What little is left from it was used in the reconstructed Wright 1903 Flyer at the National Air & Space Museum in DC. However, it is largely a reconstruction. Orville Wright was somewhat involved in the initial effort and more so on the second one in the 1920's. It was restored again about 20 years ago by NASM.
Is it pretty well exactly the same design as the Wrights' first flyer? I'm a pilot, and having so much control surface in front of the wings always looked really problematic to me. The plane would over-react, making it very difficult to fly. But this is not a problem with your model, eh?
if your a pilot what type of plane do you fly... im an ispiaring pilot and i just went to see the site where the wright brothers took there first flight. any idea where the flyer is today(the real one)? thansk

The first one, the real one, the one that flew at Kitty Hawk, doesn't exist anymore.
It was kept in a shed behind one of their shops for a while. It mostly rotted away.
