  • I've shot this this a couple times. Awesome rig. I'm gonna pick up the Loaded version in a couple days. cant wait!

  • Comment removed

  • You sir have taken this pistol right outta my dreams

  • who is the guy that dislike the video?

  • that can was asking for it.

  • i have a range officer . he is right on all accounts. i love the gun and it is my first 1911

  • Man i LOVE the model 1911 it looks to awesome to be true

  • I WANT I WANT!

  • What makes the Springfield operator more expensive? Is the metalurgy better or is it just extra features?

  • I've been considering this model for my first 1911. I haven't seen anything I don't like. After seeing you shoot it I think this is going to be my next addition. Great job!!!

  • hickok, what is your opinion on the double stacked .45 1911s like Para Ord's P-14s? I sort of prefer them because my big long fingers would simply crowd a single stacked pistol's grip.

  • @LegendofHogger Not really mean for the "Souped up" dude. I meant for guns like the Milspec or GI model. Those are kind of budget, suitable for projects.

  • @LegendofHogger SA is kind of a budget gun ideally for sorta projects guns that shooter wants to work on, so, of the rack might not be my choice for somehow. But ya the complains of that Loaded model was already overloaded.

  • I've heard that the best springfield for police use even is the springfield 1911 professional but that is a custom gun made by Springfield. So what all extras come on the 1911 to make it that model that the policed loved for so long? Also if you wanted to make it like a professional but keep it set up for competition as well, what exactly would the general extras to put on it?

  • @LegendofHogger why?

  • Hickok how's the trigger reset?

  • McLovin it!

  • Hickoc45, good that you spread the word on what sole purpose of soft drinks/sodas are - targets. Now, beer, fine cigars, wine and distilled stuff is what matter.

  • Those big hands make that 1911 look tiny.

  • Wonder what the difference is among RO, GI and MIL-SPEC? I am going to get one of the three since glock has no plans to make 1911 as far as I know.

  • wow....someone is a bit touchy about hunting. wierd.

  • love this gun old 911.

  • thanks for the video. your close-up shooting video are so much fun to watch. I can't shoot/own so many different guns or have a range that will let us shoot at targets or distances but these videos brings us right there next you! Thank you to springfield and all the gun manufacturers and your friends for sending you T&E guns. Please continue them.

  • I'd like to see a comparison video of this gun and a para 1911!

  • Hickok45 is like the Bob Ross of shooting.

  • @w4gn0r

He's also the Rick Ross of shooting :)

  • @eyething1 your what I refer to as a dumb Ass. Just letting you know, have a nice day.

  • excellent shooting and beautiful gun

  • Nice. Great videos, man. Thanks.

  • Never mind the comment hickok, i found your xd 40 cal. video buddy! Thanxxx anyway!

  • heey hickok45 ,

could you show the people a word war two weapon : the MG.42

    greets .

    NLstereosuperhero

  • "there's a can growing out of a stick" lol

  • So, after you shot that cabbage did you make coleslaw? For that .45 sure did a number on that cabbage.

  • I wish I could win this! haha. Nice vid!

  • Hey Hickok, range officer or new Ruger 1911? shopping, can't wait to buy, just not sure what to get yet for my first 1911

  • @thedudecarrying wtf is wrong with you?........ruger 1911.....psh you out to be ashamed

  • Do you have any videos on the springfield xd 40 cal.? have you had any problems or hear of any with them?

  • Your hands must be huge. You make that thing look like a compact.

  • Thumbs up if you would feel comfortable putting a cabbage on your head and standing in Hickok's range.

  • CLICKED YOUR ADS!

  • you should check out the new s&w 1911 e

  • I love the sound effects you added for the water!

  • @hickok45 How many guns do you have total?

  • Dunno where to ask so ill ask here. I have to shoot most of the time at indoor ranges. For hearing protection i wear big old muffs. Id like to get a pair of ear plugs kinda like what you have. Would that be ok for an indoor range?

  • I have this same gun. Great quality and shoots great. Haven't had any problems with it. Comes with a lifetime warranty, Springfield customer service is great!. Great gun to recommend for anybody that wants to shoot in competitions or just likes to go out and have a little fun on the range

  • Now all it needs is hogue rubber grips, mepro light night sites, and to be in 10mm >:-)

  • @SunshineBayou10mm Yes its already hard enough to find .45 in my area let alone 10MM!

  • @vector6977 There is plenty of availability of any ammo you like with any of the internet wholesalers, or you could reload your own. The best bet is to buy bulk you can usually get a better deal. I personally don't have time to reload so I by in bulk, I will search around the internet to see who had the best deal and get a bulk discount.

  • i bet the dislike was an accident.. how could you dislike a legend.

  • hickok would pwn during the zombie apocalypse

  • I like it and want one.

    schmoo

  • Hickok, you should figure out what note is played when you shoot each one of your plates, then, you should play us all a song!

  • having shot both the ruger and springfield, would you say the springfield is worth the extra 300? how do they compare in accuracy at longer range?

  • Accuracy seems to be simple for you!

  • 1911 favorite one!

  • beautiful gun!

  • Eggplants! Kill some eggplants next time! (I hate eggplants.)

  • Hey Hickok, this might be old news though, but have you heard that Single Action Shooting Society has created a Cowboy-Action shoot for 1911A1 users now? :D It is called the Wild Bunch and you can use black powder or smokeless powder .45 ACP loads. The only requirement is that you MUST use a mil-specification 1911A1 with fixed sights and 7+1 rounds capacity.

  • LOVE IT! JUST BOUGHT THIS GUN! awesome!

  • i would also like to see what you think about the Remington r1 1911... would mean the world to me if you could do a video of it.

  • @KASYZ250 Huh, Well I was thinking it was a country in south east asia or something. But ok Id rather buy a weapon from the euro guys then Asian boys. Thanks for the update, Id hate to buy a 1911 made other than in the states, just a preferice I recken

  • Nice gun , someday I will add a Springfield 1911 to my collection, as always thank you for your video

  • hickok please do a review of a STI International pistol, the Ranger II in 45 acp would be great!

  • hickok you are north americas official go to guy for firearms. i trust your opinion more then anyones in the entire world i think. Please dont ever stop these videos or i dont think i could bare to shoot anoher firearm!

  • nicely done..you made the slaw and i will bring the fish...

  • @phishst1cks I'll bring the buffalo meat :) Medium sized bull, taken with Turkish broadhead :) I still have several pounds of jerky left.

  • @GoldenRing1989 GOLD TEEF! hahahaha!!!

  • Q: why do you not use the slide release but most of the time rack the slide on a reload mag?

  • @robin6512 Not all firearms have a slide release, so using the "slide rack" technique, you can load just about every handgun on the planet.

  • glu glug glug glug glug

  • How much does a Range Officer go for these days?

  • i got a question for you. i bin seeing 210gr and 220 gr 40cal s&w bullets on the market ..how wood thay compare to 45 cal round ? and wood this be a good round for concell carry?

  • Your wife goes grocery shopping and You shoot the food!

  • Hahah, great video. I LOLed over the cabbage.

  • could you do a video on Subcompacts? I've been looking into CCW firearms, and the amount of choices is so vast and daunting, it would be great to see a video with a wide range of subcompacts that you find to be decent firearms.

  • @MegaZeroBlues , I have lots of videos on the small guns; they are some of my favorites.

  • @MegaZeroBlues okay what you want to do, get a full size 1911, learn to conceal carry it. If you can do that, you can conceal just about any other firearm.

  • @MegaZeroBlues You can't find much better than a Ruger SR9C. The huge "loaded when up" lever is the only letdown about this gun.

  • @MegaZeroBlues go to nutnfancy if you want CCW vids

  • Good job, I hate cabbage.

  • Under the stress of a gun fight the slide offers a much larger and more easily manipulated way of re-charging the weapon. Train for muscle memory.

  • Firstly, do you have a Luger? Like P08 or P06, because I think some viewers might like seeing it in action.

Secondly, I've noticed that whenever you reload, you pull the slide back and release it, when I reload, I just press the slide release after changing magazines, is what I'm doing wrong or bad for the gun?

  • 404 Hickok not found

  • fresh tossed salad!!! need some maters and carrots!!! Great Vid as always!!!

  • 100 years old; and still one of the most respected and competitive pistols on the range and market.

  • I love this gun! Thanks for giving it your review again. Mine isn't the Range Officer, but it's the same gun...just has trijicon sights and front slide serrations added.

  • Its a .45 so it should be big hole going in, bigger hole coming out.

  • I know this has nothing to do with the video but you should apply for the show Top Shot.

  • @hcrv12 good call. Hickok, you gotta start throwing hatchets back there too! :)

  • As a bit of a noob here, what is going on with the squeezable beaver tail?

  • @buzzboy7 It's a safety device. If it's not depressed, the gun won't go off.

  • Great Looking Gun...You have good friends

  • making coleslaw .45 ACP style.

  • I was wondering if you are going to purchase the Ruger 1911. Is so a review would be greatly appreciated.

  • @desel3 Little do you realize, Hickok45 is also a psychic, and knew you would request that 3 weeks before you did...

  • @ashe0013mck Woah that's crazy. I always was suspicious of his psychic abilities. Now I know my suspicions where true.

  • Hickok's trigger finger has a mind of its own because it shoots and interrupts him. lol

  • Which would you rather pick this or the new ruger sr1911.

  • a can growing out of a stick lol

  • Thanks for the close up on this beauty, hickok45, sir. Springfield Range Officer 45ACP is going to sell for $799 at Cabela's, for their Memorial Day sale. I just got the ad in the mail today, and was wondering what this beauty was all about. Thanks for the post, my friend:))

  • You made coleslaw!!!

  • Any impressions on the Remington 1911R1 ?

  • I got tired of waiting for a second video from Hickok on this pistol so I had to go buy one for myself yesterday. Now I see you have a second video up haha. Pretty impressed with it so far but I agree with Hickok on the front sight. I am going to send mine to Novak for a brass bead front sight.

  • Whoops, "Gold DOT".

  • Would Gold Ot or HST HP round "blow up" the cabbage or would it be too little resistance to open the petals?

  • @machineguntongue, Wouldn't make much difference.

  • @hickok45 Boy, you must have a lot of 1911's to have that many magazines for them!

  • Beautiful gun. About that cabbage... hitting those with a 1 oz. slug in the center makes a REALLY dramatic bunch of cole slaw.

  • That gun is SEXY

  • I wish I could afford .45 ammo

  • I just want to thank you for convincing me to buy a 1911. I love your videos!

  • nice review. I think they missed the major competition enhancement. A Fiber Optic front sight. Red or green doesn't matter.

  • u could make cole slaw

  • Where do the make that pistol? I know the S.F. XDM is made in some weird country. Im hoping that S.F. hadnt out sorsed there 45 too...

  • Every time you feature a 1911 in your video. I want to buy one.

  • @davidsquall351 so dooo itttt! I have a colt rail gun govt and I coould never want a better pistol!!!!!

  • @2:02 Danger Close lol.

  • Hey Hickok. Huts wondering, do you have any experience shooting a kimber? And what are your thoughts on the brand in general? I noticed the kimber custom II is priced under $1000 and I was wondering if it's worth the buy

  • @DARKALIEN556 Yes Ive shot a Kimber 45 and I was very impressed. Sweet triggers on those Kimbers

  • @Hickcock45- I just got a Para 1911 and love it. Would be neat to see a comparison video on this gun and a para 1911.

  • Did you get a chance to check out the Remington Model 1911 R1 at the NRA show in Pittsburgh and is there any chance to see it in a video? ... Great channel by the way keep it up

  • man springfield sure can make a beautiful gun

  • Springfields use a forged frame.

Ruger,cast....in case that means anything to y'all.

The Springfields are forged in the IMBEL factory.Known

for some of the worlds best FAL rifles.

I've been shooting Springfields since the late 80's.

    So why stop now?

Also,Bill Ruger ticked me off with his "little people" remark.

So theres that.I know the guys dead now,but still...what a jerk.

  • 2:14 - You're awesome.

  • 2:15 hahaha "Glugluglug, there's a can growing out of a stick..."

  • im like you i love glocks got 3 of them but that gun sounds sexy looks sexy ....i want it lol

  • That's a beautiful looking 1911. Great shooting video as well. I always enjoy watching you shoot.

  • Hickok 45,

Some people have recommended you to be on Top Shot but have you ever considered America's Most Handsome Man?

  • Lol nice water sound hickok!

  • Can you recommend a good first handgun? Maybe a 1911, I was looking at a ruger mark iii, But want more power. Thanks! your videos are all awesome!!

  • Life is good!

  • i can tell that you just cleaned it

  • A great followup to a 1911 would be a NAA REVOLVER in 22 MAG!!!

  • Why do u tease ME! RO is not available for me!

  • @pccchurch are you in CA? If so, look into doing a single-shot exemption.

  • 2:13 = Gulgulgulgulgul

  • That is a truly beautiful gun.

  • no matter how many modern pistols and calibers you shoot, there is just somthing special about a 1911. thank you for the hours of information and fun hickok!!

  • You taught that cabbage whose boss

  • When is john going to shoot?

  • Is that a gun sent to you for review or your own? Asking because the grip safety seems to have a lot of wear (finish worn off) on it.

  • Have you ever thowt abowt triing the colt/wallther 1911a1 in 22LR it`s a vaery reesent gun that cameout.

  • KILL THE CABBAGE

  • Hickok, have you ever considered to go out with Jeff and Heather?

  • @JustMyHonestOpinion - I'd go for the Springfield. My mom has two, and they're fantastic.

  • Beautiful 1911

  • The first frame of this video is pure love.

  • just watch out for zombie cabbage.

  • What camera are you using to record this?

  • @CaptainAwful

They did a video of the new camera. Look through the playlists.

  • Suddenly, I don't hate cabbage anymore.

  • The cabbage sucked lol, I was hoping for a big eruption like when you shoot watermelons. Always love your vids Hickok45 keep them coming

  • that cabbage head looks like osama's head after the raid!

  • Love your close ups of dirty guns. Shows they have been well exercised....

  • Nice. I'm really looking forward to your M249SAW video...the one which you turn that head of cabbage into a plate of sauerkraut. You could be the first person on Youtube to have your own firearms/food preparation channel! Just an idea...

  • Hickok, do you have or had ever an ak-74?

  • that thing is fing beautiful

  • Always enjoy watching your videos, thanks:)

  • Your draining sound is great.

  • i've been dying for one of these!! Big fan!! Keep up the shootin!! =D

  • LOL "drain him glug glug glug glug glug" made me laugh.

  • @JustMyHonestOpinion Both are good. I just love SpringField and Colt's 1911's. I would pick the SpringField over the Ruger due to looks. Both are good.

  • That is a work of art

  • is that the same gun big boss used?

  • Thats a fine looking gun buddy, thanks for sharing!

    Thumbs UP~~John

  • Good Morning Mr. Hickok.....Can the front sight on that gun be removed to add a HI VIZ sight etc? I think you could shoot that gun blind folded ;-)

    God Bless,

    Elba

  • pause your porno, hickok is on!

  • That is one way to make coleslaw!

  • Hey Mr. Hickok45, I was wondering if you could do a review on a Taurus PT 100. Thank you.

  • Nice vid men

  • No advertisement!! How did you pull that one off?

  • @JustMyHonestOpinion , I did not have them both at the same time, but I didn't notice any serious differences. I much prefer the sights on the Ruger, so if I were just going to pick on to go shoot for fun or competition today, I'd have to grab the Ruger SR1911. With different sights, or the front sight painted on the Range Officer, I might have a tough decision to make.

  • @hickok45

Good to know, because I've just ordered one (special import from USA to Chile).
