Been trying to get hold of some one about a big cat sighting my wife had the other day.
sent in a report and some paw print pictures, taken near a field, where i was talking to a farmer that said his sheep were scattered all over the place and was rounding them up.
i do not know if he got them all back, could you take
a look at the pictures of the paw and get back to me.
big cats like lynxs n black leopards were sold in the uk in harrods and other shops until 1976 when the license laws came in and the cats got released however the real question is could these cats survive from 1976? and surely a dead one would have been found by now?
There are big cats in the uk, the first are thought to be escaped species from prize collections from the farthest reaches of the empire. They then bred in small numbers and in 1976 after the dangerous animals act they were let go by owners who didnt wan't to pay for there animals to either be killed or taken to a zoo so just let them free and here we are numerous sightings but obly a few hundred live in the uk
Absolutely not a fake. If you believe you have evidence, please provide it and I will explain your error.
The railway in question is a standard gauge (1.435m) track and the animal is therefore around 1m in length excluding tail. This precludes both a domestic cat and a melanistic leopard (black panther) unless it's a juvenile. It is not a dog - it's gait is wrong and at around 20s you see its profile which is cat like. It also sprays at around 13s in a cat like manner.
very interesting, I've just come upon these stories, and this video looks as if it is a big cat but I'm not completely convinced it's not a black lab. tho it seems to move more like a cat than a dog. I would like to believe it is a cat tho, since there are so many sightings. it is funny because there are stories from my town in northern calif. of black panthers roaming the hills of annapolis.
Is was filmed by a police man walking his dog and he ran and got his phone from the car there are many sightings of big cats in britain My auntie saw one in dorset :)
officialy, big cats died out in britain+europe 9-7,000 yrs ago. bears and wolves were here till the 18th century. its highly unlkley that this thing-if its actually a big cat-was wild, probz an escaped cat
Thx for the acurate info:) The only reason I thought it may be a wild cat was because of the amount of big cats that was released into the wild illegally after the dangerous wild animals act was brought in in the 70's. Some people believe we have the right enviroment for big cats to breed and survive over here in the U.K. However you could be right and it could be an escaped cat! :)
I've got a railway sleeper next to me, and I can see that this appears to be one big cat. As it is walking on top of the rail, this gives a good item to size it against. My 2 dogs stand 23inch and 24inch at their shoulders, and the cat I would guess could be somewhere between 19inch and 24inch at the shoulders. [assuming its a normal guage railway of course!]
I have never seen them but have heard all about these animals. they must try hard to stay away from humans. I think it is better that we leave them be, they have not caused any harm
Were about was this filmed?

Wow this is some good footage! Little shaky but sill good. I remember seeing one of these big cats myself in Scotland when I was 11 yrs old.
Apparantly many, many years ago there used to be big cats, bears and even wolves here but because of hunting the numbers depleated to extinction.
Hopefully people will leave these creatures alone as they mean no harm and are beautifull to look at! :
