  • This is very nostalgic for me. It makes me long for time long past.

  • I love both the Rankin/Bass stop motion version from the 60s and this beautiful Fleischer cartoon from the 40s.

  • Lol! love Santa's face at 5:31

  • This version is the actual true story of Rudolf.

  • Wow Im 21 and I remember this when I was like 5 we had it on vhs, this and "Christmas Comes But Once A Year". Thanks for letting me see it again!

  • Wixen?

  • Wow, my parents bought this for me on VHS with a bunch of other Christmas cartoons!

Never thought I would see it again. Wonderful. Thanks for posting!

  • I can't believe that I have been able to find all these cartoons from the 1930s and 1940s! I watched these when I was a kid! It was all on one VHS! Gosh, I wish I still had them!

  • Merry Christmas guys !

  • what's wrong with having a red nose? X3 lol.

  • Technically reindeer do exist. Some people in North America don't think they do, but they actually do. It's mainly because Reindeer are called Caribou in North America

  • i used to watch this all year long when i was a kid.

  • out of all christmas specials i'd seen...thats alot, This is the most memorable...and my favorite...

  • i love these cartoons!!! i was born in 1992 but i had a movie with a bunch of these!!! its great!

  • This short almost kind of reminds me of the early 1940s Superman cartoons Max Fleischer did; his style really shows here.

  • Does anyone have the second part to this vhs? it was something to do inside the toy store when the toys came alive and then it turned into a christmas carol with the ball bounciong on the screen to sing along with

  • @kayler28 Type in 1948 toys will be toys. You will see a soldier by the big doll case. And thats it. (:

  • @kayler28 You can also type in 1948 oh you beautiful doll. That way the video is more at the top. Easier to find.

  • i used to watch this when i was little and so did my parents and so did their parents my kids will watch it if i have any :)

  • this is BS.. since when do reindeer's sleep in beds!!

  • One thing I never understood: in order for this fog to really pose a threat to Santa's yearly flight, it would've had to extend to the ENTIRE planet! Seriously, since when have you ever heard of a fog that was everywhere in the world at once?

But hey, I can't apply too much logic to a story where reindeer fly.

  • haha I didnt know anyone still knew about this. I have an ancient copy of it on a VHS.

Was one of my favorites as a wee youngin.

  • @PixieStew Then pay attention to it,you could learn something.A "youngin" LMAO,your kidding me right. You are cruel, you horse beater.

  • you should hear the translated version in french : It's a tragedy!! The voices are horrible, the sound is a mess... but I still watch it every year with my sister. It's the best Christmas movie ever! Thank you so much

  • I LOVE THIS! I'm wanting to buy this short film. I don't care if it's on VHS or DVD but I want it! If any one knows of a place it can be bought, PLZ let me know!!

  • 0:7 wichsen geill das heißt in englisch*************

  • I used to have this on VHS. I can't believe this is on Youtube! Thanks for uploading this!

  • What a delight to find this. I saw this almost 50 years ago at Saturday morning pictures. Has stuck in my mind ever since and always hoped I would see it again one day.

  • OMG this is it! this is the version ive been looking for! I lost it when i was younger. I need to find it so i can own it again. *sigh* memories :]

  • aww this is so cute..i LOVE it!

  • i remember watching this when i was 3 :D sweet memories :')

  • hey can you upload creature from the black lagoon :D

  • the story is now 70 years old

  • best ones

  • A quick note: The best quality copy of this cartoon appears as a bonus on Legend Films' DVD of March of the Wooden Soldiers (starring Laurel & Hardy). The only downside is that they weren't allowed to use the Rudolph song at the beginning and end, so the music has been changed. Luckily, the missing song is on this version, which is actually one of the better "public domain" copies (most DVDs use more worn copies with damaged frames in several spots, i.e. the "protected by pillows" line).

  • holy shit dude where did u get this?? this is like doesnt exist anymore lol i love it so much memories

  • thank you so so much!! we have the VHS tape, buts its practically distroyed now!

  • i love it! its so cute!

  • Where do you get these movies?

  • Anthropomorphic reindeer are creepy.

  • eh he kinda started around 1870

  • santas been told in storys since the 1800's as a simple wooden toy maker

  • richman: Plus, he's based on saint nick, who did exist at one time.

  • Fleischer and his team used those same graceful animation techinques and keyframing as he did in Popeye!

    So Kickass!

  • santa did kinda USE Rudolph. i mean he only needed him so that he can light his way. so in a way santa used Rudolph :P and santa doesn't look fat. he looks more strong.

  • @Randomvideoman101 I know! Before they found out his nose could shine they were all mean to him, but when they knew, he was suddenly a cool dude...
