  • this my next Palahniuk novel, ah can't wait

  • Begin here the new life of operative me.

  • For official record, Agent 67, Operative Me, adopt new mission. Leave behind Vast Cow Father, Chicken Mother, Pig Dog Brother, Cat Sister. Must locate and eliminate 4 disgruntled youtube patron, Pig Dog Brother name "trolls", for glorious continuation of creator, Chuck Palahniuk. Quote benevolent leader, genius writer Chuck Palahniuk, quote "We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will."

  • This isn't Palahniuk's best novel, but it's definitely a fun little read. It gets too absurd at some points and just doesn't hold as much philosophy as his best novels, which I believe to be Fight Club, Survivor, and Choke. But Pygmy (character), has to be one of my favorites out of all of Chuck's protagonists. Mix this in with a fresh writing style, plenty of black humor, and a lovable cast of characters, Pygmy is a great book, if not short.

  • The book was Hilarious

  • @jsuglia Really now..you think he wrote the entire book in two hours? What made you come to this conclusion?

  • @jsuglia I have more than just a thought as to him stretching the truth in regards to that. Especially since no more than a minute later in that interview he goes on to say that as a journalist he would have to tell the truth and that always snagged him. :l

    ..

Either way though if that is the real truth then so be it. It doesn't at all make it any less than a lot of the crap churned out and worked on for years. :/

  • ohhhh well...The story still kicks ass, regardless of where the influence comes from in my opinion...THIS BETTER BE A FUCKING MOVIE!!!!!!!! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS SOMETHING ONLY QUENTIN TARANTINO AND ROBERT RODRIGUEZ COULD MAKE INTO SOMETHING REALLY REALLY AWESOME AND INTENSE!!!!!!!

  • @jsuglia what about Fight Club? What's that a plagiarised of?

  • @jsuglia That's like saying the Twilight series plagiarises Bram Stokers Dracula.

  • i lol at the colonel sanders part

it took me awhile to understand what agent 67 was talking about then i was like ohh KFC

  • Never thought of books getting trailers... cool book though especially the male on male rape seen with pygmys victim having a blue star asshole with red stripes running down his pale white legs, everywhere american. Man that line will be stuck with me forever.

  • i hope they make this into a movie. like fight club.

  • For official record, many ignorant American present on youtube, no understand Pygmy. No get humour, no patience for writing style. Typical substandard American educational system no make reader prepared make read Pygmy. Could be exploits of generic American girl infatuated by homosexual vampire make more suitable literature for American youtube viewers.

  • @scarryterry BEST COMMENT EVER, just the wording is excellent

  • @scarryterry reader me move head up, then down, then up. indicate yes.

  • @scarryterry This operative show much admiration towards fellow youtube viewer

  • @scarryterry You rule!

  • penis

  • i got this and invisible monsters. i started to read I.M. but ended up reading pygmy first. hard to read. but good read

  • im still trying to forget the imagery of a kid shoving melted candle wax down his dick

  • @douboymk2 Oh, Guts.

  • Not his best work. Plain and simple. I've read all of his books and have been a fan of Chuck's since Fight Club. His best was Diary - probably. Hard to decide.

  • @votumseparatum1 why try and list best from worst when they're all great in their own way? I mean, the way I look at pygmy is from an artists perspective, where this book emerges as one of the most compelling, original, fruitful books I've ever read. I can see where you're coming from though, because in all honesty, the dialog makes it a difficult read. I find myself rereading paragraph after paragraph but in the end it is soooo worth it. In my opinion at least lol.

  • Check out my Agent Ling web series and please subscribe! This book is one of my inspirations for making series.

  • Disgusting weird book. What's the soundtrack called?

  • Yeah, Half the time I didn't know what was going on in the book because of it's style. The parts I did understand were great, and It's a fascinating idea, but it's to the point where it's hardly readable.

  • My parents bought me this book for my 13th birthday... If they only knew the content...

  • @WalkingTravisty Hahaha cool.

  • Comment removed

  • SOMEONE WHO HAS READ THE BOOK AND LIKD IT!!!! I understand that's its harrd to read but is it really good as well? Also, what's this shit about the dude assaulting a guy at Wal-Mart

  • @unegrandetaylorrouge Most feasible ignorance portrayed in previous comment. No assault on clear-blonde bitch in Wal-Mart spa, instead, dry friction sodomy.

  • So far the worst book of Palahniuk, Im a big fan but this one sucks. I had to stop reading it, I don't think ill ever finish it.

  • @nixelputas Shame.

  • Wow this makes me want to put a lot more effort into trying to read this book.

  • this book, the way it's written, is so hard to read. but worth it.

  • i agree! I couldn't even finish it.. should i stick through it?

  • *SPOILER* (kind of)

I FINALLY finished reading it. Some chapters are absolute brilliance (masterpieces on their own). It was a fantastic read. I just saw a couple of plot holes, and that spy kids type of ending, with the kids coming together to fight off the operatives was too cheesy for me. What do you guys think?

  • I think the ending your talking about fits kind of well with me. The whole book is spent telling you that this kid is a killing machine. So naturally i would think that near the end he would have the climactic battle.

  • Oh, me too. No doubt he was to have to fight for his life/freedom, but with the pig-dog brother's cheesy line, somehow winding up in D.C., and HIM knowing enough to be able to fight off these trained badasses just from the few lessons Pygmy gave him, I felt that was way too cheesy.

  • The ending wasn't as good as I expected, but otherwise the book was great

  • guys, what's the name of the song?

  • this book was not what i expected :P

  • whats the backgrnd music? any idea guys?

  • Started to read.

Got a little offput after Chapter 2.

    Kept reading.

  • the wallmaaart chapter? you didnt like it!?

  • haha that was a fucked up chapter but it was hilarious

  • Common, first Palahniuk book or something?

  • Actually it was. Sorry. Just kind of picked the book up one day, hadn't heard of Palahniuk before.

  • I finished Pygmy the other day. It was good, but the ending was predictable. The mangled English took quite a bit of getting used to, though.

  • u mean u KNEW that pig-dog brother was the father of magada's kid?! spoiler lol

  • what the fuck?

people say this is, even better than fight club, just for being.. funny? or is there a real reason?

  • if you're Asian you will love it because he is appealing to the Asian reader writing from an Asian prespective and it is dead on. But you've got to remember these are grade 7 kids though. I can relate to alot of what his writing about. The first triumph over the bully was glorious! I had a moment like that myself, he tried to spear me I simply locked him into a DDT and his head hit the cement hard! Of course I was kicked out of the school. total transfer of schools FIVE!

  • His best book, in my opinion.

  • First book in a while to laugh out loud.

  • I NEED TO READ!

    LONG LIVE PALAHNIUK ;)

  • I just saw him at an event yesterday , to promote this new book. He is an incredibly cool guy. He tells the funniest stories and he writes something different for every person who asks him for an autograph. He's not like most famous people who'll just sign thier name and move on; he actually writes a little message to everyone. it was really hysterical because alot of people showed up all dressed up and they got special prizes. I heard for the Rant tour, girls came in wedding dresses lol

  • Why would they show up in wedding dresses if he's gay?

  • It's a reference to Rant. In the book, there's a group of people called Party Crashers who crash cars for fun. They have to decorate their cars different ways on different nights, so they can all know who to crash into. On one night, they're supposed to dress the car up like it's a newlywed's car. Cans tied to the back, "Just Married," and everyone's wearing tuxes and wedding dresses.

  • i met him at his latest book signing "Choke" a few years ago, yeah he is a cool guy, he wrote "never stop testing yourself" on my copy of choke, awesome movie btw.

  • In ym copy of Pygmy he called me his top-best lovely evil comrade" lmao.

I ddin't really like the movie Choke. It was nowhere near as good as Fight Club,.

  • you have to read the book first to understand the jokes in Choke. sadly only a handful of people that have read the book laughed out loud at the hidden jokes in the movies. read the book first then see the movie you will enjoy it more. theres only so much he can fit into the movie

  • choke was one of my favorait books by chuck, the movie was just okk, David Fincher did an awesome job on Fight Club

  • I still have a plastic rose and squeezy cheeburger from seeing Chuck at Vroman's for the "Rant" release. This one looks pretty fun.

  • It'sa decent book. At first the broken english syntax gave me a headache, but you get used used to it.

  • I like the song that's being used. Anyone know what it is?

  • Yay! Chuck is back (well, not that he ever left; Snuff just wasnt up to par I heard). Pygym was sooo damn funny and well written.

  • I've waited so long for this moment

  • After the "made-me-throw-up-in-mouth" quality of his last efforts I am about ready to give him his due for one great book and two really good ones and consign him to the long list of them what couldn't live up to their potential. He's got a last chance with this one.

  • who gives a shit about your review? stop reading if his work is that bad.

  • Pre-ordered.

    Oh...

    oh God...

    OH GOD!!!!!

    *palahniuk-gasm*

  • okay i was excited before

but then it said "The manchurian candidate meets South park"

    Oh my fucking god yes

    I just had an orgasm

  • I am ridiculously excited for this!! Pretty much every major reviewer who has reviewed this has said it is just as good, if not better than,Fight Club.

  • Having a hard time seeing the connection between a clever promotional vid and the quality of the book itself that others seem to be making.

How many cool, exciting 2-minute movie trailers turn out to be total duds when extended out to feature length? answer: the vast majority.

In other words, maybe wait to read the actual book before coming to a judgement on the book's quality. Don't just bend over to cheap "buy-me-now" adverting.

  • I love the music. I wonder who made it.

  • i cant wait! this has only made me more excited!

  • Looks very different to previous Palahniuk stuff. Looks like it'll either be incredibly good or absolutely awful.

  • 6 May come fasteeer

  • My god.

I wasn't sure about the book when I first read about it, but wow.

    Sounds amazing.

    When does it come out?

Hopefully I can try and finish the rst of his books before then. :P

  • Wooo!!!!

  • speaking of spontaneous erections, i've got one for this book! hellz yes, chuck!

  • I can't waaaait

  • im glad to see books, especially chucks books pushed like a movie would be pushed. about time.

they need to slow down some of the text, though, its hard to read. it reminds me of a bad dvd menu. the graphics and music were cool, just not clear enough for a youtube video. needless to say, i want to read this book!

  • Yes.

  • you have to hate those spontaneous erections... Cant wait for this book!

  • amazing.

  • excited.

  • yeah!!!!!!!!

  • awesome!
