Shoot! - like everybody else I'd loved to have seen the full performance. It seems to be Sandy in prime form, meaning a very rare and missed individual. But thanks, sandyfilm2011.
Thanks, much. And you might want to list the songwriter in your tags, "White Dress" is by Dave Swarbrick. I think it might have another title, too....
It is one definition of tragedy when genius passes through this world largely and woefully unnoticed, or under-noticed but she was something and somewhere beyond mortal anyway.
Great video - is there no more from these sessions? I heard some years back that there is film of this line up,shot professionally, from their Australian tour ( possibly at the Sydney Opera House?) but that the TV company wanted too much money to release it.....
This is amazing....There must be more of it....When are The BBC going to ireleasethe Documentary they made for Best of British ladies series...And its surely the time to make a movie about this sublime lady
Much more than beautiful. I've watched this about ten times in a row, and words cannot describe the feeling I get every single time. Incredibly moving.
Video Fotheringay - "Nothing More" 1,5 years are already known. Possibly, there is still a fourth video Fotheringay - "John The Gun" Вeat Сlub 61 Nov. 1970. But I have no it.
The entire song does exist, though with credits running over it as it ended the show. It was recently rediscovered in the ITNsource archive. Fairport Convention, August 9, 1975 on The London Weekend Show. There's also footage of other songs: 'The Brilliance Medley' and 'The Cherokee Shuffle'.
This is "White dress" from "Rising for the moon" - the final album she recorded with the Fairports in 1975 before returning to her solo career. And yes, a fantastic find! Even as a major Fairport collector I have never ever seen this clip. Thank you so much for putting it up. And yes: I too wonder if there's more...
@mocatmon This is great stuff, but come, come! You might want to listen to my other great favorite, Dani Klein of Vaya Con Dios. A very different creature to be sure, but both of these ladies are freakishly gifted singers, and I, for one, cannot choose between them!
BTW, what sort of odd being could actually step up and register a dislike for this? Cheers.
A Beautiful Minute. I'm not quite sure I could handle more emotionally.
