones went in the bin.
@bladnik.yes i used to have some base metal soldiers when i was a pup too, and i cleaned all the lead paint off them when i put them in my mouth and sucked on them. I heard this tune on the Childrens hour on the BBC radio quite often and i still like to listen to it and enjoy it today.
