a man where i live owns a baby fox, its mother was killed by hunters and the baby just followed him around and when he finally sat down it jumped into his lap and cuddled with him, now 4 months later the fox is extremely friendly towards people and loves to be petted

For the most part I fully agree with you that wild animals should stay in the wild, but those foxes are bred as pets much like a dog was bred from a wolf long ago.

There's a documentary on Hulu that talks about how dog's became domesticated, and Russian scientists proved it using Foxes. The new foxes are not wild animals anymore, and would die if you let them run free.
