I own one, and frankly I agree with him. The details great, sure, But the price isoutrageous. And I hated putting it together becayse of how light the plastic was and how hard it was to get some of them on. And after I was done putting it together, yeah, I was proud and happy.

Point is, if u can afford a Hot Toys pred and get it, great, unless ur planning on doing more than just displaying it. Even if you just want to display a pred, Neca is still great quality, looks good on a shelf.

Grab it by the base of the beg inserted into the armor, use pliars if you must. The 3 I have one of them seems much more sensitive to removeable and I dont take it off, the other 2 are eaiser to take off though.

i got mine and the wristblades dont go as far as yours weird how long can they be pulled out.

The hook design on the blades makes it a little difficult to get them all the way out. The blades are at least a solid inch long though, you'll know when you have them maxed oiut because when they're out you can fold them upward.

If I had to recommend 2 figures for you, they'd be the Alien Warrior, and Unmasked wolf. The Warrior has really good articulation, and the Unmasked wolf is the same as Masked, but with more accessories.

NOTE: I ordered the new figures last week, The new Open mandible variant has all the accessories of the Closed mouth, and the stealth Wolf has that whimpy spear and 2 plasma casters.

I'll review 'em, don't worry.

Wolf has half his face melted, including his upper left mandible.

You may as well say Wolf flips a coin if that's how you make assumptions.

Besides, Concrete Jungle takes place (mostly) in 2030, AVP-R was in 2004.

cool video- my only complaint would be Wolf's head on the unmasked one, i think the expression fails- however i'm really happy that the new open-mouthed Wolf is much better and rectifies this- all in all i'll be buying all 3 so i get all the accessories. thanks for the very insightful review!

I found out why he has that expression, actually.

Theres a deleted scene in AVP-R where Wolf takes his mask off in the Predator ship that crashed and rereads the crash data from his dead friend.

I read about it in ADI's "Inside the creature shop" book.

I'm sorry, but, while the figures score in detail, I feel they lack. I personally don't own them, but have seen countless pictures and several other reviews (yours I found most helpful). I myself, am a articulation junkie, and I love putting my figures in dynamic poses. And with the Wolf figures, I just don't like their lack of POA and that slanted chest bothers me to no END! Not to mention the lack of color on the shurikens, plasma caster, and spear. Overall, I think McFarlane did better.

Luckily Mcfarlane didnt, and plus be didnt color his accessories either, and his figures had worse articulation since most of the poses you were restricted to look like the Predators arm was broken. Not to mention they're so frail that most people found them BROKEN in their packages.

So thats a shitty argument.

like I stated before, theres worse figures with worse articulation, Wolfs slanted chest is my only complaint, but thats about it. Sides if u watch my vids, it really isnt restricting.

Do you plan on repainting any parts on the NECA figures? I plan on touching up the skin tone on the Wolf unmasked. I still have to finish the spear, shoruken, and plasma cannons.

Why would u repaint his skin tone? It's the right tone and pattern.

If I'm going to touch up anything it might be the mask, give it a darker tone, outline the scratches with white paint. I dont plan on messing with the combistick since I'm not going to use it, the whip is alright, the shuriken doesnt need anything really, the actual prop used in the movie (Not the replicas, the 1's on screen.) were pure metallic with no brown spots. (The scene where wolf picks them up.)

The Hot Toys Wolf Pred is a scam.

I've seen enough pictures of what it really looks like to say it's basically the PS3 of Hot Toys. The guys reviewing it and showing it off on youtube are too fuckin' embarassed to admit they got jacked by 300 bucks.

The color scheme is wrong.

The Hand canon AND the cleaner kit it was supposed to come with have been ripped off.

The head sculpt is not good, and the hair on it is dried so all the hair is on its back.

and the damn helmet looks like a bubbled mess!

I'm not gonna lie, if I had the money, I'd probably buy it still, but it wouldn't b my first choice.

I thought the same thing about the neca preds when I first saw their packaged pics,but I was wrong when I got them. So I might get it 1 day and find out the same thing twice.

If not, I'll either get a refund, or paint it so its more accurate.

Know this though. It's still available on hot toy's website. Even the Elder and Chopper weren't available after the first few weeks.

I have to disagree with you my friend. With the NECA figure, I had to repaint the Spear (which was all silver), as long as the Shoruken. Hot Toys Wolf Predator is amazing. You must be seeing bad pictures.

The pictures were pretty clear that they screwed up more with hot toys than neca, my only real complaint was the casters werent painted like the prototype, and the spear and whip. All the Wolf is is a repainted Elder Predator with a disfigured face, the neca figure looks more like how wolf really does. Plus Wolf doesnt have brand spanking shiny new armor, so thats another point down, and he's not lime green either, he's light orange/yellow.
