The scene is far more meaningful when you consider the fact that Lady Jessica is actually the good Baron's daughter,due to a dalliance he had with a Bene Gesserit. Which also makes Paul the Baron's own grandson!

This movie sucked ass. Why the gross spit scene?  Why the freaky weird cat-rat-milking device for Thufir Hawat's antidote? That shit wasn't even remotely in the book. just dumb and weird. Lynch has made some great movies, this isn't one of them.

This movie is nothing but a bad parody of a great novel and nothing but a gross ego-trip for the director to feed his perverted imagination than Frank Herbert's imagination. The mini-series does a bit of faithfulness to the novel but has problems, i hope the new movie will ignore this abortion.

@Johnlindsey289 Definitely appreciate your perspective. I grew up on this flic and love it. While I disagree with your strong stance, I will say that i learned Far More about the story from reading the book. That I will not debate.

But if you're not a purist, I certainly enjoy the flic.  As a child I always loved those Jello Shields that he paul and duncan practiced with early on :)

There is another Dune movie coming soon and i hear that the rights are for sale at other studios, i hope Warner picks it up. It should be 3 parts similar to Jackson's LOTR trilogy and have someone who cares about the book unlike Lynch who was just a gun Face it, this was a bust even at the box-office and critics, did you know Lynch hates this movie? it was a painful experience for him and do you think he had no right to disown the film? he pretends like he never made this movie
