Stabbing Westward and The Dreaming are both Awesome - they do awesome versions of their songs - some more punk-rock, some more electronic / industrial and others acoustic - Chris is an incredible writer and his singing is great because it sounds really good whether he is singing or shouting. I love these bands and I'm sure anyone with good taste will do too.
Definitely enjoy both bands, although Stabbing Westward remains one of my favorite bands even after 8 years of their dismantling. I hope the Dreaming would tour Florida soon, I missed them the last time they did.

@HAW112 It's actually pretty much the other way around. Andy wrote the poppier songs and controlled the softer sound on self-titled, while Chris and Walter wanted to return to SW roots more industrial ala Ungod. Andy is a good drummer, certainly technically speaking, and he had a few good songs, but he also pretty much tore the band apart. Love The Dreaming, but the one thing that's missing a bit is the role that Walter played.

I saw them open a show with Displaced at the Masquerade for FLAW.. this was hands down the weakest fucking band live. They all looked like trannies with terrible guy-liner and black and blonde hair flat ironed and teased. The lamest cocksucking faces they all made in between sets.. pure garbage. I had to see if it was just as bad in their official video and the answer is "almost". Fuck this sound and everything it stands for. I wish god was real so he could smite these queefs. Anyhow this is ok, but nothing will be as great as Stabbing Westward's first three albums. When you got such a distinctive/inventive and heavy sound like that and go completely in another direction (ie. the s/t) it is hard to embrace it.

Stabbing westward was industrial metal and the dreaming is more like alternative metal or emo/hard rock. They are both really good bands. My personal favorite is stabbing westward.

Heres a fact. Chris CREATED stabbing westward that was his mix of music. That was his creation.
Does this make a big difference that he decided to create another band.

Anyhow this is ok, but nothing will be as great as Stabbing Westward's first three albums. When you got such a distinctive/inventive and heavy sound like that and go completely in another direction (ie. the s/t) it is hard to embrace it.

the song is Ugly (Beautiful), and it was on the soundtrack to the movie Elektra where it was only known as Beautiful, the Dreaming then re-recorded that song and titled it Ugly (Beautiful)

Anyone who describes them as "the new Stabbing Westward" is either an idiot or never listened to Stabbing Westward. This song is more like SW than most of their The Dreaming's new stuff, but the majority of their new stuff doesn't resemble SW at all either musically or lyrically.

Go to The Dreamings myspace page They are on tour till april. Look up a show near you and go support them. THEY WILL EVEN HANG OUT WITH YOU. I saw them on Feb. 15th and got pics with them

I like "the dreaming". It is good to see Christopher Hall performing music again, He has a great, original voice...I find this video kind of boring but the song is pretty good.

Stabbing westward was industrial metal and the dreaming is more like alternative metal or emo/hard rock. They are both really good bands. My personal favorite is stabbing westward.
