I can't believe that I have been able to find all these cartoons from the 1930s and 1940s! I watched these when I was a kid! It was all on one VHS! Gosh, I wish I still had them!
Technically reindeer do exist. Some people in North America don't think they do, but they actually do. It's mainly because Reindeer are called Caribou in North America
Does anyone have the second part to this vhs? it was something to do inside the toy store when the toys came alive and then it turned into a christmas carol with the ball bounciong on the screen to sing along with
One thing I never understood: in order for this fog to really pose a threat to Santa's yearly flight, it would've had to extend to the ENTIRE planet! Seriously, since when have you ever heard of a fog that was everywhere in the world at once?
But hey, I can't apply too much logic to a story where reindeer fly.
you should hear the translated version in french : It's a tragedy!! The voices are horrible, the sound is a mess... but I still watch it every year with my sister. It's the best Christmas movie ever! Thank you so much
I LOVE THIS! I'm wanting to buy this short film. I don't care if it's on VHS or DVD but I want it! If any one knows of a place it can be bought, PLZ let me know!!
What a delight to find this. I saw this almost 50 years ago at Saturday morning pictures. Has stuck in my mind ever since and always hoped I would see it again one day.
A quick note: The best quality copy of this cartoon appears as a bonus on Legend Films' DVD of March of the Wooden Soldiers (starring Laurel & Hardy). The only downside is that they weren't allowed to use the Rudolph song at the beginning and end, so the music has been changed. Luckily, the missing song is on this version, which is actually one of the better "public domain" copies (most DVDs use more worn copies with damaged frames in several spots, i.e. the "protected by pillows" line).
santa did kinda USE Rudolph. i mean he only needed him so that he can light his way. so in a way santa used Rudolph :P and santa doesn't look fat. he looks more strong.
is so cut i like him.

This short almost kind of reminds me of the early 1940s Superman cartoons Max Fleischer did; his style really shows here.
