I feel the weight loss comment is a very cruel joke for a poor country whose people struggle to make ends meet.

Bangladesh, was carved out of East Pakistan, which was formerly known as East Bengal in British India. The culture in both East and West Bengal is very similar. The people are socialistic and believe in mass protests. I feel that apart from the dynastic politics, this is one of the biggest reasons why that region has not progressed.
