  • glad she didn't fall into the hands of the biggest womanizing creep of all JFKalthough most of her choices were equal or worse like aly K.shocked at comments she was not tragic you try having met some woman who knowing destroyed your child by sneekin out of a quarantine then slowly going insane and having numerous shock treatments, plus falling for a bunch of unworthy men whom prob used her and then said either you become muslim get rid of your family or get lost or the phoney Kennedy Catholics

  • God bless Gene Eliza Tierney,to me the most beautiful woman to exist and the epitome

of individual courage. We should never forget this unique and special woman.

  • You know that pain you fell, that indescribable pain in your heart, well I feel it now...

  • her beauty will live forever within film.

  • I think Oleg describes her life perfectly when he says, "She was the unluckiest lucky girl in the world." Gorgeous, talented woman.

  • @darkseaofempathy Kind words for the kindest of ladys...

  • One of my favorite actresses...

  • Very misleading biography. She had a wonderful life. It wasn't tragic. So much success and joy. Very few of us get anything like what she had, and the goodness she express shared was wonderful. Studpid documentary.

  • @goodguyfun i agree with everything you said. yes, tragic things did happen to her, but she had great success in her career, she had a healthy child and great marriage in her later years. and even the cassini marriage must have had some highs. plus she is remembered with respect and affection.

  • Even in those advanced years@ 1:47 Genes beauty still shines from within, the light is still in those eyes, Gene faced those demons and that took great courage. How barbarick those EST'S were.

  • Thanks for the upload. I think Gene is the most beautiful woman I‘ve ever seen. How could anyone bear such an amount of tragedy? Enough to break anyone imo.

  • @rurmundo shut up

  • What a story, she's one of my top favorite actresses. At least she had that happy peaceful period later in life with Howard Lee. I love her for the beautiful legacy of films she left us.

  • This was in the 70's when I too was a kid watching "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir" and was captivated by Gene's beauty, it's one of my favorites, and I still love watching this movie to this day, and many other Gene Tierney movies.

  • I only found about her today actually! We all know about the Judy Grland, the Marylin Monroe, the Grace Kelly - I had never heard of her! And I am so grateful that i came upon her today. It only took a photograph of this woman to look deeper. If someone asked me who i would like to look like, i'd say Gene Tierney. The beauty of the Irish stayed with her. I understand her mental health. I just feel blessed that I found her! Does that sound weird?! xx

  • I can understand exactly how you feel when I was a young kid I remember watching the Ghost and Mrs. Muir and being capitivated by Gene even then, Gene was then and still is the most beautyful of the hollywood actress's.

  • you´re right, gene was the most beautiful woman in world, see my site on classicactresses@blogspot

  • @MarkMargo this documentary in english is rude to the viewrs

  • Such talent, enigma, and beauty, (internal and external) , Gene Tierney should and will be remembered as one of Hollywood's greatest. I hope that this amazing woman found peace in her passing on.

  • I trully hope, that after all the provation´s that she had in her life, she had finally found the peace, that such kind heart and soul deserve.

  • Among all the gorgeous glamourgirls of the 40's like Hedy Lamarr andLana Turner,Gene wasthe only one who could act.Too bad she is so underrated.

  • So moving, thanks so much. She was one of the most beautiful, glamorous-looking, elegant and human Artists in the world. She's now resting in a happier world. Bless Her and her Family.

  • If anyone notices, Gene Tierney, was born beautiful, and talented. She lived a far better life than the people who populate the earth in the Third World, without food, shelter or any of the basic necessities of life. This story is blown way out of proportion.

  • @796824 Are you so sure about that?

  • wow what a story-she was beautiful-loved her i The Ghost and Mrs.Muir

  • LAURA is the face in the misty light..... long live the memories of Gene Tierney

  • I think she was a fantastic actress and remarkable beauty, it's awful she had such sadness in her life, thanks for uploading this

  • For all the praising this documentary does of her honesty in disclosing her mental illness, the film itself skates over this subject as if they were talking about a broken leg. The internet sources I've seen claim that she was bipolar but the symptoms sound a lot more like schizophrenia. (Also possible that her situation was complicated by the shock treatments and drugs she had to take.) Anyone know from her autobiography?

  • In her Auto- shes never really clear what her illness was, but I agree with you I think it was schizophrenia.

  • she was gorgeous. too bad another death by smoking cigarettes.

  • My dearest Ms. Tierney...

I'm honored to be stopped on the streets and told "you look like Gene Tierney"....my former husband--was one of those people....I did not know who she was....I certainly learned...

angels are among us...bless you Ms Tierney..

    suziestew

ps thank you for posting this tribute...it's quite wonderful..

  • People are lost for words I guess,I know I am, when it comes to Gene, in the closing stills of this documentary it is still possible to see even as old age does approach, the beauty in Genes eyes and smile, ''and the clock ticks'' tick tock tick tock from the kitchen wall, where time the leveller claims us all.How brave. How beautiful. How tragic. How loving. How else could you describe the almost indescribable.......

  • EST is what destroyed Vivien Leigh, too. So sad.

  • Thank you for posting this. I'd read "self-portrait" when it came out & it was deeply moving for me - who has also struggled with emotional illness - to learn more of her story. She is a much better actress than normally credited with being; her good heart & honesty about herself & her illness should win new respect and admiration. I especially appreciated hearing the comments of her daughter: "She was a very beautiful person within and without." What more can be said?

  • i'd heard of her name but never really had seen any of her movies

then saw her here at youtube on as a what's my line mystery guest

she seemed so dignified and of course

    exceptionally beautiful

''she always made a point of extending her goodness and kindness to others'' what a beautiful eulogy by her daughter

man i hope she found her peace at last

  • My all-time favourite Amerian actress. She had beauty, she had soul, and above all human kindness.

  • Such Beauty never exist again. Tragic life she led. I could just weep. She had the beauty and talent. Deep inside she had a heart.

  • @SatineCharm Thank you for your wonderful post. Ms. Tierney was a marvelous lady and artist inside and out. She got above her tragedies. One feels good that her last years were peaceful.

  • What a touching documentary!!

  • Surprised that there haven't been any comments on this beautiful woman and icon of the 40's.
