  • LOL!

    Episode 2 I think!

  • @exclusiveforus Ok Thanks! :)

  • What episode is this? :)

  • @antaloliver Horns of Nimon

  • Very funny, I actually just watched this episode but I like the face he makes as the TARDIS goes cookoo.

  • Hilarious!!! LOL!!!

  • one of the funniest scenes in DW ever, except for the 'not computable' line. Tom Baker was a comic genius at times

  • seems the more "fun" they have making it, the more it sux to everyone else. How could this not be "fun". In eigth grade, we did crap that was "fun" too, and everyone but us, thought it sucked! We had fun! How do you get dry ice to stay in your pick up truck with all your fake floats during the school parade and go from 0 30 mph in less than 10 seconds? Well, you don't get it to.

  • xD odd rofl

  • LMAO!

  • Well I thought it was funny. But then I also like both the TV movie and Colin Baker, so who cares what I think? :)

  • John leeson was so much better as k9

this just sounds like a cartoon

  • @chesterton4321 Yeah, you're right. Liked the old voice better

  • Wow. And I thought the cartoony sounds in the DW tv movie were bad.

  • I think doctor who had better days

  • Namely the Colin Baker era

*what I mean by that is that this is the only story in Tom's time that was worse than Colin's

  • I disagree. Meglos and The Invisible Enemy were both worse than this one.

  • LOL The Tardis makes cartoony noises as it blows a gasket. Love it!

  • incredilly Silly, but quite funny

  • where it the ep can you tell me where to find it thanks

  • Not checked but I think it's at the back end of episode 2. Either that ot early episode 3.

  • It's about the limit of the late 70's switch from serious drama to comedy in the light of Mary Whitehouse complaints regarding too much horror and violence for the poor kiddies! She was talking crap of course, but it damaged the series and it never really recovered.

  • @3rdDoctor

Another problem that I notice is that many stories that were written later on were just not suited for a serial format show. Although, even some of the oldest serials did kind of run far longer than they needed (honestly, a great deal of the serial "the chase" can be skipped without losing anything to the overall story).

This is partly due to the fact that writing serials was something that less and less writers had proper experiance with late in the original run.

  • wtf?

    Is *this* Doctor Who?

It looks like a sitcom version of Who to me!

  • WTF indeed!

  • That's what happens when Douglas Adams is the script editor...

  • . . .but then City of Death is what happens when Douglas Adams is script editor.

Really all this humour was down to producer Graham Williams

  • Actually, the BBC told the Graham Williams to make the show more comedic, because they felt it was getting too violent in the Hinchcliffe years.

  • Played by a bloke called David Brierly for a bit instead of the great John Leeson. Sounded like a stuffy old woman!

  • Speaking of David Brierly, I have some bad news, which you may or may not know already. He died of cancer on 10th June last year. RIP Dave

  • What the heck is up with K9's voice!?
