  • I want to marshal a plane like that if i worked at American. I tried to get a job there in 1996 the even flew me to Dallas to take a physical but I did not pass. oh well Nice to dream anyway

  • that marshellar sucks

  • @cantollie324 what is the difference between her and others?

  • how old minimum do you have to be to start marshalling?

    18?

  • Beautiful aircraft. Long live the Mad Dogs!

  • I was just hired as ramp agent by swissport, NY JFK, what is the process when you first start? They just called me to attend first training class tomorrow, they told me to bring black pen and picture id, What's next What is training about, how long, is training paid,? etc...

Someone with experience please respond..... thank's

  • lol fucking noob marshal

  • aren't you ever scared when the plane is coming right at you?

  • @BR242x001 Not true I have made my career working on the MD-80 and find it an outstanding machine, well - designed. I love it.

  • @AAirliners I agree it's older brother was the workhorse of Northwest and they're still going strong with Delta. The MD-80/DC-9 family is my second favorite a/c only behind the Boeing 757

  • @AAirliners AMEM!!!

  • @arixtos never worked with an airbus 319/320? poor guy! :P

  • @BR242x001 Nope, and I hope I'll never have to, friends are flying on the A-320, and use to call it " the plastic airplane"!

Good for you if you enjoy working on it, several ramp guys I talked to rather prefer to load, unload the airbus instead of the other common narrow body types(Boeing,MD).

I guess because it's easier to load an LD3 instead of bags.

So again enjoy it, just keep the crap out!

    No offense of course!

  • @BR242x001 you have probably never been on a Maddog..... its not good to speak when you have no idea what the heck your talking about.

a Maddog holds about the same amount of people as an A319 and if im not mistaken, is just as versatile.... she just drinks a little bit too much fuel but that problem has been solved with the EP-80 mod... i hope AA gets them.

  • @igneousrocklad hmm, you like it. i'm not. i prefer higher holds. no one of my teammate says: "md80, oh such a great plane." worse is only Fokker70/100. i don't care about fuel. i am a baggage bitch not a fuel bitch ;)

  • did he slap her ass?

  • is that ATS on her vest

  • what is the name of the orange stick?

  • im pretty sure its called a baton

  • @dcsilva10 wand...

  • @dcsilva10 we just call them day sticks and for the lighted ones... night sticks lol

  • traffic baton traffic wand, control wand or baton, all are the same thing

  • i love it MD 80 :) :) :) :)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why did the pilot sticks out his hand at 0:47?

  • Parking brake set.

  • its the breaks engaged hand signal but hes a lazy pilot and only used one hand

  • maybe tired u don't know so respect the men of the air!

  • im going to miss american airlines md-82

  • hey do you work there at ATS

  • I think the S-80 is a beast lol

  • were do u have to go to do that job

  • I fuckin hate the MD-80's with a passion

  • Why? I <3 MD-80's :)

  • They're loud as shit. The cockpit is soo outdated and the pre-start checklist is a bitch

  • why?

  • lol list goes on!

1*Loud as hell inside the cockpit

2*I beleive most of their cockpit is not too updated

    a whole bunch. i just don like'em . I'd rather be in a Airbus than a MD

  • actually the cockpit is known for being very quiet. nice try though!

  • @CanadianInfantryman1 You don't know what you're talking about, the MD-80 is very quiet in the cockpit, sure more than an Airbus.

With the power at idle, with doors and windows closed you can't really say if the engines are running or not (engines are nearly 45 meters behind you!).

I've been on airbus jumpseat many times and you really can hear the engine noise even at idle.

Understand you don't like the MD-80, just don't say ... like this!

And what's the big deal with the beore start check?

  • Thats an s-80 not md-82

  • A super 80, is like saying a 737. They are just being more specific. E.g. 732 is a 737-200. They are merely stating it's a md-82, and your statement is saying it's in the md-80 family. Both of you are correct, merely one is more specific than the other.

  • them md-82 is the super 80

  • Incorrect, the series is MD-80/"Super 80" but the technical term is correct; there is no MD-80, there is the DC-9-81, DC-9-82, DC-9-83, DC-9-87, MD-88, MD-90

  • The plane gets real close the the guy.

  • absolutely love the md-80, 757, 777, and recently the 787!!!!!!!!

  • Only ATS marshalls in like chumps - and the bell is the gate moving to the aircraft

  • does anyone know what the bell was when the plane was turning?

  • jetway.. it rings every time it moves so idiots dnt get hit

  • well the other posters make marshallers sound miserable "urrgghhh not the right technique" etc. As long as the plane safely and fluidly gets there its fine right? thats what your responsibilitys are ;-) (just like yegrampire says)

  • everyone has there own way of marshaling. As long as you don;t put the plane into the next bridge over or no one gets killed I don't care if you Marshall with banana's standing on your head,

  • awful technique. Did they teach you that full arm wave or did you just decide to make something up. There are standard aviation signals for a reason.

  • how old do u have 2 be to do this job???

  • wow, that was pretty bad... why do a slow close out if you're just gonna quickly put an X anyway?

  • word, if your gonna milk it make em inch to the x

  • the airplane is sooo old!

  • My biggest thrill was marshalling the 777 and towing it..towing it was the hardest, I almost cried the first time I jacknifed it 'cause I turned too quickly, now with the new system we don't get to marshall them in that much, bummer..but pushing them off is always fun !

  • i love working at ohare international ord

  • What a horrible gate warning signal!!

  • Right on! *high-five*

  • Keep it up!!

  • heheh...my names Marshall

  • Samesies!

  • ......yeah......=P

  • Looks Cool!!

  • Only asking cuz heard 1 of rs on the tube

  • i'm not your typical female ramper and my company is contracted out to AA

i'am one heck of a ramper and have had good days marshalling in the MD-80s an 757s and the bad days were when my fellow rampers would screw with my marshalling and then see the Pilots/FOs fly off the jetbridge pissed off telling rampers to quit, stop screwing with my work be-4 something bad happens

some rampers see it as a playground and people everywhere watchen rather you see them or not it will reflect on ya one day

  • wat gate are u at i am always at

  • nice

  • ATS Reno service Delta and American.5 gurls on ramp 1 u never new hair color going 2 b,2 on Delta,1 older on AA, 1 older hafe days and nights. What 1 u?

  • tall older was days on AA

  • Thought so u 0400 1500 gurl. No disrespect u looked yung 30ish well knowen with in airport, flights in out 4 ur work ethics. ATS not nice 2 u dont deserve u and ur missed. Economy not good now when better apply 2 other airlines they will appreciate u. Take care

  • i work at ohare cargo operations we are to cool to start marshall dancing

  • there were days i would hit my mark and those days i was like what the hell did i just do

  • How can you tell if your taxing too fast? When the guy with the wands starts running....

  • wow that was the most worst marshaling ive ever seen, couldnt see the line guy at all or the hand orders,

  • how much do they get paid $12-13hr

  • haha.. that's funny.. when I worked ramp in MSP i made 9.00 an hour. If i was lucky...

  • afaik $10/h is usually starting

  • yea that was weak man, i work at a small GA aiport marshalling gulfstreams and stuff, and that looked like u were still drunk from last night

  • Isn't this the airport that the Air France A340 slid off the runway in crappy weather conditions and blew up?

  • yes u are correct

  • very nice video

  • very Good,

I used to do that for Air Canada in the caribbean

  • that plane was close!!

  • I remember at one point a lead pulled a plane into a fuel truck after parking it on the wrong line. ATS was such a clown show.

  • i didnt know the cockpit windows can be opened

  • In cruise pilots like to stick their heads out into the wind. ;)

  • LOL thats Wendy and AJ making a Cameo. B11 Terminal 3

  • i didnt know ats also serve american airlines

  • Yes, it's actually our biggest contract here at this station (YYZ).

  • Pretty sweet. Amazing seeing those birds so close!
