The first few times (and last mind you)that I watched her show I was quite dumbfounded by the fact that the set was decorated to match the theme of the menu, party, decorations and HER OUTFIT of the day. To be fair many women, especially busy moms need any shortcut they can to whip up a fast dinner or speed up the cooking process. That said, I don't think Sandra is a mom and even though I jokingly call her "The Drunk/Wino" of Food Network, some of her shortcuts can be helpful to some folks.

Ive just found out that many shortcuts are anything but that at times.And definetly not cost effective.Not to focus on onions,but for example a 16oz package of chopped and frozen onions is about $3 at my store,and I can buy a 3lb bag of storage onions for about $2.I'm a busy single Dad of two beautiful daughters.When I cook for my family,almost every night,its a labor of love.I'm sharing a part of myself with them.So I dont mind a little extra effort.
Oh I totally understand. I'm nearly 18 and I cook for my family for the most part and I usually chop and cook up my veggies or saute some good frozen veggies from trader joes. That said I do know that I'd rather see kids eating some foods that were pre-frozen and cooked and prepared in a healthy manner and maybe even the boxed food that Sandra often makes than them eating drive thru fast food and cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. Good point. Most anything that is home cooked is better than a drive through heart attack ina sack. Sometimes they hate me for it, but the last time we went to a McD's was over four months ago. Childhood obesity is such a problem these days. It's not the kid's fault, it's the lazy parents. I haven't gone out of my way to eat drive-thru food or McDonalds for nearly 4 years. The only drive-thru food I eat is In-N-Out which I think we only have here in California and maybe Vegas.
It's a really great fast food place but it's very unlike the average drive thru. The fries and burgers are fresh, you can see the workers chopping the fresh potatoes right in front of you, and they have a very limited menu. I usually get the grilled cheese which is basically a cheeseburger without the meat and they have great shakes. You can google and check out the site if you want (they even have a secret menu that only true regulars know of). It's the only drive-thru I really trust when I eat

I must say that some of the captions were a bit much, but the one about OCD was right on. The first few times (and last mind you)that I watched her show I was quite dumbfounded by the fact that the set was decorated to match the theme of the menu, party, decorations and HER OUTFIT of the day. But looking past that, though it was hard and getting down to the actual recipes.. yikes. Ive got to go along with other comments. Just cut up some blasted onions! Frozen F#*king onions?! Ugh.

Correction: If you're going to accuse me of something, at least get it right. It's not slander, but libel. In simpler terms, it would be defamation of character. Since the woman has booze in almost EVERY episode of her show, and has admitted more than once that she's gotten wasted in college and at restaurants, that kind of nullifies your defense (as well as hers) of slander, which isn't even right. Look it up. Like it or not, it has every right to be on YouTube.

"A strong creative woman?" You must be off your nut. She opens preservative laden packets of sewage, tosses in a pinch of fresh herbs and dares to call that even "semi" homemade? It's not even cooking. I can make a great homemade pizza completely from scratch in about 15 minutes, whereas she would have you use storebought dough and sauce to make something not even 10% as good for four times the price. You save 3 minutes.
A better way to save time is to stop watching her terrible show.

I've actually never been able to sit through an entire program of hers. All these "cooks" who advocate all these pre packaged foods are frauds. I turned the channel last time I watched when she said to buy pre-chopped/frozen onions and bell peppers to save time. Just how hard is it to chop up a fucking onion anyway? I mean if one can't aquire such a basic skill, please for the good of all mankind, stay out of my kitchen!!!

To be fair many women, especially busy moms need any shortcut they can to whip up a fast dinner or speed up the cooking process. That said, I don't think Sandra is a mom and even though I jokingly call her "The Drunk/Wino" of Food Network, some of her shortcuts can be helpful to some folks.

I guess I can see your point to an extent. Ive just found out that many shortcuts are anything but that at times.And definetly not cost effective.Not to focus on onions,but for example a 16oz package of chopped and frozen onions is about $3 at my store,and I can buy a 3lb bag of storage onions for about $2.I'm a busy single Dad of two beautiful daughters.When I cook for my family,almost every night,its a labor of love.I'm sharing a part of myself with them.So I dont mind a little extra effort.

Oh I totally understand. I'm nearly 18 and I cook for my family for the most part and I usually chop and cook up my veggies or saute some good frozen veggies from trader joes. That said I do know that I'd rather see kids eating some foods that were pre-frozen and cooked and prepared in a healthy manner and maybe even the boxed food that Sandra often makes than them eating drive thru fast food and cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. Good for you for cooking for your family though! :)

Good point. Most anything that is home cooked is better than a drive through heart attack ina sack. Sometimes they hate me for it, but the last time we went to a McD's was over four months ago. Childhood obesity is such a problem these days. It's not the kid's fault, it's the lazy parents. And I think it's arguably a criminal act.Kid's don't know any better, it's up to us to stear them in the right life choices.

I haven't gone out of my way to eat drive-thru food or McDonalds for nearly 4 years. The only drive-thru food I eat is In-N-Out which I think we only have here in California and maybe Vegas.

It's a really great fast food place but it's very unlike the average drive thru. The fries and burgers are fresh, you can see the workers chopping the fresh potatoes right in front of you, and they have a very limited menu. I usually get the grilled cheese which is basically a cheeseburger without the meat and they have great shakes. You can google and check out the site if you want (they even have a secret menu that only true regulars know of). It's the only drive-thru I really trust when I eat

Cool,thank's Ill check em out online.My one restaurant vice is Sushi bars.I got hooked about 8 years ago.But at least it's a pretty healthy vice.(at least I tell myself that).I used to have to drive over a hundred miles to The Gulf Coast or Birmingham to satisfy my guilty indulgence.Thankfully its catching on here. We now have a Mikata and a Sakura.The kids are dubious,but they will eat the tempuras .NIce talking with you,were about as far apart as can be and still be on the same continent huh?
