They are lying...they're trying to cover up things. Well, as an ex JW I can tell you that they do indeed shun former members....they are supposed to be proud, if he has nothing to hide, why won't he answer the question? In that religion, if someone is attacking you like that, you're supposed to defend it.
APOSTATE FAIL! Too bad he never said "SHAME ON YOU", that may have convinced them. So your saying, if a church member is an unrepentant practicer of gross sin, hang out with him & hear out his point of view. Maybe we dont like disobeying God but why shun wrongdoers that apostasize from God?
Oh yeah, 2 John 10,11 "If anyone comes to you & does not bring this teaching, NEVER receive him into your homes OR say a greeting to him. For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works"
@WripRoss I am still a Jehovah's Witness because as I've stated previously, unlike Catholics & Protestants, when Jehovah's Witnesses learn something they believe or practice is wrong they stop it & actively help others in the newly discovered "pit" to get out or warn them before they fall in. EX: JWs use to celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc up until the early 1900s. Then they learned such practices are rooted in demonism & pagan gods. Thus they no longer participate in them.
@shawso7 The biggest lie in the JW is religions telling people that birthdays, etc are rooted in demonism. The Bible states that we have the right to celebrate what we want. For example, the Jews made up the holiday of Purim. The Jews made up the Holiday of Hanuka. Those holidays are still celebrated by the Jews. And, in Purim, gifts were handed out to people. The Bible states that one person considers one day above another day, while another person considers all days alike.
@chapmaned thats sad...you actually believe birthdays, etc are NOT rooted in pagan practices & demonism? Ok. I mean, as strange as it sounds there are still people who believe in Satan Clause, Easter bunny & tooth fairy. Some may think that your just lazy & won't do the research. Others may excuse your ignorance through a "busy lifestyle" pardon. Ultimately, making up a holiday celebration is not the issue here. Because Christians didnt initiate these practices. But they were initiated by Satan!
@shawso7 I suppose you thought SUPERMAN was real as a child, right? Come on, man. It is innocent play. Games. Not a religious meaning of any type. It has absolutely NOTHING TO DO with pagan anything. You are told that in order to convince you that anything outside of your religion is evil.Christ set us free from that mindset. You say that Christians didn't initiate these practices? I say that you are dead wrong. Besides, Christians have authority to celebrate anything they want.
@chapmaned@chapmaned 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness & lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? Further, what harmony is there between Christ & Be′li·al? Or what portion does faithful person have with unbeliever? & what agreement does God’s temple have with idols?...quit touching the unclean thing & I will take YOU in & I shall be a father to YOU & YOU will be sons & daughters to me says Jehovah.
@shawso7 You are misusing scripture. You THINK you are a believer. But you are not. The Bible states that we can celebrate anything we want. Romans 14:4-6. Oh, and lets not foget Colossians 2:20-22. FREEDOM, BABY...LIBERTY. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? YOU ARE FREE. Christians do not walk on egg shells as you do.
@chapmaned You dont get it. I AGREE with ALL YOU'VE SAID! Now with that in mind I'll not jump to conclusions (as you've done with me) or assume your FREEDOM DOES NOT INCLUDE rape, murder, theft. Right? Christian freedom does not include WICKED PRACTICES, but it is reasonable freedom. Thus, we ask God, "What do you require of us? What are our limits?" The bible answers: (1 Corinthians 5:9-13) *Verses listing gross sins then*..."Remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.” STUDY PREVIOUS POST
@shawso7 I was once asked by someone who I had spoken to the question, "Oh, so I can do anything I want and still get to heaven?" My response was, "YES, IF ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO IS LOVE." The law is for the lawless. Love fulfills the law. There is no wickedness in love. There is no wickedness is celebrating what you want. The question is, what does love look like to you? People like you will talk "obedience". We are obedient to Faith, not do's and don'ts. LOVE is the commandment.
@shawso7 God told Peter to EAT THE UNCLEAN THING, AS IT IS NO LONGER UNCLEAN. PAUL STATES THAT NOTHING THAT GOD MADE IS UNCLEAN. Paul also states "Conscience, not thine own, but the other, why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?"
LOL JW and their shunning. It's true that they shun people. They are very controlling.... much like a cult..... I'm glad I am religion free!! Religion is ignorance, religion divides humanity.
The Greek word “Theotetos” meaning “Godship, Deity, Godhead” is mistranslated as “divine quality” to detract from the full Deity of God being attributed to Christ in this passage. (Col. 2:9)
Greek “kolasis” is translated “cutting-off” instead of “punishment” to support the Watchtower’s belief in annihilation and the rejection of an eternal place of torment called “hell.”
The Greek words “ego eimi” meaning “I am” are mistranslated as “I have been” to obscure the connection between Jesus being the "I Am" Jehovah God of Exodus 3:14. (John 8:58)
@letusreason1234 Ex 3:14:"God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" (NASB) --"God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (ESV) --"God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'" (NIV) - 3 Bibles of many render it like this.
@letusreason1234 "Ex3:14" - The Greek Septuagint is the Hebrew Old Testament translated into Greek, done by Jews around 250 B.C. They translated Exodus 3:14 as 'ego eimi' "I AM".) ---In Greek I am is 'ego eimi,' which means ‘I am.' These are the same words used in John 8:58, where Jesus says "...before Abraham was, I am." He was claiming the divine title by quoting Exodus 3:14. " -- have you already got together the 5 secret members and their biblical language education?
The Hebrew itself is "Eheyeh Asher Eheyeh" which does not translate "I Am" at all...
"Ani Asher Ani" would say "I Am..." but this would make no sense in the Hebrew, and certainly is NOT what Jehovah said...
Jehovah said "Eheyeh Asher Eheyeh" which means "I shall prove to be What I shall Prove to be" and does NOT correspond in any way to Jesus saying he was older the Abraham...
DUH...
All the Angels are... The were created before the Earth...
@letusreason1234 Would you pls look at your last comment and verify how it contradicts itself? You say: "all the angels are - they were created before the earth..." but in the sentence before you say that Jesus did not say that he existed before Abraham (?!?). There is a lot to say to your comment - where to start? Your NWT rendered the hebrew "Eheyeh Asher Eheyeh" literally, I suppose leaned on "Aquila and Theodotion", the first one rendered it from the hebrew literally into greek in the
@letusreason1234 in the 1st century as: "esomai hos esomai" and "esomai" which in turn translate as "I will be who I will be" and "I will be". The Septuagint translates ehyeh asher ehyeh of Ex 3:14a into Greek as "ego eimi ho on", which in turn translates into English as "I am the one who is", and it translates the absolute ehyeh of 3:14b as "ho on", "the one who is". This earliest of all translations of the Hebrew associates the revelation of Exodus 3:14 with the concept of ABSOLUTE existence.
@letusreason1234 The Septuagint translation of the verse cannot be an exact rendering of the Hebrew because neither the form of words nor the actual words of the Greek translation allow for that possibility. That would make sense why all biblical scholars rendered it not literally and kept in mind the context of the whole Bible - Aquila did NOT.
@letusreason1234 I AM shows God who is in the present as He always was in the past and as He always will be in the future. If God were to designate Himself in absolute terms that refer to the future ('I will be'), that would imply that He is not yet God, or that He is God but is in a state of becoming somehow other than how He now is, both of which are absurd and unacceptable to the Mosaic monotheist. If you were a Christian you would consider the fact WHY the traditional Jews killed Jesus
@letusreason1234 "I, I AM, the one blotting out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins (Isaiah 43:25) compare what Jews thought of Jesus and why the religious leaders wanted to kill him: And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven." But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?" Mark 2:5-7 and
@letusreason1234 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins (John 8:24). It implies that from your standpoint of view you say that God the Almighty could not have directed the proper translation of his Word that his purpose was not to save many ppl but only those who still hold to traditional Jewish beliefs - without considering many many verses that indicate that Jesus is the revelation of YHWH which can be proven by OT+NT
@letusreason1234 and it implies that of course, you, JW, had to come into existence in 1873 (pretty much the beginning of the time we can identify to be shortly before Christs coming given through the events that followed ever since. When asked by the apostles remember what he said first what would happen in these last days? Matthew 24:24 says "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive..
@letusreason1234 false Christs = cath. religious leaders?! your "anointed" ones or your organisation that preaches that salvation comes through how you treat the "anointed" - remember the article WT 1 August 1981 which contradicts that Jesus is the only way and salvation? false prophets = watchtower, cath. prophets throughout history?! and also it is remarkable how close cath. & JW in fact are, they just don´t want to see it. "Kingdom Interlinear" = transl. by 2 Jesuits (..)
@letusreason1234 Johannes Greber - former rom. cath. priest turned to spirit mediums to write "his" "translation" of the NT adopted by the Watchtower, still in use to date, also the doctrines. And last but not least: Your NWT is based on the oldest manuscripts - but are these reliable since the oldes manuscripts could only exist so long because they were erronous, verses even were stated 2 x in passages, they were not written on papyrus but on skins of unborn animals and. Early Christians
@letusreason1234 used definately papyri. and there are quotations existing only from the "majority text" (over 5.000 manuscripts), never quoted from these unknown manuscripts that the modern versions and NWT now use.
I don´t know why you still don´t have the courage to name the 5 non-scholars who "translated" your Bible, the NWT?
@letusreason1234 and it is also remarkable and strange that these older manuscripts that your NWT is based on was (a bit strange :)) for 1.300 yrs hidden by the cath. church.
@letusreason1234 by your logic the divine name YHWH should be translated into: I shall be - why do you then don´t translate instead "I am that I am" into "I shall be"? I shall become who I am becoming" which indicates a LIVING ,moving Elohim (God)."God is not the God of the dead, but of the living" Mt 22:32. " - see what Jesus says in Rev. 1:18: "I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
@letusreason1234 Rev.: 1:7,8: "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Jesus)
@letusreason1234 compare: Is 44:6"This is what Jehovah has said, the King of Israel and the Repurchaser of him, Jehovah of armies, ‘I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God. --- How many FIRST AND LASTS can there be? Still waiting for some facts on the translators of your NWT.
And there are no gods together with me. ---(question: your NWT renders John 1:1: "and the Word was a god" - how come Jehovah says there are no gods together with him?---
comp. Jesus speaking in John 8:24: ""Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM HE, you will die in your sins." (...)
@letusreason1234 hey there, remember that we started reasoning and then you just stopped? btw: its "heavenclear" :) from another channel. You said in our "conversation" that Jesus is an angel... are there biblical references you can give as to prove this theory? greets!
MEN I NOT A JW BUT IF THAT GUY WAS IN MY FACE LIKE THAT I SEND THAT FUCKER TO THE HOSPITAL,FUCK FACE.LOL.JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA,DONT GIVE A FUCK WHA ALL YA THINK ABOUT ME ,MY COMENT.
Unfortunately all you do when you come at Witnesses in such a combative way is to make them think that they are right (they'll see it as persecution). Come at them with true kindness and love so they have nothing with which to truly condemn you.
I personally think that the Watchtower group teaches its members to shun because they think its members are too uneducated to refute heretical claims.
I have been silent for nearly 50 years until I stumbled on to one of these jehovah's witness videos. I realized that there are so many who have suffered at the hands of this fanatical brainwashing cult. Now I will add my voice to the growing numbers of those who came to realize that this is a dangerous, fanatical cult that DEMANDS complete obedience without question, the wtbt society's teachings. islam believes in honor killings, jw's is worse, the "Shunning bullet" makes you wish U were dead
jw's...can you tell me where in the biblecan i read that you (jws) must shun a former member of your congregation? does the bible really teach us so???
this guy needs to get a life honestly, My family became Jehovah Witnesses back in 2007 while i was Gang banging and selling drugs, didn't want nothing to do with Jehovah, yet my family stilled showed love and support for me, never let me down, even the brothers and sisters cared for me and always offer me their help. so plz get a life
OK can any """JEHOVAH WITNESSES""" tell me why do you have the "PHOENICIAN ALPHABET"" writin in your BIBLE over and over again??? look in the "NEW WORLD TRANSLATION of the HOLY SCRIPTURES..."Psaims" 111 112 119 9 25 34 37 145... ""Lamentations" 1 2 3 4... proverbs 31 but in hebrew aleph, beth, gimel, ...est (a.k.a 22 path for kids psalms 119 in your own bible) (please,,some JW get back at me when they tell you its just hebrew words.)...." REsearch " wikipedia "the phoenician alphabet"
And thinking of wrong dates from WTS from over the last hundred years, well I say dates upto 1975 when they got it wrong again, and they slate Harold Camping.
You do realize, sir, that you are arguing with the Bible, right?
While you may not agree with it, the Bible itself gives the instruction to disfellowship...
(1 Corinthians 5:11) But now I am writing YOU to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.
(1 Corinthians 5:13) while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.”
I don't really care what you think, but the Bible is clear on what to do in this situation... You stop association, not even eating with the person...
If they come back around and are repentant then good... If not, then fellowship is no longer to be had...
If you disagree then it is only with the Bible, not me...
@murdaman702 Paul specifically says that those no longer in the world who return to practice their sinful life style should be avoided... not embraced...
Preaching is to be done to those who are still apart of the world, not to those who have left it and have returned to it....
@letusreason1234 thats paul not christ who says that...and christ said to love the sinner and i think we need to follow what christ says more than what paul says...jehova witnesses lie and twist and pervert the bible to fit there doctrine..if someone turns from YAH u should try to bring them back and not shun them jehova witnesses add and take away from the bible and they claim god is there final authority but yet the have a worldly authority they rely on 4 answers in NY
@letusreason1234 lol I think you've mess the point. You must know that the bible applies to your religion too. Not only to us "worldly folks. So you re telling me that you don't care when people uses their bibles to bash the watchtower. If you don't care then you dangerous folks need to stay off our property.
If people do not know how to use their Bible, then they are not really bashing anyone with it are they?
That is like saying you can threaten someone with a gun, but you are pointing it at yourself...
No one has ever bashed me with a Bible, so no, I don't care what they might say...
Jesus commanded true Christians to knock on your doors... How you treat them when they do is between you and Jesus when the time comes... Has nothing to do with what I think..
@letusreason1234 does it bother you that you are quoting from a "Bible" (NWT) that your organ. claims to be the most accurate translation - yet was translated by 5 men who were non-scholars? Fred Franz (one of the 5), your former president had to admit at court - transcriptions of the court hearing available on google - that he could not translate a very simple sentence into the languages involved?
(google for expl. "Fred Franz Court Transcripts, November 24, 1954".
I am sure you believe everything you read on the internet, right? Hate sites included?
How's about you go get yourself a copy of the NWT and find for me some of these 'Inaccuracies' that you are implying are within it...
I hear this allot, but am yet to see one...
Most modern translations today are just now beginning to check back with the original scrolls and make corrections... The Same one the NWT has already made...
@letusreason1234 see, the problem is: you believe everything they tell you. They (WT) teach you that you have the "most accurate" translation of the Holy Scriptures, right? It is true that in these latter days manuscripts are available that date to the 1st century. These older manuscripts have been put into modern Bibles like the NASB, NIV etc. Also into your NWT. The difference is unfortunately that when it comes to the Deity of Christ the WT has changed this fact in your NWT.
@letusreason1234 one example: of the now existing 5.000 manuscripts of the original greek scriptures the divine name does not appear ONCE through all centuries - from the oldest to the youngest papyri it does not occur ONCE - since God had a purpose to not do so as he is revelealed in Jesus, "the name above every name". If I had to post all the changes the WT made - the space here is not enough. Every greek/english interlinear will prove to you these changes. Take only one expl: John 14:14
@letusreason1234 or: The Greek word “ginoskosin” meaning “to know, intimately” is mistranslated as “taking in knowledge of” to support the Watchtower doctrine that accurate knowledge is necessary for eternal life. Changing this translation from “know You” (as all other Bible translations have it) to “taking in knowledge of You” shifts the focus from a personal relationship with God to a mere intellectual study of God to gain eternal life. (John 17:3)
@letusreason1234 DISTORTING GOD’S WORD (Proverbs 30:6): The WT claims that the translators of their NWT remained anonymous, but when research uncovered who the translators were, it was discovered that most of the translators were on the WT Governing Body and all of them lacked the necessary education needed to produce an accurate translation.
@letusreason1234 Greek Scholars have consistently found it to be a biased translation by distorting verses to fit Watchtower doctrine and adding to God’s Word by inserting “Jehovah” in the Christian Greek Scriptures against all Christian Greek manuscripts. Would Jehovah be behind an organization that “adds” and “takes away” from His Word? NOW MY QUESTION: Could YOU pls name the 5 non-scholars who "translated" the NWT? and also give some information on their greek/hebrew-knowledge?
Sure... But since YOU made this accusation I would like to see some evidence of this so-called 'Mistranslation' within the NWT...
What examples do you have to show?
Rather then making such 'In-general' and 'Broad/Unspecific' statements like "Greek Scholars have..." which is Unverifiable... please provide these Scholars NAMES and the portion of the NWT they find to be 'BIAS' and 'poorly translated'...
please present 5 scriptures that are mistranslated...
@letusreason1234 dear sir, you must be joking, right? or you must have been in a hurry :D - if you look below you will see a approx. more than 20 mistranslations - 6 of them even explained as to how real scholars of the biblical languages all render it in contrast to the New World Translatio. I hope you will check them yourself with your greek interlinear as to make sure that these are really facts and not product of someone merely interested in personally offending you as a JW
@letusreason1234 I´m looking forward to your giving accurate facts as to the knowledge and scholarship of the biblical languages as well as the acc. names of the 5 formerly secret men of the transl. committee for the NWT of the JW; I myself will provide a list of real scholars of the biblical languages (in fact all of them do not agree with the translation of your Bible and even say that the NWT is one of the most shocking translations ever) - who do not agree with your NWT.
@letusreason1234 Look, I don´t know which language we should choose for our communication. I have quoted only a few of the mistranslations by your 5 non-scholars who dared to change God´s Word and dared to make false prophesies. Anyone can see this right here on this page and the one before. I have given proof of the more than 5 Scriptures you were asking for and I understand that you must be a little "nervous" about giving the proof of the knowledge of bibl. hebrew/greek of these people for NWT
@letusreason1234 1: Dr. Bruce M. Metzger of Princeton (Prof. of New Testament Language and Literature): "A frightful mistranslation." "Erroneous" and "pernicious" "reprehensible". "If the Jehovah's Witnesses take this translation seriously, they are polytheists."
@letusreason1234 2: 1: Dr. J. R. Mantey (who is quoted on pages 1158-1159) of the Witnesses own Kingdom interlinear Translation): "A shocking mis-translation." "Obsolete and incorrect." "It is neither scholarly nor reasonable to translate John 1:1 'The Word was a god.'"
@letusreason1234 3. Dr. Samuel J. Mikolaski of Zurich, Switzerland: "This anarthrous (used without the article) construction does not mean what the indefinite article 'a' means in English. It is monstrous to translate the phrase 'the Word was a god.'"
4. Dr. Paul L. Kaufman of Portland, Oregon: "The Jehovah's Witnesses people evidence an abysmal ignorance of the basic tenets of Greek grammar in their mistranslation of John 1:1."
@letusreason1234 5. Dr. Charles L. Feinberg of La Mirada, California: "I can assure you that the rendering which the Jehovah's Witnesses give John 1:1 is not held by any reputable Greek scholar."
6. Dr. James L. Boyer of Winona Lake, Indiana: "I have never heard of, or read of any Greek Scholar who would have agreed to the interpretation of this verse insisted upon by the Jehovah's Witnesses...I have never encountered one of them who had any knowledge of the Greek language."
@letusreason1234 7. Dr. William Barclay of the University of Glasgow, Scotland: "The deliberate distortion of truth by this sect is seen in their New testament translations. John 1:1 is translated: '...the Word was a god,' a translation which is grammatically impossible...It is abundantly clear that a sect which can translate the New Testament like that is intellectually dishonest."
@letusreason1234 8. Dr. F. F. Bruce of the University of Manchester, England: "Much is made by Arian amateur grammarians of the omission of the definite article with 'God' in the phrase 'And the Word was God.' Such an omission is common with nouns in a predicative construction...'a god' would be totally indefensible." [Barclay and Bruce are generally regarded as Great Britain's leading Greek scholars. Both have New Testament translations in print!]
@letusreason1234 9. Dr. Ernest C. Colwell of the University of Chicago: "A definite predicate nominative has the article when it follows the verb; it does not have the article when it precedes the verb...this statement cannot be regarded as strange in the prologue of the gospel which reaches its climax in the confession of Thomas. 'My Lord and my God.' - John 20:28"
@letusreason1234 10. Dr. Phillip B. Harner of Heidelberg College: "The verb preceding an anarthrous predicate, would probably mean that the LOGOS was 'a god' or a divine being of some kind, belonging to the general category of THEOS but as a distinct being from HO THEOS. In the form that John actually uses, the word "THEOS" is places at the beginning for emphasis."
@letusreason1234 only ten of hundreds of real scholars of the biblical/greek language. Should you wish more names and accusations, pls. let me know. don´t forget the 5 secret men and THEIR education on the biblical languages, thx in advance.
@letusreason1234 -----"or an idolater" - are you aware you are "an idolater" yourself? You put the Governing Body of the Watchtower Society onto the place where Jesus only should be for salvation. are you aware of that?
@letusreason1234 oh no, I love you and God loves you and he wants you to have eternal life. Maybe you change your mind about me knowing or not sth about your organ. after reading your WT magazine of 1 August 1981: "..how you treat the anointed is the sole determining factor as to whether you have everlasting life or everlasting cutting off."
The Article points out that how you treat Christs Brothers is how you treat him... It is not a new teaching, but comes directly from the Bible:
(Matthew 25:40) And in reply the king will say to them, ‘Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did it to one of the least of these my brothers, YOU did it to me.’
If someone comes to your door and wants to talk about the Bible and you are rude, or slam the door in their face, Christ takes it as though you did it to him
@letusreason1234 I have asked you to read the article. Have you read it? It says your salvation ONLY depends on how you treat the anointed. How does this fit to the Bible? ""And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
(ACTS 4:12)´check the pagan roots of the Watchtower, they don´t point to the one who can save you, make sure you are sitting in the right ark!! They´re FALSE PROPHETS - evidences don´t lie
@letusreason1234 if you don´t believe it - may I ask you to give biblical references as to how "Pastor" Russel (Freemason) calculated the 1914-generation. Is there ANY BIBLICAL reference for his figures??? But instead of looking into the Bible I recommend to read "Divine Plan" - he calculated it with the Pyramic of Giza - The sun god Horus symbol is an many of your publications - Finished Mistery etc.
God says "prove all things" - if your beliefs are true you should not be afraid to examine
@HeavenClear You are so right in what you are saying; The Divine Plan of Ages is where 1914 came into play, measuring passage ways, and I think I am right in saying it was 1915 that was the original date but shifted it when WW1 broke out, And now this generation has changed 1914 means nothing, As Raymond Franz said, how many things have changed over the years, they keep Speculating on dates yet the Bible never changes.
@letusreason1234 can someone be Christ´s brother if he dared to change his Word, the Bible? Or makes false prophesies? I think Jesus was very clear with that: Matthew 7:15
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves"
can you deny defending a false prophet? check the evidences.
Well I have to say as a JW and been struggling with certain things, like things that get changed like dates of Armageddon, this generation and others, and in the in the Feb 1, 2012 watchtower criticising a Harold Camping getting the date of Armageddon wrong,
and I think to myself (and gone through publications from the WTS going back to 1907) people in glass houses should not be throwing stones, which brings me to this video, I questioned the info we get from the governing body to a elder, and guest what the light getting brighter come into play, I said to him does this light involve prisms because from where I’m standing this so called light goes round corners and back and forwards on its self,
Well the next week came for our chat; he said to me, are you questioning the faithful and discreet slave? Because if you are your bordering on being an apostate, I said I have no problems with the Bible, and he then again said about the F&DSlave, I said I do have a problem with the shifting of goal posts, Then I sensed the atmosphere change, and it ended that chapter for the day no doubt to have a mothers meeting.
The jehovah's witnesses are an insidious cult of fanatics. They are like the taliban, instead of guns and bombs to spread their religious dogma, they have perfected brainwashing. So many lives have been ruined by them. EXPOSE THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE...EVIL
This cheap two bit jehovah is a false god, created to enslave people
I have had at least 50 emails from this site and I'm starting to understand how Jesus felt when the false religious leaders of his day kept questioning him to try to make accusations against him so they could try to prove him as a liar. I like hockey and I'm also starting to feel like Don Cherry...enough already! Now I know why the elders recommend that we stay off these sites. So good by. No more answers..find your own...lol.
@badwingduck1 - Yeah, they don't want you on these sites because you just MIGHT come to understand that your beliefs can NOT be defended in a rational manor. - Really friend.... JWfactsDOTorg, Combating Cult Mind Control, and Crisis of Conscience. You need to check these out before you WASTE anymore of your life on the so called religion known as the Jehovah's Witnesses.
JWs ARE A HERETICAL CULT, ACCORDING TO GAL. 1 THEY ARE ACCURSED FOR SPEADING ANOTHER GOSPEL, BUT THE FACT IS, ALL REAL CHURCHES PRACTICE SOME SORT OF CHURCH DISCIPLINE:
1 COR. 5 VERSES 1 - 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
HOWEVER, REAL CHURCH DISCIPLINE ALWAYS WORKS TO THE END OF BRINGING THE DISCIPLINED MEMBER BACK INTO FULL FELLOWSHIP, NOT TO DESTROY LIVES OR BAN FOREVER!
Also, if I were still a brother I wouldn't have answered this guy either. He was aggressive and not once did he allow that brother to answer any of his questions. Listen folks..you just got a good example of how Satan taunts Jehovah and his people. As Proverbs 27 verse 11 says "Be wise my son, and make my heart rejoice, that I may make a reply to him that is taunting me". I think these brothers handled this guy kindly and with wisdom. Don't you just love sensationalism?
I AM a disfellowshipped person, so this comes from the heart. I knew what God's requirements were when I did the things I did and I got what I deserved. I do not blame Jehovah or the brothers..I am to blame and no one else. My family shuns me, but for good reason..because they care about me and want me to stop doing bad things. Shunning is scriptural and once you show genuine repentance by correcting your conduct, you can be reinstated. Both situations you;ll find in 1st and 2nd Corinthians.
@badwingduck1 - The Bible does say to not associate with drunkards and adulterers and such....but could you please show me the scripture that says people should be shunned for having or going to a birthday party?....or voting....or military service? (Remember, the when asked what he needed to do in order to be a good Christian...was the Centurion told to quit the army?) Or the myriad of other things the Society shuns for? Hmmmmm? Face it, you should be glad you are out.
@GungHo1032 Sure..I'll try my best here..Start with 2 Timothy 2:24 "But a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, keeping himself restrained under evil" also "thou shalt not kill". Even if the centurion was not told to quit, through reason he may have seen the need to do so just based on this scripture alone. Next..John 18:36 where it states in part...Jesus speaking..."My kingdom is no part of the world"Next, I don't even (next post0
@badwingduck1 need to quote a scripture because everybody knows the Lord's prayer of which says in part "Thy kingdom come..on EARTH .. as it is in heaven.
Well, we are either ambassadors for that kingdom that we pray for and we trust in it;s ability to solve man's problems...or we go vote for another..which would you prefer..man's rule or god's? If God's..why would you vote for a man made kingdom that doesn't have the answers? Isn't your vote already in every time you say that prayer?
@badwingduck1 It's not much different than treason, and in some countries...they still put you to death for treason let alone shun you. Birthdays? Well, here we rely on scriptural principal. First, this was a celebration carried out by ancient pagan nations which doesn't bode well for it. Secondly, there are no scriptural accounts that show us that either Jesus or any of his followers celebrated them, although he did celebrate weddings and commanded, yes commanded us to celebrate his death
@badwingduck1 thus showing us how much more important it is to celebrate his death than his birth. Also the tradgedies that you mentioned earlier that occurred as a result of celebrating them. Their pagan beginnings should tell us right away that they are probably not a practice that God approves. If theorigions are pagan, then it is demonic by nature and one can be disfellowshipped for practising such things.
@badwingduck1 - Wedding rings are pagan and have demonic roots. Don't the JW's wear them? Why is this? Why do they pick and choose which "pagan" things they say are OK?
@badwingduck1 - So; you are admitting that when it comes to birthdays there is no CLEAR Biblical command, but just vague "principles." Seems to me that if there is no clear command, it should be left up to your God given conscience...not twelve old men in Brooklyn. - Oh, and what about ...was it Lot's or Job's sons that celebrated their "special day."....what do you think THAT was?
@GungHo1032 Read 1 corinthians 10:20 and 21. Birthdays were celebrations of pagan background and as we find with history and scripture were not celebrated by Jesus or his followers. Therefore we either partake of the table of Demons such as celebrating any sort of pagan ritual including birthdays, or of the table of Jehovah and stay clear of such celebrations. This is no minor scriptural principle.
@badwingduck1 - If I were you, I would be very careful about accusing others of partaking from the table of demons. After all, they teachings of the cult you are defending, come from demons in the pit of hell. - BTW, ONLY a high control cult would consider a kids birthday party a "serious" sin worthy of being stoned over. You really need to step back and get a grip.
@badwingduck1 - Please don't sidestep my question....WHY was the Centurion NOT told he could not be a Christian while in the military? Are you saying the Bible contradicts itself? - Oh brother....you are so misinformed. It is NOT thou shall not kill...it is thou shall not MURDER. Some people will always need to be killed. - AND we are to be in SUBJECTION to the superior authorities.
@GungHo1032 True christians do not become involved with bloodshed for any reason..as Jesus said "you must love even your enemy", and I do not see taking the life of someone's father or son as loving my enemy. We are to be in subjection to the superior authorities, however, Jesus said "pay unto Ceasor what belongs to Ceasor but pay unto God what belongs to God" meaning that we obey man's law until it interferes with God's law. That;s when we draw the line.
@badwingduck1 - Really? So why did Jesus tell his followers to go out and buy Roman Battle Swords....the M16 of the day? - But let me get this straight....if you caught a man raping your wife with a knife to her throat and you had a gun, you would read the Bible to him? - If so, you are a poor excuse for a human.
I am also shunned by a different religious group. However, I disagree with your confrontational methods. You will not gain any respect from the Jehovah Witnesses or any one else by trying to publicly embarrass them.
It really is sad that so many people have been misled by this cult and their teachings from the pit of hell. Such as... - "Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual Israel, which is limited to only 144,000 members." Worldwide Security Under the "Prince of Peace" pp.10-11
I was born and raised as a JW's. My Mother was disfellowshiped for not being able to quit a forty year smoking habit. She was given six months. Was given a date and time to quit by. She got down to 2 a day and was going to quit. Three brothers showed up (on time) and told here that she didn't love Jehovah enough because she hadn't quit. Not only was she shunned but the rest of us were. You are told not to be part of the world so you are expected shun everyone who is!!
Not really. I can understand how they seem that way on the outside but I've always found them to be lovely people. It's a little awkward when they show up on my doorstep and invite me back but no big deal. And they do actually teach Jesus as mediator for all. They do minimize him as well like you said by not teaching the trinity which only popped up in church doctrine many centuries after his death, but no more than Jesus did himself stated the father is greater than I.
Regless0000 - Why do you defend these people when you don't know what they teach? - "Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual Israel, which is limited to only 144,000 members." Worldwide Security Under the "Prince of Peace" pp.10-11
You will be MY witnesses said Jesus. - To bad the JW's minimize Jesus every chance they get...even teaching that he is not the mediator for all, and that belief in him alone is not enough for salvation. - To gain salvation, ya have to be a JW don't ya know. (Insert rolling eyes here.)
@GungHo1032 Sorry. I promise this is the last thing I'll bring up and then I'll leave you alone. It's just that JWs don't make a claim of who gets to be saved. I brought this up with them when I wasn't sure about something. IE how bad of a sin is communicating with someone whose been DF'd. This seemed to be reoccurring pattern online, so I wanted an answer. The answer I got was very simple. It's not their place to judge, they just spread the word. (To be continued)
@Regless0000 - Again, you are sadly misinformed as to what they teach....""Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19
"Similarly, Jehovah is using only one organization today to accomplish his will. To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it." Watchtower 1983 Feb 15 p.12
@GungHo1032 I am not so uninformed as to what happened in the days of Noah when an entire system was destroyed...yes men, women and children because they didn't climb aboard the arc. There was only one boat then, and there's only one now and I don't plan to miss it.
@badwingduck1 - I would say you are pretty misinformed. - That one boat is called God's GIFT of Grace. And the boat you're on is sitting at the bottom of the lake.
@badwingduck1 - And that's because like most JW's, you don't care about what is the truth, and what isn't. The Kingdom Hall is just a social club after all.
Sometime they do let their bias bleed into there preaching. I remember they used to sick their foot in the door when you tried to shut it on them. My mother is in fact a terrible example of letting her bias bleed into her speaking. However I know that they are specifically coached against this. Their goal is primary to spread the word, not to get as many conversions as possible. Sometimes they mess up, but hey, they're human too.
One more thing....if is SO important to use the divine name....why didn't Jesus use it? Or did he? Please show me ONE scripture in a reputable Bible (the NWT does NOT count,) of Jesus referring to his father by name.
Seems like he's just yelling at random people - pretty selly

WripRoss 1 week ago
APOSTATE FAIL! Too bad he never said "SHAME ON YOU", that may have convinced them. So your saying, if a church member is an unrepentant practicer of gross sin, hang out with him & hear out his point of view. Maybe we dont like disobeying God but why shun wrongdoers that apostasize from God?
Oh yeah, 2 John 10,11 "If anyone comes to you & does not bring this teaching, NEVER receive him into your homes OR say a greeting to him. For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works"
shawso7 1 week ago
@shawso7 if what you say is true. Then why are you still in that religion ? Can you please explain how Jesus choose you in 1919 ?
WripRoss 1 week ago
@WripRoss I am still a Jehovah's Witness because as I've stated previously, unlike Catholics & Protestants, when Jehovah's Witnesses learn something they believe or practice is wrong they stop it & actively help others in the newly discovered "pit" to get out or warn them before they fall in. EX: JWs use to celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc up until the early 1900s. Then they learned such practices are rooted in demonism & pagan gods. Thus they no longer participate in them.
shawso7 1 week ago
@shawso7 The biggest lie in the JW is religions telling people that birthdays, etc are rooted in demonism. The Bible states that we have the right to celebrate what we want. For example, the Jews made up the holiday of Purim. The Jews made up the Holiday of Hanuka. Those holidays are still celebrated by the Jews. And, in Purim, gifts were handed out to people. The Bible states that one person considers one day above another day, while another person considers all days alike.
chapmaned 1 week ago

@shawso7 I was once asked by someone who I had spoken to the question, "Oh, so I can do anything I want and still get to heaven?" My response was, "YES, IF ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO IS LOVE." People like you will talk "obedience". We are obedient to Faith, not do's and don'ts. LOVE is the commandment.

@letusreason1234 The Septuagint translation of the verse cannot be an exact rendering of the Hebrew because neither the form of words nor the actual words of the Greek translation allow for that possibility. Now I will add my voice to the growing numbers of those who came to realize that this is a dangerous, fanatical cult that DEMANDS complete obedience without question, the wtbt society's teachings. islam believes in honor killings, jw's is worse, the "Shunning bullet" makes you wish U were dead

@WripRoss
What???
lol
I don't really care what you think, but the Bible is clear on what to do in this situation... You stop association, not even eating with the person...
If they come back around and are repentant then good... If not, then fellowship is no longer to be had...
If you disagree then it is only with the Bible, not me...

@letusreason1234 bible also says love the sinner but do not embrace the sin
murdaman702 2 weeks ago

HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@HeavenClear
What evidence, other then hearsay, have you?
letusreason1234 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 see, the problem is: you believe everything they tell you. They (WT) teach you that you have the "most accurate" translation of the Holy Scriptures, right? It is true that in these latter days manuscripts are available that date to the 1st century. These older manuscripts have been put into modern Bibles like the NASB, NIV etc. Also into your NWT. The difference is unfortunately that when it comes to the Deity of Christ the WT has changed this fact in your NWT.
HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 one example: of the now existing 5.000 manuscripts of the original greek scriptures the divine name does not appear ONCE through all centuries - from the oldest to the youngest papyri it does not occur ONCE - since God had a purpose to not do so as he is revelealed in Jesus, "the name above every name". If I had to post all the changes the WT made - the space here is not enough. Every greek/english interlinear will prove to you these changes. Take only one expl: John 14:14
HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 or: The Greek word “ginoskosin” meaning “to know, intimately” is mistranslated as “taking in knowledge of” to support the Watchtower doctrine that accurate knowledge is necessary for eternal life. Changing this translation from “know You” (as all other Bible translations have it) to “taking in knowledge of You” shifts the focus from a personal relationship with God to a mere intellectual study of God to gain eternal life. (John 17:3)
HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 DISTORTING GOD’S WORD (Proverbs 30:6): The WT claims that the translators of their NWT remained anonymous, but when research uncovered who the translators were, it was discovered that most of the translators were on the WT Governing Body and all of them lacked the necessary education needed to produce an accurate translation.
HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 Greek Scholars have consistently found it to be a biased translation by distorting verses to fit Watchtower doctrine and adding to God’s Word by inserting “Jehovah” in the Christian Greek Scriptures against all Christian Greek manuscripts. Would Jehovah be behind an organization that “adds” and “takes away” from His Word? NOW MY QUESTION: Could YOU pls name the 5 non-scholars who "translated" the NWT? and also give some information on their greek/hebrew-knowledge?
HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@HeavenClear
Sure... But since YOU made this accusation I would like to see some evidence of this so-called 'Mistranslation' within the NWT...
What examples do you have to show?
Rather then making such 'In-general' and 'Broad/Unspecific' statements like "Greek Scholars have..." which is Unverifiable... please provide these Scholars NAMES and the portion of the NWT they find to be 'BIAS' and 'poorly translated'...
please present 5 scriptures that are mistranslated...
letusreason1234 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 dear sir, you must be joking, right? or you must have been in a hurry :D - if you look below you will see a approx. more than 20 mistranslations - 6 of them even explained as to how real scholars of the biblical languages all render it in contrast to the New World Translatio. I hope you will check them yourself with your greek interlinear as to make sure that these are really facts and not product of someone merely interested in personally offending you as a JW

HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 8. Dr. F. F. Bruce of the University of Manchester, England: "Much is made by Arian amateur grammarians of the omission of the definite article with 'God' in the phrase 'And the Word was God.' Such an omission is common with nouns in a predicative construction...'a god' would be totally indefensible." [Barclay and Bruce are generally regarded as Great Britain's leading Greek scholars. @letusreason1234 9. Dr. Ernest C. 'My Lord and my God.' - John 20:28"
HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@letusreason1234 10. Dr. Phillip B.

HeavenClear 2 weeks ago
@HeavenClear You are so right in what you are saying; The Divine Plan of Ages is where 1914 came into play, measuring passage ways, and I think I am right in saying it was 1915 that was the original date but shifted it when WW1 broke out, And now this generation has changed 1914 means nothing, As Raymond Franz said, how many things have changed over the years, they keep Speculating on dates yet the Bible never changes.

Don't you just love sensationalism?
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
I AM a disfellowshipped person, so this comes from the heart. I knew what God's requirements were when I did the things I did and I got what I deserved. I do not blame Jehovah or the brothers..I am to blame and no one else. My family shuns me, but for good reason..because they care about me and want me to stop doing bad things. Shunning is scriptural and once you show genuine repentance by correcting your conduct, you can be reinstated. Both situations you;ll find in 1st and 2nd Corinthians.
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 - The Bible does say to not associate with drunkards and adulterers and such....but could you please show me the scripture that says people should be shunned for having or going to a birthday party?....or voting....or military service?

Isn't your vote already in every time you say that prayer?
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 It's not much different than treason, and in some countries...they still put you to death for treason let alone shun you. Birthdays? Well, here we rely on scriptural principal. First, this was a celebration carried out by ancient pagan nations which doesn't bode well for it. Secondly, there are no scriptural accounts that show us that either Jesus or any of his followers celebrated them, although he did celebrate weddings and commanded, yes commanded us to celebrate his death
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 thus showing us how much more important it is to celebrate his death than his birth. Also the tradgedies that you mentioned earlier that occurred as a result of celebrating them. Their pagan beginnings should tell us right away that they are probably not a practice that God approves. If theorigions are pagan, then it is demonic by nature and one can be disfellowshipped for practising such things.
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 - Wedding rings are pagan and have demonic roots. Don't the JW's wear them? Why is this? Why do they pick and choose which "pagan" things they say are OK?
GungHo1032 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 - So; you are admitting that when it comes to birthdays there is no CLEAR Biblical command, but just vague "principles." Seems to me that if there is no clear command, it should be left up to your God given conscience...not twelve old men in Brooklyn. - Oh, and what about ...was it Lot's or Job's sons that celebrated their "special day."....what do you think THAT was?
GungHo1032 3 weeks ago
@GungHo1032 - BTW, there is NO scriptural accounts of Jesus or his followers eating three meals a day. Does this mean we should not do it?
GungHo1032 3 weeks ago
@GungHo1032 Read 1 corinthians 10:20 and 21. Birthdays were celebrations of pagan background and as we find with history and scripture were not celebrated by Jesus or his followers. Therefore we either partake of the table of Demons such as celebrating any sort of pagan ritual including birthdays, or of the table of Jehovah and stay clear of such celebrations. This is no minor scriptural principle.
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 - If I were you, I would be very careful about accusing others of partaking from the table of demons. After all, they teachings of the cult you are defending, come from demons in the pit of hell. - BTW, ONLY a high control cult would consider a kids birthday party a "serious" sin worthy of being stoned over. You really need to step back and get a grip.
GungHo1032 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 - Please don't sidestep my question....WHY was the Centurion NOT told he could not be a Christian while in the military? Are you saying the Bible contradicts itself? - Oh brother....you are so misinformed. It is NOT thou shall not kill...it is thou shall not MURDER. Some people will always need to be killed. - AND we are to be in SUBJECTION to the superior authorities.
GungHo1032 3 weeks ago
@GungHo1032 True christians do not become involved with bloodshed for any reason..as Jesus said "you must love even your enemy", and I do not see taking the life of someone's father or son as loving my enemy. We are to be in subjection to the superior authorities, however, Jesus said "pay unto Ceasor what belongs to Ceasor but pay unto God what belongs to God" meaning that we obey man's law until it interferes with God's law. That;s when we draw the line.
badwingduck1 3 weeks ago
@badwingduck1 - Really? So why did Jesus tell his followers to go out and buy Roman Battle Swords....the M16 of the day? - But let me get this straight....if you caught a man raping your wife with a knife to her throat and you had a gun, you would read the Bible to him? - If so, you are a poor excuse for a human.

@GungHo1032 Sorry. I promise this is the last thing I'll bring up and then I'll leave you alone. It's just that JWs don't make a claim of who gets to be saved. Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19
