I've heard this rumour. There are blog posts quoting various sites also. My banks are all open. Except tomorrow which is actually a bank holiday in Ireland, but we have them regularly, they are just public holidays. It's Halloween holiday.

I tried Wells Fargo a while ago & it seemed that they had all kinds of hidden charges - making me pay them to correct their mistakes, they were costing me an arm & a leg. I switched to a local bank a few years ago & I've had no problems.
